Club members are: 1) Free to use the courts set inside the beautiful Chippenham Park Estate All members have key access Play anytime no booking required 2) Free to join Thursday Club Nights All abilities welcome for a weekly, social tennis evening during the summer Turn up from 6:15pm onwards Parking available at the court AND CHILDREN PLAY FOR FREE Children join for free with any adult membership fee To join, simply request a membership form from Anna or Jon or come along to any Thursday Club Night for a taster session. USEFUL INFORMATION BUS SERVICE The bus shelter is next to the pub. There is one bus per day from Chippenham to Newmarket. Depart 07.09 arrive Newmarket 07.25 Depart Newmarket 18.05 arrive Chippenham 18.21 There is a limited bus service to and from Newmarket. It runs on Tuesday and Saturday. Depart 10.59 arrive Newmarket 11.15 Depart Newmarket 13.25 arrive Chippenham 13.43 Some neighbouring villages have more frequent bus services. Besides private wedding events held here in the spring and summer, the extensive gardens, lakes and wooded walks are open to visitors at certain times of the year along with the Potting Shed Cafe. Villagers on foot are not charged entry at the gate (normally 5 children free). See the website for further details and opening dates and times www.chippenhamparkgardens.co.uk MOBILE LIBRARY Calls on the first Thursday of the month and is parked outside the village hall from 11-15- 11.45. It is free to join. Books collected from other Cambridgeshire libraries can be returned here and vice versa. OIL BUYING CO-OPERATIVE James Hurst very kindly organises the village oil buying co-operative which allows buyers to group together to get the best price on heating oil. If you would like to join the cooperative contact James on james.hurst@winkhaus.co.uk Alternatively if you do not have access to email you can drop a note through his door at 47 High Street (the white house next to the pub). He will confirm receipt of your order. There is a small charge to be a member of this co-operative. PLAY AREAS There are two play areas within the village; both are located off New Street. There is an Under 12 s area with traditional play equipment. Access is via Tharp Way or pedestrian access via the footpath off New Street. There is also an Over 12 s area which consists of a basketball hoop, 5-a-side football goals, fitness equipment and an off-road bike track. Access is pedestrian only and via the footpath which runs alongside the allotments. REFUSE AND RECYCLING 10
Each house has two recycling wheelie bins; one for compostable waste (green lid) and one for recycling (blue lid). Other general waste is collected in black sacks which are issued by East Cambs District Council (01353 665555). Collections are on Wednesday morning and the wheelie bins are collected alternate weeks. The black bags are collected weekly. Collections are subject to change on bank holidays.
