Sotuta de Peon Live Hacienda This excursion is a trip to the past in which you will experience the best moments of the hacienda that was built in the 1800s. Sotuta de Peon Live Hacienda, is the result of a restoration project of a monument located in the heart of the old henequen zone in the state of Yucatan, and gives a real insight into what was once a fully functioning henequen hacienda in the grand style and tradition of its time. When touring Sotuta de Peon, you will literally travel in time, transported in wooden platforms called Trucks, which are pulled by mules on ancient rails of Cauville, as originally used by workers. Here, you will witness the process, step by step of the transformation of the Henequen (or the Green Gold, as it was known in the whole region), from the plant to the fiber and from the fiber to the finished product.
