Present: Tammy Lewer, Earl O Brien, Roger Nethercote, Brett Sowerby, Christine Bass, Victoria Patterson, Wendy Carruthers, Jenny Fenner, Alan Nicolle & Janie Carter Apologies: Alison Kniha, Dave Perrett, Phil Byrne, Geoff Carter, Damian Grimmond, Sarah Peterson, Dennis Emery & Kay Cooper. As Alison Kniha was absent from the meeting, an acting chairman is to be elected for the meeting. It was moved that Brett Sowerby chair this meeting. Moved by Tammy Lewer and seconded by Jenny Fenner. Carried. Confirmation of May 2011 Minutes: Confirmation of minutes moved by Tammy Lewer and seconded by Roger Nethercote. Carried. Matters Arising from May 2011 Minutes: We have been given the date of Thurs 18 th August for school visits. Tammy Lewer is organising this. o The list of possible schools now are Hazelbrook PS, Winmalee PS & Springwood PS we are waiting to hear back about their interest. Tammy will follow up by end of term. o Faulconbridge are not interested but Earl can give out flyers there Graeme Cooper is able to look after all upcoming school carnivals except Janie & Christine are doing St Columba s & Victoria is doing Faulconbridge PS The registration dates have been booked with Winmalee shops Wendy will follow up on confirmation with Dave Victoria will ask her husband about ideas to keep the shot put circle drainage holes unblocked The Bunnings BBQ will be held Sat 6 th August please keep this day free to assist. Depending on the number of helpers we will be assigned shifts. The uniform stock is still a concern, with the last price rise our stock is now currently valued at $13,000. We need to sell off slow moving items at registration. Janie to discuss with Sarah how to implement this. Correspondence: Incoming

It was moved by Roger Nethercote that our component of fees be increased by 3% next season to account for recent price increases and expenses. Little A s fees increased last year but are not increasing this year and seconded by Christine Bass. Carried. LAANSW Newsletter U17 girls will now be throwing 3kg shot put and U14-U17 girls will now be throwing 500g javelin aligned with changes to IAAF youth specification. LAANSW Annual Conference information Alison to send out any information regarding proxy voting to committee via email. BM Zone we have been asked to run the Zone Multi this year which the committee agreed was good idea. We may need to undertake some changes and repairs before then so we need to ask zone what is required. Carried Reports: Treasurer Deposits $126 Expenditure $5,384 Club Cash Position: $14,078 Balance per bank statement $14,078 Plus Term deposit $10,731 Total capital $24,809 The CBPP Grant has now been completed. NSW Government grant of $14910 has been journalled out of our bank account. There was also a club expense of $4000 towards this project. Our capital is now back to where it was in June 2010. Fundraising We need to agree on sponsorship levels and structure for the coming season. Victoria will send out her ideas We should consider professionally printing the handbook in order to get better revenue for advertising. Todd Devery at Springwood printing may be able to assist with this. We need to decide on a raffle prize could be linked to sponsorship. We have a $100 Rebel Gift Voucher still left over for 2 nd prize General Business Gazette 50 th Anniversary Feature 17 August We need to sell 20-30 ads for this Victoria will contact existing sponsors as part of sponsorship for next season Janie will ask shops at Commassie, Brett at Springwood and Jenny at Winmalee (please let Brett now what businesses are interested) We need someone to go to Lawson Street if possible. Janie to provide Brett with list of Sports Council contacts in case they are interested We will email our Little As and Seniors database for other interest. Articles to be written and who will write them: o Club History Brett o Current projects Janie o Info about the club and registration Tammy o Club coaching Earl o Athlete Profile Christine o Ask club members for testimonials and photos (to be sent to Alan Nicolle) o Other ideas tots photos, personal interest story (eg families who compete), profiles on successful club athletes All articles should be no more than 200 words & forwarded to Brett no later than mid July. Christine, Tammy & Allan have offered to enter results and laminate certificates There being no further business. The meeting concluded at 9:25pm. Next committee meeting will be 7:30pm on Tuesday 19th July 2011 at Springwood Sports Club.
