About 15 hearty souls were there for fun day. Fun it was with helicopter type lift offs. Landing was also a challenge from the east to west in the windy conditions. The northwest wind takeoffs bit a few flyers. Juan Galvez braved the conditions flying his T-45 90 mm Jet. Harold Saults followed with his reliable U-Can-Do. Yours truly made a maiden flight with my DH-112 Vampire 90mm EDF Jet. A nice P-51 crashed on takeoff to round out the flying. Thanks to all who donated. Keep up the good work, folks! The field is in great shape thanks to the rain. The grass runway on the North side of the asphalt is really looking good and is smooth. Buck has negotiated with one of his contractors to seal the cracks. It will require a couple of days in the middle of the week between now and December 2018. We will keep you posted on the No Fly Dates. NEW BUSINESS: Stephan Christensen is the new FaceBook page editor and monitor. Thanks Stephan! Rich Beardsley, the Club s Leader member, provided us with the AMA report of the AMA functions with the new FAA authorization bill. Basically, everything is the same as prior to passage. We still fly with the same restrictions. We no longer have to notify airfield mangers of out activities within 5 miles of active airports. Please read the complete proceedings on the AMA web site. Repeat The ARCS Christmas Party will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 6 to 10pm at Chaparrita s Mexican Restaurant at 7350 Tezel Rd. It will be much the same as last year s party. We will have a large raffle, Chinese gift exchange (NO GAG GIFTS) and special gift drawings. You must bring a gift (worth at least $25) to participate in the gift exchange. Dinner will be served at 7pm. Children are welcome. Each child will receive a

gift and is part of the fun. Raffle tickets will be 6 for $5 or $20 for fingertip to fingertip pull (about 30 to35 tickets). There will be a separate Ladies Raffle. We will be having 2 entrees; Flat Iron Steak or Turkey and all the trimmings. Each is $22. Cutoff date is December 3rd. Please bring your money to the November meeting, use PayPal on the Club web site or send the funds to Tony Centeno via USPS and please tell us what you want to eat. Mark your calendars! Absolutely NO money for the party or Club dues will be accepted at the party! Repeat We are collecting dues and fees for 2019. ARCS annual Lease Payment of approximately $3800 is due to Joe not later than December 31, 2018. We need your Annual Dues and Fees well before December 31 st date to cover the check without losing interest on the Club savings. Please pay early! We will accept money at the Club Meetings, buy US Mail and on-line via the Club web site, www.alamoradiocontrol.club (using PayPal). If using US Mail, please send the checks payable to ARCS to Tony Centeno. His address is on the Club web site. Keep the Secretary and Treasurer from getting more gray hair! The fees are as follows: ADULT MEMBERS: $60 Annual Dues $25 Grass Maintenance Fee $85 Total YOUTH MEMBERS: $10 Annual Dues $25 Grass Maintenance Fee $35 Total DUES EXEMPT MEMBERS: $25 Grass Maintenance Fee $25 Total Repeat When you come out to fly, please use the Green Sign In Book and please sign in. We are constantly being asked when folks are using the field and we do not know. We know when the grass is cut, but not when everyone flies. This will get the information and hopefully get people together. CRASH OF THE MONTH:

Dick Reich was out flying one of his tried and true foamies and he did a steep turn. The wing snapped in two pieces and the rest hit the ground destroyed. No one knows what happened. Winner: Dick Reich SHOW AND TELL: Jim Neff showed us his new J-3 bind and fly foamie from Tower Hobbies. It flies great and was only $150. Check it out. Rich Sanders showed the Club his new E-Max Hawk drone from China for only $170. It flies fast and can go vertical out of sight in 2 heart beats. Raffle: The monthly raffles are designed to break even. Any access monies are used for the Christmas Party Raffle. Our wives and guests receive a free raffle ticket for attending the meeting. Special thanks go out to Hobby Town for providing the raffle prizes to the Club at a reduced price. The Christmas Party and Annual Raffle

Our annual end of the year event was held on 11 Dec 2018 at Caparrita s Mexican Resturant. Approximately 45 cheerful members, their wives and guests were there for the opening festivities. Tom Richards gave the blessing for our gathering. A hearty meal of Turkey or steak dinner proceded. After dinning was completed Buck Murray explained the rules for the Chinese gift exchange. The fun started right away after your truly number 7 selected a gift that was quickly taken moments later. The swapping immediately picked up as popular items such as gift cards and bottles of prized spirit were rapidly changing hands. Once an individual retrieved a gift for 2 nd time it was theirs to keep. Everyone enjoyed the excitement of the search for their ideal gift. Next came the time for the members annual raffle. Again Buck Murray out did himself with 9 Top prize Airplane ARF kits and a table full of goodies. As per the rules, the small items were raffled first. Members each had purchased $40 or more in raffle tickets based on a finger tip to finger tip pull of tickets. Most were at least 50 tickets. The ticket barrel was full. Unbelievably There were many multiple winners. Bob Palamini snagged perhaps the biggest prize s Horizon Models 30cc Ultra Stick. Other winners included Pete Dubree winning a 10cc Ultra Stick. Harold Saults the Twist 40. Jim Agnew a Tiger 60 kit. Pictures below round out the other winners.
