European Darksky Protectors 2 nd to 8 th of April 2017 Learning, Teaching, Training Meeting In Kavala, Greece. The second Learning, Teaching, Training Meeting of our Erasmus+ Darksky Protectors was held in Kavala, Greece, between 2 nd and 8 th of April 2017. Prior to the meeting in Kavala, the coordinating school of Turkey had prepared and sent the agenda of the meeting to all the participating schools. A series of emails had been exchanged among the coordinators of the various cooperating countries in order for the meeting to be organized and realized. Following to that, working groups of students and teachers were formed in all participating schools, which worked on producing the final product of their presentations in the English language, using innovative technology (ppt presentation, video, questionnaires, photo presentations etc). Later on various criteria were used so as to choose the students and teachers who would participate in the meeting. All countries participated equally in every preparation activity. The hosting school in Kavala sent an article to the local press that was relevant to the topic of the program, and the aims and goals of the meeting. Furthermore the school released a newsletter to all the media of the area in order to inform the local community about the program and the activities of the participating students and teachers of the cooperating countries. [1]

During that meeting in Kavala, the students along with the teachers visited the city s Technological Institute (TEI) and were shown around the grounds, the teaching rooms, the library, the laboratories and they were informed about the research programs of the Nanotechnology Department. They also visited the 4 th Vocational High School of Kavala, where they were welcomed to the classrooms and the laboratories of the school. In the school s auditorium, the groups of the students of every country presented the material that had been produced in accordance to the agenda, to the students of the other countries. The presentations included the following subjects: 1. The Turkish School School Presentation Research on Climate Change The Social Effects of Lighting. 2. The Greek School School Presentation The Effects on Human Psychology and Physiology The Social Effects of Lighting 3. In the course of the cultural activities the participating students and teachers of the cooperating countries: 1. Visited typical sights of Kavala, such as the Old Town, the Castle, the Imaret and the house of Mehmet Ali. 2. Visited the island of Thassos and were shown around the town of Limenas and the Archeological Museum. 3. Visited the Mud Baths, the Archeological Site of Filippi and the Baptistery in the village of Lydia. 4. Visited Lazarides Winery and also 5. Visited the Vice District Governor of Kavala while the media covered this visit. The hosted students and teachers, visited the High School in the nearby village of Nikiforos in Drama, where they participated in Physics experiments in a thoroughly organized Physics and Astronomy laboratory. In the courtyard of the school they were shown around the open-air Physics Museum which includes a host of exhibits referring to the various areas of Physics (Mechanics, Currents, Pressure, Optics, the travelling of Sound etc), structures dedicated to the technology developed by Ancient Greeks, as well as the only found in Greece House of Illusion in the prototype of Copernicus. In the same area they visited the Solar Clock Park which houses a unique collection of all kinds of solar clocks. During the final day, they visited the Planetarium and the Technological Park of Thessaloniki, which is a place of participation and interactive exhibits, aiming at uncovering the secrets and laws of Technology and Science and enriching the quest for scientific knowledge. There, impressive structures from all the contemporary museums of the world can be found, designed with original ideas and applications that turn an exhibit into an interactive game. The aim is for the students to act, to entertain themselves and to learn, in a recreational way, the natural phenomena and laws, the application of which has radically changed our everyday lives. They also watched the short film The Earth and I. It is a film that is within the requirements of an education about the environment and the sustainability and which presents, in a simple way, complex issues and scientific data aiming at the awareness and the shaping of pro-environmental conscience. Following to that, they visited the Observatory of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where they were briefed on the operation of [3]

the telescope and the latest achievements in the field of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Physics. Finally, they visited the White Tower, the trademark of Thessaloniki, which is open to the public as a museum and gallery.
