Page 4 4

Role of NANSC with EGNOS Page 5 5 NANSC is hosting two Ranging &Integrity & Monitoring RIMS stations. First RIMS station is located in north of Egypt in Alexandria International Airport and the second one is located in south of Egypt in Abu Simbel International airport. The Most important activities for NANSC towards RIMS stations are : It is in charge of the environment of the RIMS site and the provision of all hosting services (energy, air conditioning, security etc). it monitors and follows the commitments set up in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the ESSP to provide the hosting services and first line maintenance in the EGNOS services provision contract.

Role of NANSC with EGNOS (cont.) it raises Observation Reports (ORs) to the Master MCC on all aspects of the EGNOS RIMS operations. e.g procedures (documentation), processes, staff competency/skills, tools, hardware issues, software problems, and configuration issues. it executes the urgent maintenance support activities. it performs on a monthly basis periodic visual checks, cleaning and inspections of RIMS equipment according to the RIMS Maintenance Manual procedures. - it performs internal management of the RIMS organization and personnel in accordance with its local management regulations. -It is fully cooperate with ESSP & BT on all technical requirements of RIMS stations. Page 6 6

NANSC Ideas submitted to MEDUSA We submit some ideas to MEDUSA, e.g LPV implementation in Egypt. Full implementation of PBN in Cairo FIR using GNSS. Satellite-based black box tracking. Using E-GNSS. GPMS,GNSS performance monitoring system. Page 7 7

LPV implementation in Egypt LPV :Lateral precision with vertical guidance OR localizer performance with vertical guidance (SBAS) Page 8 8 Supported by Space Based Augmentation (EGNOS in Europe, WAAS in US) Lateral positioning +/-40m Vertical Positioning +/-50 m Capability available throughout SBAS Service Volume with no ground equipment at airports LPV 200 An upgrade of LPV comparable with ILS CATI Performance Available in Europe from 2014

LPV implementation in Egypt NANSC aims to : Provide technical support to certification of new GNSS service provision in the aviation domain in the MEDA region. Support the introduction of GNSS service in MEDA & Africa region. LPV procedure design for Egypt airports. Promoting the implementation of LPV procedures at Egypt international airports using EGNOS SiS. Continue to collaborate with the Euromed GNSS project and liaise with the GEMCO in its second stage. Liaise with the EC regarding the progress and opportunities related to the gradual introduction of E-GNSS services in MEDA & Africa regions ASAP. Page 9 9

LPV implementation in Egypt (Justification) Page 10 10 -preparing the PBN implementation plan. -Executing ICAO recommendations and resolutions on this regard. -Implementation of approach procedures with vertical guidance, APV using augmented GNSS. -Implementation of straight-in LNAV procedures. -Catching MIDINPIRG GNSS strategy for short and medium term if possible. -Extending EGNOS covering area to MEDA & Africa region. -Promotion of GNSS European systems in the MEDA and Africa region.

NANSC commitment toward GEMCO in its second stage Page 11 11 NANSC is very pleased to : - Introduce any required support to GEMCO regarding human resources in all required aspects. -Continue to collaborate with the Euromed GNSS project in its second stage and liaise with the GEMCO in all institutional required matters. -Contribute with ideas for GEMCO s objectives/work plan and future cooperation. -We are intending to introduce of any logistic services for any future expected aviation demonstrations in MEDA or Africa regions.

Important note about future certification for EGNSS in MEDA & Africa Regions. It is now well-known that the iono-spheric conditions over Africa and Middle East are very different from European ones and we will need adaptation of the correction algorithms. That is mean, for any future demonstrations in the MEDA or Africa region shall take into account new integrity algorithm. Consequently, we will be in need to new ICAO certification for EGNOS extension coverage above MEDA and Africa Regions. Page 13 13
