VISIT BELFAST 04 BUSINESS TOURISM SALES MANAGER About Us Visit Belfast is the city s official Destination Marketing and Management Organisation (DMMO) responsible to marketing Belfast as a short break, group tour, business tourism and cruise destination. Our core purpose is to grow the visitor economy by driving visitor demand to the Belfast City Region. We are a public-private sector partnership, backed by the tourism and hospitality industry across Belfast and Northern Ireland. Visit Belfast represents more than 500 tourism businesses across the industry including accommodation providers, attractions, conference venues and services, tour operators, transport providers, entertainment venues, restaurants and cafes, pubs and clubs and event organisers. VISIT BELFAST 05 BUSINESS TOURISM SALES MANAGER Details November 2018 Job Title: Business Tourism Sales Manager To support Visit Belfast s ambitious business development plans to drive further business tourism growth to Belfast and the city region, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales and business development professional to join the team as Business Tourism Sales Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting Belfast as a world-class business tourism destination and securing new international and national conferences, business meetings and events to the city. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for identifying, developing and converting business tourism sales opportunities to help deliver ambitious growth targets and sales KPIs. Salary: 26,968 36,242 The entry point on the salary range for the successful candidate will normally be the minimum of the range. Location: Belfast This position is based in our corporate office. Visit Belfast s corporate office and the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre (VBWC) are located at 9, Donegall Square North, Belfast, BT1 5GB. VISIT BELFAST 06 BUSINESS TOURISM SALES MANAGER Hours of Work Normal hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm. Employees will be required from time to time to work outside normal working hours. Annual Leave The leave year runs from 1 January to 31 December. Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per year pro rata, with an additional 11 customary public holidays. After 5 years continual service leave entitlement will increase to 30 days per year. Pensions Visit Belfast is a member of the NI Local Government Officers Superannuation Committee (NILGOSC) pension scheme. VISIT BELFAST 08 BUSINESS TOURISM SALES MANAGER Job Description Job Title: Duration: Department: Reporting to: Salary Range: Business Tourism Sales Manager Permanent, Full Time Business Development Head of Business Tourism 26,968 36,242 Purpose: To promote Belfast as a world-class business tourism destination and to secure new international and national conferences, business meetings and events to the city. To identify, develop and convert business tourism sales opportunities to help deliver ambitious growth targets and sales KPIs. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Develop new business through identifying and converting of sales opportunities from national and international conferences, meetings and events. 2. Initiate, develop and build strong working relationships with association, corporate and agency clients in national and international markets to maximise sales opportunities for Belfast. 3 Assist the Head of Business Tourism in organising and implementing an annual programme of sales and marketing activity and interventions to promote Belfast as a leading business tourism destination in key markets, develop client relationships and deliver sales targets. 4. Maximise conversion of sales opportunities through effective sales and pipeline management and CRM (customer relationship management). 5. Develop and produce conference bids, proposals and presentations to meet client requirements and present how their conference and event can be delivered in Belfast. 6. Proactively work closely with the Ambassador Programme Manager and business tourism team to identify and develop new sales opportunities, develop bid strategies for key sectors and deliver tactical sales campaigns to drive new business opportunities. 7. Develop strong relationships with clients and ambassadors to generate and deliver conference and meetings business for Belfast. 8. Effectively represent Visit Belfast at industry events, tradeshows, and client events and develop strong working relationships with industry partners and key stakeholders.

VISIT BELFAST 09 BUSINESS TOURISM SALES MANAGER 9. Plan, manage, co-ordinate and deliver sales and marketing activities in key markets including participation at tradeshows, exhibitions and workshop events to effectively promote Belfast as a business tourism destination and to maximise return on investment from sales platforms. Management of operational plans and budgets for sales and marketing activity. 10. Deliver effective sales presentations, organise client sales calls and events, conduct sales research and take part in a range of sales and marketing platforms to promote Belfast as a business tourism destination. 11. Provide regular reports on sales performance and achievement of KPIs using CRM and reporting systems to monitor performance of sales calls, bids/proposals, leads and sales activity evaluation. Other: Working outside of normal office hours is an essential part of the role including when necessary evenings and weekends. This role will require UK, International and European travel. Clean driving licence and access to a car for work purposes is desirable. You will be required to carry out all duties with full regard to Visit Belfast equal opportunities and fair employment policies. Assist the department in maximising commercial income generation from industry partners and securing participation and buy-in from partners in Visit Belfast to support business tourism marketing activity. 13. Assist in the development of business tourism marketing collateral, communications and digital content. 14. Develop and manage an effective database of existing and potential conference clients through Visit Belfast s CRM system and reporting systems. 15. Represent the business development team at industry, stakeholder and partner events. 16. Contribute towards the business planning, strategy development and delivery of operational plans and targets within the business development department. 17. Prepare sales and marketing reports as requested by the Director of Business Development.

Third level or post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline such as marketing, sales, tourism, hospitality, business studies. Relevant Experience Minimum of four years sales and business development experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver results, meeting and exceeding sales targets. Ability to deliver effective presentations at a senior level and experience of pitching for new business. Excellent sales management experience including pipeline management and CRM. Client management experience and strong track record of establishing and developing client relationships. Experience of generating and closing new business opportunities. Production of high quality bids, presentations and client proposals. Experience of organising and delivering client events, tradeshows and workshops. International sales and business development experience. Experience of MICE market (meetings, incentive, conference wand events). Destination marketing experience. Stakeholder management experience.
