Hi Everyone, President s Report It was strange not having a magazine last month. I don t remember that ever happening before, and I know Andrew would have been trying desperately to put it together but was under a lot of pressure to get important work completed before he left on Holidays. Don t feel bad Andrew we understand and appreciate the effort you put into the magazine. The application for the name change and constitution changes have finally been submitted. It is surprising how much time was spent getting it prepared and checking and correcting little things. Thanks to the subcommittee for the assistance in getting this done, with special thanks to Jules for the setup of the initial documents and to Steve for the Application Stage. Fingers crossed it all goes straight through. I understand everything has to be spot on. I haven t checked, but I hope everyone has renewed their membership by now. If you haven t and are on concessional rego, it is illegal for you to drive your car. This month s run is the Cooroy Car Show & Swap Meet on Sunday 23 rd starting at 9am, we have been circulating a flyer for a few months and there will probably be one again in this month s magazine. I haven t organized a run as such as some will want to go early for the Swap Meet but if you want to travel with someone let me know and I ll see who is going. I will be going early as I am helping out with part of the Judging. I would like to extend a warm welcome to new members Graeme and Karla Lake, also a new applicant in Terry Gillespie, who will only be able to attend every second meeting as his work roster sees him in north Qld every other month. Graeme & Karla are rebuilding a 53 FX Ute, Terry has a 54 FJ Ute and a 67 HR Sedan. Please don t forget the raffle process. If you win a prize you donate a prize for the next raffle (something around $10), we have been buying prizes to fill gaps. The November run is being organized by Kerry. Happy Motoring Allan Benvenuti. Club Runs Cooroy Car Show & Swap Meet on Sunday October 23. See the flyer on the following page. September Run Report Emiel and I met Ennio and Maree the organisers, with passenger Basil, at the meeting place at 8:30am under grey patchy skies with no rain. We were it for the run so off we went in convoy to the Botanical Gardens at Mt Cootha. Coffee shop first stop, then to our tour guide and a very interesting tour of the gardens. It is amazing the different trees and plants and excellent information with the guide Denis explaining it all to us. We saw scrub turkeys and water dragons throughout the gardens. It was fantastic. After the tour we headed for Slaughter Falls for a picnic lunch. While there the local birds in particular a Kookaburra wanted to eat as well - he was very friendly. A very well organised run with a big thankyou to Ennio and Maree for their efforts. Very much appreciated. Michael Bishop 7
