PUBLIC HEARING SECONDARY & UNPAVED ROAD CONSTRUCTION BUDGET PRIORITY LIST- SECONDARY AND UNPAVED ROADS This public hearing is held pursuant to 33.1-70.01, Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended to receive public comment on the Priority List for Proposed Improvements to the Secondary and Unpaved Roads of Southampton County and the FY 2019 Secondary and Unpaved Road Construction Budget. The notice of this public hearing was published in the Tidewater News on May 6 and May 13, 2018. After conclusion of this public hearing, the Board of Supervisors will consider the comments offered this evening and will adopt a resolution establishing its priorities for improvements to secondary and unpaved roads. At this time, I ll ask our friends from VDOT to provide a brief overview of the Priority List and the FY 2019 Construction Budget, after which we ll be pleased to receive public comment. MOTION REQUIRED: If the Board is so inclined, a motion is required to approve the budget and priority lists for secondary and unpaved roads.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PRIORITY LIST FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO SECONDARY AND UNPAVED ROADS Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 33.1-70.01 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, that the Board of Supervisors of Southampton County and the Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a joint public hearing on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, for the purpose of presenting a priority list of proposed improvements to the secondary and unpaved roads of Southampton County. The hearing will be held in the Board Room of the Southampton County Office Center at 26022 Administration Center Drive in Courtland, Virginia. The priority list of secondary and unpaved road improvement projects will be presented for public comment and any citizens with an interest in secondary and unpaved road project priorities are encouraged to attend and make their views known. Once adopted, the priority list will serve as the basis of formulating the fiscal year 2019 through fiscal year 2024 Six-Year Secondary Road Improvement Plan as well as the fiscal year 2019 Secondary and Unpaved Road Construction Budget.
