The Gladstone Globe

Imagine See Learn Enter Our world. the Gladstone region. Site of 21st century industry, sustainability, conservation, tourism, arts, culture and heritage. In partnership with QUT, the Gladstone Engineering Alliance is proud to present The Gladstone Globe, an interactive walkway focussed on creating compelling stories of the Gladstone region to engage communities, organisations, tourists and businesses. The Globe project was launched at the 2014 G20 Leaders Summit, hosted by Brisbane, and promotes Queensland s valuable trade and investment opportunities in a state-of-the-art digital earth visualisation engine. The project features the State government s renowned open data collection as well as highresolution satellite imagery, interactive animations, and integrated multimedia for visitors to explore, discover and share. And now the Gladstone Engineering Alliance is bringing The Globe to Gladstone. What will it do for industry?

Imagine For the first time our industries will be able to display their information in a virtual and immersive experience. Imagine being able to integrate science, engineering, ecology, and production such that the viewer can learn about the intricacies of how products such as aluminium are made, hear from the captain of a tug boat how he berths a giant coal ship, what is involved in creating LNG gas, how do we make cement, how a power plant operates, or discover the various research programmes underway to ensure the health of the harbour the opportunities are endless.

See The Gladstone Globe opens up infinite possibilities to delve into a world rarely seen by the public. The Gladstone Globe projects are interactive. Touch the screens to zoom-in on an industry, use the + symbol to expand information contained in the project. Learn We can bring our industries to the world and focus on creating opportunities for our members to showcase their operations and attract further industry, business and families to not only live, work and play in Gladstone but to invest in our region. The Gladstone Globe will create opportunities for the region s industries not currently available through: 1. Providing space for members to showcase their operations 2. Promoting how industry is connected to the community 3. Building interest and motivating viewers to contribute to the region s growth 4. Managing perceptions and building awareness of the region s business opportunities 5. Finding out what clients and their communities need and delivering on those needs

Enter The realm of Gladstone s industries. Through showcasing the region s industries The Gladstone Globe offers opportunities for the viewer to delve into the world of our industries. Specific sub programmes allow the viewer to gain insights into industry practices such as what is involved in building an alumina refinery, how a coal ship is loaded, operating an LNG plant, how industry is working to be environmentally responsible and the specific research projects each industry manages. As a valued member, GEA is offering your business the opportunity to support this exciting and world class project that is the first of its kind outside the SE corner of Queensland, through a small sponsorship of $1,000.00. This will entitle you to have your business showcased within The Gladstone Globe for 12 months.
