C T FISHERIES (COASTAL COMMUNITIES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2016 FISHERIES MANAGEMENT ACT 2002 IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 15(1) and 101(2)(b) of the Fisheries Management Act 2002, the Minister responsible for Fisheries makes the following Regulations - 1 Short Title and Interpretation (1) 'These Regulation may be cited as the Fisheries (Coastal Communities) (Amendment). (2) In these Regulations, the Fisheries (Coastal Communities) Regulations 2009, shall be referred as the Principal Regulations. 2 Regulation 2 amended Regulations 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting the following new word and its definition in the appropriate place CEO means the Chief Executive Officer responsible for fisheries;.

3 Replacing reference Secretary with CEO The Principal Regulations is amended by deleting the word Secretary wherever appearing, and replacing them with the word CEO. 4 Regulations 6 and 7 replaced The Principal Regulations is amended by deleting regulations 6 and 7 and replacing them with the following 6 Membership (1) A Committee shall comprise of the following members - (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) the Chairperson who shall be elected by the coastal community; the Town Officer of the coastal community; the District Officer of the district within which the coastal community is situated; one representative of the Ministry be nominated by the CEO; two members representing the interests of fishermen elected by the community; two members representing the interests of women elected by the community; and three representatives of the coastal community be nominated by the Chairperson. (2) The Committee may co-opt any person participate in meetings and provide advice. 7 Procedures The Committee shall develop its own rules and procedures for the conduct of its business and its meetings with the guidance of the CEO, and such rules and procedures shall comply with the provisions of the Act, these Regulations and any standards and guidelines approved by the CEO.. Fisheries (Coastal Communities) (Amendment) 5 Regulation 8 amended Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations is amended by deleting subregulation (1) and replacing it with the following (1) The members of the Committee be elected by the coastal community under regulation 6(1)(e) and (f), shall be elected by a majority vote of the relevant coastal community, in a meeting convened by the Chairperson of the Committee and the Ministry.. 6 Regulation 12 amended Regulation 12(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended by (a) renumbering paragraph (h) as paragraph (i), and renumbering the remaining paragraphs accordingly; and (b) inserting the following new paragraph (h) (h) collect such data as is necessary effectively monir the operations and effectiveness of the Plan and maintain such data in a form required by the CEO which may include electronic srage and the use of a database provided by the CEO for that purpose;. 7 Regulation 16 amended Regulation 16 of the Principal Regulations is amended by (a) renumbering sub-regulation (2) as sub-regulation (3), and by renumbering the remaining sub-regulations accordingly; and (b) inserting the following new sub-regulation (2) (2) Any register may be kept electronically and shall, when so required by the CEO be kept on a database provided by the CEO for that purpose..
