Free Route Airspace Free Route Airspace is key to the delivery of fuel efficient and environmentally friendly user preferred routings from the middle of the Atlantic to the Russian border A. Fuel efficient routings B. User preferred routings C. Cost savings for customers 2020 2012 2015

Data Link F285 F285 F195 F195 Flight Level Flight Level F95 F95 TMA TMA TMA TMA GND CTR Journey CTR GND CTR Journey CTR When Datalink is in use Datalink usage area Implementing Rule Uses Datalink services (CPDLC) only for aircraft above FL285. For many of the Borealis ANSPs, and for airspace users in Borealis members airspace, this will provide only limited benefit as a large portion of the flights are shorthaul and will only stay above FL 285 for a very short time. Borealis ANSPs approach to Datalink services Use Datalink services from the top of the departed TMA throughout the full en-route phase until entering the TMA on arrival. Coverage will be in place at the time of initiating the service. The Optimised DLK services are related to enhanced messages and usage, to be developed from 2015 to 2018. A. Improved comms in greater area B. Enhanced safety C. Greater value from investment
