VISA PROCEDURE Possessors of ordinary passport of countries will need visa to enter into Egypt. In this case, participants are strongly advised to seek information on requirements applicable in their case from Egyptian Embassy / Consulate or in their home countries at least 15 days prior to the trip. The following documents are required: Valid passport. A round-trip airline. Hotel booking in your name or in the name of the with whom you will be staying, including the address/phone number of your place of stay. Confirmation of registration for the event. If applicable, invitation letter received from country of the venue. TRANSPORTATION FOR PARTICIPANTS Transfers to and from Cairo Airport and official hotels will be provided to participants who have provided their flight details through the identified channels. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION The officially recommended hotels are located close to the event venue. For those who wish to take a taxi, it is strongly recommended that delegates only use White Taxis. CURRENCY The official currency of Egypt is the Egyptian Pounds. [Visa, American Express, Access/MasterCard, and Diners Club cards can also be used American dollars are usually accepted in the market. Foreign currencies may be changed into Egyptian Pounds at banks or private exchange offices. Most banks are open from Sunday till Thursday, from 8.30 to 14.00. CLIMATE The weather in November will be moderate cold and approximate temperatures will vary between 20º-25ºC. SECURITY The crime rate in Egypt is medium on UNDSS security advisory. However, visitors are advised to observe common safety practices while travelling (e.g. storing valuables in a safe, keeping wallets in a secure pocket, etc). For any security incident, visitors should contact the police on 122. ELECTRICITY AC power voltage in Egypt is 220V. See photos: SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR PARTICIPANTS DURING THE FORUM Information display: It will be located outside the main meeting room and will provide information on many issues of interest of the participants and will forward to other services, such as city tours and transfers, mail, medical care, communications, etc. It will also be the place where you should deliver or collect lost items. Communication Center: Internet Access free of charge will be available at the event meeting room. Security: For security reasons, all participants should always wear their badges during the meeting and in all social activities. Medical Assistance: Emergency and urgency medical assistance will be provided free of charge within the premises where the meeting will take place. Nevertheless it is advised to take out international travel insurance to cover any medical expenses in case of medical treatment.
