Well done to John, John and George for attending the Ring of Red. Thanks to Steve Ryder for organizing our last social night. We went to a lovely Caribbean Restaurant in Blackburn called Calypso. It was good food and although only 8 of us it was a really nice night. Mick Price is willing to organize a social event for January/February so we will build this into the calendar that we will do as normal over Christmas ready for the January meeting. Any ideas please let me know asap so we can get some dates and events booked in with organisers at the side of them please. Just so you know Jo and I have had to move house so we are in temporary accommodation (caravan) until our house is ready and our bikes are in storage so we cannot attend anything on them for a while and have been a little tied up with moving all our gear into storage as well hence why no newsletter last month. All mail is being redirected but please do not visit us at Borden Close as we are no longer there. We will keep you posted when we move. Sarah and I attended the National AGM last weekend. Remember it is our Centre Xmas Party on Friday 7 th December and currently we have 17 guests coming and only 24 of our own members which is a little concerning. We may have to rethink next year and have a meal instead as we need about 60 to ensure we have a good atmosphere at St Chads so please let Jo know if you are coming please and remember bring a guest, it s only 5 but we need to know in advance for catering. Centre 6 have 8 attending the German Rally. Centre 6 Rally in 2020 Bob and I attended Manor Farm in Tattenhall and Kendal Rugby Club for potential venues for our rally in 2020. After speaking with the committee and some members of the Centre at recent events it seems that Kendal Rugby Club is the place for us. Manor Farm was a great venue but very open to the elements and if the weather was bad there is no where to get warm or keep dry as such. The catering was expensive and only until 6.00pm and then we had to get a catering unit. To cater for caravans and motorhomes this would have been additional cost of 15-20 per night so again this would not entice members to attend. We also had to get our own bar which Bob and I did whilst there but he was very honest in saying that if he got a larger event come up we would be dropped so this was a worry. I think it may be worth revisiting in a few years when manor farm have done a few more events as this is new to them as well but for now it is not the venue for VSOC. Kendal Rugby Club is a new venue, it s got everything we need and at a good cost. Total cost for the venue is 800 and this includes the portaloos. Showers are plentiful and clean, Inside reception for check in, good camping field, plenty of room for bikes, cars and motorhomes/caravans and they really want us to be there hence getting a reduction in the cost. We also invited them to contact other venues for references so we are pleased with the outcome and I am sure being the gateway to the Lakes we will entice a few Southerners up here especially in July.

Write Up Ring of Red Sunday 11/11/18 there was a few of us from Centre 6 doing the Ring of Red on the M60 but due to illness and other things it ended up that myself and John Taylor meeting at McDonald's. We were the only ones that were doing it. Quick coffee and a chat to fellow bikers and we both set off to Birch services, pulled in Birch services, John needed fuel so we fuelled up and went back to join everyone else. The services had been sectioned off with lanes, MUCH BETTER than previous years. We were just going to have a look at the merchandise when I felt my phone starting to ring by the time I managed to get to it my phone had gone off then I heard someone shouting IT'S me, me, being George Brunt, he had made it through the pain. We bought some stuff one of my mates Tony Glover (Pitbull) who was there doing a Blu from RTTW. I had a quick chat to him and found out that besides saluting all of us out he was going to the Veterans garage to salute us In. Quick chat with John & George to see if we were going to the Veterans garage, they said it was up to me so off we started. We completed the M60 ring of red then a quick trip back to the Veterans garage to be saluted in. When we left there it was a ride over to the monthly meeting, luckily the weather held off for us all day. Nice day had by all. 2303 started off at Birch Services and as the last ones were leaving the first were coming back in, excellent turn out for the centenary. Ride Safe John H
