GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC) Minutes March 17, 2010 President Freddie Haugh called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. ANNOUNCEMENTS/GUESTS Sam Lane s brother passed away this past week. Club condolences will be sent. The medication that Nancy Lane is on makes her very tired. We can cheer her up by sending some cards. Don and Sharon Pennell have a new granddaughter, Lily Grace. Freddie thanked Dave and Sharon for hosting the committee meeting for GDCC s upcoming cruise in January. SECRETARY S REPORT Mike Jones moved the minutes from the February meeting be accepted as written. Seconded by Pat Frymyer. TREASURER S REPORT Beginning balance $2,890.72 Net Expenses (Corvette Museum Renewal) 150.00 Net Income (50/50) 36.00 Ending balance $2,776.72 VICE PRESIDENT S REPORT Don Pennell received an application for GDCC to participate in the Centerville/Washington Township Americana Parade on July 5, 2010. Don will return the application and indicate that approximately 10 cars will participate. COMMITTEE REPORTS SOCIAL Sharon First gave a rundown on future GDCC events: March 20: Dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Huber Heights. Meet at 5:30 p.m. Dave and Sharon First will have desserts at their house after the dinner. March 28: Road trip and brunch at Belterra Casino in Indiana. More information will follow. April 17: Dinner at Kent s Woodburning Grill in Tipp City. More information will follow.

. April 24-26: Trip to Corvette Museum, Bowling Green KY. Plans are to meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Monroe exit on Interstate 75 and just stay Saturday night. May 2: Derby Party at Don and Sharon Pennell. More information to follow. May 8: Trip to Buds in St. Mary s. If you want breakfast, meet at the Cracker Barrel on Miller Lane at 8:00 a.m. If you don t want breakfast, meet at the Cracker Barrel at 9:00 a.m. For those who would like to attend, Sky Kings will perform at Gilly s in the evening. MEMBERSHIP Judy Smith reported that we have 86 members. PUBLIC RELATIONS No report NEWSLETTER No report. NCM AMBASSADOR Two cars were raffled last month from the Corvette Museum. They only sold about half the tickets. On Saturday, March 20, there will be 3 GM cars participating in the Sebring Race. WEBMASTER No report. OLD BUSINESS Freddie indicated that 30 ballots were cast for having a dealership sponsor and 10 ballots for not having a sponsor. Motion passed. Don Pennell will head a committee to determine what GDCC expects from a sponsor. The committee will consist of Jerry Schlatter, Mark Shank, John Vanscoy, Tom Murph, and Steve Smith. They will also visit Buds and Voss Chevrolets to find out what they would expect from GDCC. Connie Shank provided information concerning the January 23-30 January 2011. The cruise will replace our annual awards banquet next year. The cruise line chosen, Celebrity Solstice is one of the top cruise lines. The cost of the cruise is the same no matter with whom you book the cruise. The committee went with the cruise line that provided the most on board ship credit - $200.00. The committee agreed to the early dinner seating.

There are different categories of rooms. A $200.00 deposit is required when booking the cruise. You can pick out a specific room but the deposit rises to $500.00. The cruise ladies do not book airfare. If you would like, Connie will book the airfare and a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale when the time comes. The cruise ladies can be contacted at 1-330-863-8800 ext 102/1-866-535-2155 ext 102 if you have any questions. Their hours are 8:00 a.m. 9:00 p.m. Monday thru Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. The cost of insurance is based on the cost of the cabin. Monthly payments can be set up with cruise ladies. The minimum monthly payment is $200.00. Connie indicated that you can book the cruise through another agency but you won t get the $200.00 shipboard credit. Please notify Sharon First when you book the cruise. There are 15 couples that indicated they would be cruising. Fran Thaman indicated that Celebrity is tied to Royal Caribbean and that by booking this cruise you will receive credit as a Royal Caribbean repeat customer NEW BUSINESS. The lady who obtained club jackets in the past has not retired. Contact Freddie Haugh if you are interested in obtaining a jacket. The approximate cost is $100.00, which includes the embroidery.
