2012 Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG) 22-24 February 2012, Exhibition Convention Centre Why attend? It s been called the most important show, in the most important industry, in the most important oil and gas region in the world and few who ve attended the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG) in would disagree. Bringing together more than 450 exhibitors from across 16 countries, AOG has grown to become Australia s largest oil and gas event and the only exhibition of its kind to attract over 11,000 visitors. AOG 2012 is poised to again shatter exhibitor and visitor attendance records, showcasing innovations in subsea, asset management, flow control, safety and engineering from the world s leading oil and gas operators, contractors and supply companies at Convention and Exhibition Centre from 22-24 February. Visitors will see the very latest products, projects and technology under one roof, with dedicated feature zones focusing on key areas of the oil and gas industry including subsea technology, drilling and downhole technology, education, research and training, innovation and health, safety and the environment. Also incorporating the Subsea Australasia Conference, the AOG Conference, plus a comprehensive program of seminars, a careers day and networking opportunities, AOG is a must attend event for senior managers, engineers, consultants, procurement professionals and other decision makers in the oil and gas industry. Addressing the skills shortage Of the 75 advanced projects currently listed by the Australian Bureau of Agriculture and Resources Economics, 41 are in the energy sector. Pending the number of liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains constructed by 2015, it is anticipated that around 3,200 new operational jobs will be generated, with replacement demand in gas operations around 2,000 per annum. With another 61,500 new jobs required in the mining industry, together with 45,000 new jobs in resource construction, the industry is facing a skills shortage that far exceeds that experienced in the boom period of 2003 to 2008. AOG 2012 will address this major issue for the industry through its expanded AOG Conference program and the AOG Careers Day. With an entire stream of presentations focused on resourcing and the skills shortage, the AOG Conference will delve into questions such as: how and where will Australian projects source

the skills and labour required? What skill development programs are underway in readiness? And what opportunities are we providing for those keen to secure an entry-level position? Among the conference highlights will be a presentation from Matthew Underhill, Global Managing Director of Hays Oil & Gas, on the findings from Hays 2012 survey. The AOG Conference will be the first public release of the survey and Underhill will make specific reference to the Australian skill shortages and suggest a six point plan for employers seeking to navigate their way through a skills short recruitment market. AOG will also join forces with leading universities and energy employers to encourage the next generation of oil and gas leaders at the AOG Careers Day on 24 February. Designed to communicate the career opportunities available in oil and gas, the Careers Day will give tertiary students the opportunity to speak directly with employers and industry experts from Woodside, ConocoPhillips, WorleyParsons, JP Kenny, John Holland, the Society for Underwater Technology, the Resource Channel, Technip and GE Oil & Gas. Networking and more AOG is not just about business there will also be ample opportunities for visitors to relax and mingle with industry peers. The AOG Opening Party will give exhibitors, visitors and conference delegates a chance to enjoy an evening of great food, drinks and entertainment to kick off the event, while the AOG Dinner on 23 February will feature a three-course meal and special guest speaker Lord Digby Jones. Business Ambassador for UK Trade & Investment, Lord Jones first visited AOG in 2010 and, with his reputation for humour and a phenomenal biography of business escapades, will make a welcome return to in 2012. AOG will also provide opportunities for networking and a tasty lunch on the show floor, with delicious food and refreshments available at the Oyster Bar, Bratwurst Bar, ATI Metals Subsea Bar, SLA Juice Bar and the ABS Café and Ansell Restaurant. Save time and register free online now for AOG 2012 at www.aogexpo.com.au

Supplier Diversity and the Nallawilli story There s a new phrase buzzing around procurement departments across Australia and it s supplier diversity. For many years we ve seen organisations develop environmentally sustainability purchasing policies and green purchasing targets and now Australia has a framework for socially sustainable procurement or purchasing products and services with social benefits. In September 2009, the Federal Government launched the Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council (AIMSC) to help build a prosperous, vibrant and sustainable Indigenous enterprise sector by integrating Indigenous SMEs into the supply chains of Australian companies and Government agencies. According to AIMSC the aim of supplier diversity is to increase the opportunity for ethnic minority owned businesses to supply their goods and services to large public and private sector organisations. Supplier diversity offers under represented businesses the same opportunities to compete for the supply of quality goods and services as other qualified suppliers. For corporations and government agencies that want to have suppliers that reflect their customer base, they may find it difficult to identify and engage with diversity suppliers. This is where AIMSC helps. Instead of having to understand the ownership of a business and try to find diversity suppliers, AIMSC does the work to certify businesses as Indigenous owned and once certified are easily accessible to AIMSC member organisations. Two years ago when supplier diversity was finding its feet, Nallawilli Pty Ltd was established as a 100% privately owned Indigenous business. Nallawilli is an Indigenous word from the Darug Nation which is located west of Sydney. It means to sit down and listen to one another. The company logo represents many Indigenous and non- Indigenous people coming together to sit down and listen to one another Nallawilli s fervent passion is to see Indigenous Australians participate in sustainable economic engagement with Australian business. Indigenous economic engagement needs to rely less on welfare, donations, sponsorships and handouts. Commercial engagements will revolve around business to business relationships. Nallawilli has been accredited by AIMSC, receiving certification in March 2010. Nallawilli will contribute to the process of practical reconciliation within Australia by providing a working example, in the business environment, of how positive relationships between Indigenous and non-indigenous businesses can thrive and produce meaningful commercial outcomes for all stakeholders. Nallawilli has an exclusive agreement with Corporate Express to distribute their Indigenous branded stationery products, being an A4 Australian copy paper, manilla folders, spiral notebooks, and 2 types of DL envelopes. By consuming these products organisations can achieve their diversity targets. For further information please contact Reena Strehle 0412 994 459 or email reena.strehle@ce.com.au

The Tropicana Gold Project represents the most significant gold discovery in Australia of the last decade. Owned by AngloGold Ashanti Australia Ltd (70% and manager) and Independence Group NL (30%), the deposit is located 330 kilometres east-northeast of Kalgoorlie and was discovered in 2005 in a geological setting not previously thought to be prospective for gold. Since then the Tropicana Joint Venture has outlined a Mineral Resource of 5.36 million ounces in the Tropicana, Havana and Boston Shaker deposits, confirming the presence of a new gold province. The Boards of the joint venture partners approved development of the project in November 2010, and first gold production is scheduled to commence in late 2013. In its first three years the new mine will produce between 470,000-490,000 ounces per annum. CCI invites industry representatives to attend the final CCI REPS Sundowner of 2011 to gain an insight into the future of this exciting resource project. AngloGold Ashanti Executive Vice President Australasia, Graham Ehm, will provide an overview of the Tropicana Gold Project along with an update on its status and an insight into potential opportunities for local industry. Guests will also have extensive opportunities to network with fellow industry representatives from the resource and energy sector in WA while enjoying a selection of gourmet canapes accompanied by premium Western Australian wines and beers.
