Drilling Operations Wells Data in-depth (28-21) This section aims at analyzing the count of wells drilled during the fiscal years of and. These in- depth comparisons are divided into four main divisions: discovery, offshore development, onshore development and exploration wells. Each division provides various points of comparison, such as well classification, well status, operators wells and also basins where wells lie. The following graphs reflect the wheel of drilling operations, pre- global economic recession (28), during recession (29) and post recession when a recovery phase is taking place (21). 1. Discovery Wells Throughout the period from 28 to 21 (Q2), the total number of discovery wells totaled 87 wells, out of which 41 wells were drilled in 28. This number dropped to 25 discovery wells in 29, while in 21, till the second quarter, the number of discovery wells counted for 21 wells, which reflect a possible increase of discovery wells by the end of the year. Total Discovery Wells 28 29 21 In 28, there were six offshore wells and 36 onshore wells. As the number of total discovery wells dropped in 29, the number of onshore wells decreased to 24 wells and one sole offshore discovery wells. Until the third quarter of 21, all discovery wells were onshore ones.

Petroleum, Eni, Gaz de France, Melrose, Shell and Sipetrol experienced the 29 decline in terms of discovery wells. 2. Offshore Development Wells During the fiscal year of, the total number of wells counted for 11 offshore development wells, while the number dropped to 64 wells in (Q3), which is nearly the half. Total Offshore Development Wells Comparing the offshore development wells of both fiscal years, the Gulf of Suez basin held the highest shares, in, more than 65 offshore development wells were spudded, while the number was lower in and was less than 4 wells. Similarly, the Nile Costal/Deep Water Sub- basin had the higher number of offshore development wells in (33 wells). As for the Nile Delta Basin, each fiscal year had one sole offshore development well in this area.

Total offshore development wells per basin per year 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 Gulf of Suez Nile Delta Nile Coastal/Deep Water Sub- basin To sum up, the total offshore development wells in the Gulf of Suez Basin counted for 14 wells, while there were two wells only in the Nile Delta Basin. As for the Nile Coastal/Deep Water Sub- Basin, it included 59 wells. 12 1 8 6 4 2 28-21 Q3 Gulf of Suez Nile Delta Nile Coastal/Deep Water Sub- basin Status of offshore development wells (28/29 29/21 Q3)

Onshore Development Wells In the period from 28 to 21, the total number of onshore development wells in Egypt counted for 975 wells, out of which 619 ones were drilled in the fiscal year of, while the remaining 338 wells were drilled in the fiscal year of Q3. Total Onshore Development Wells Total onshore development wells per basin (28-21 Q3) The Gulf of Suez Onshore Basin had the highest number of onshore development wells in the period from 28 to 21 Q3. This basin held

Exploration Wells Throughout the period from 28 to 21 Q3, the total number of exploration wells was 595 wells. During the fiscal year of, there were 327 exploration wells, while the total was 268 ones during Q3.

Total Exploration Wells Total exploration wells per classification per year If we divide the total number of exploration wells according to classification, we will find that there were 273 onshore exploration wells and 54 offshore ones during. Similarly, the fiscal year of 29-21 Q3 had more onshore exploration wells compared to the offshore. There were 236 onshore exploration wells and 32 offshore ones. 3 25 2 15 1 Onshore Exploration Wells Offshore Exploration Wells 5

Hence, the period from 28 to 21 Q3 had 59 onshore exploration wells and 86 offshore ones. 28-21 Q3 Onshore Exploration Wells Offshore Exploration Wells Status of exploration wells (28/29 29/21 Q3) 18 16 14 12 1 8 6 4 Completed Oil Completed Gas Drilling Plugged & Abandoned Running Casing Suspended 2 Total exploration wells per operator per year
