YOKOHAMA, JAPAN, SEPTEMBER 7-11, 2015 Third Announcement August 21, 2015 Dear Colleagues, This is the third announcement for the 13th Heavy Ion Accelerator Technology Conference (HIAT2015), which will be held in Yokohama, Japan from September 7 to 11, 2015. The conference will be hosted by RIKEN Nishina Center. Scientific Program The conference program is available at the Conference website: http://www.rarf.riken.jp/hiat2015/program/agenda.html http://www.rarf.riken.jp/hiat2015/program/poster_session.html Author Information Oral presentations The invited talks are given 25 for presentation + 5 for discussion, whereas the time allotted for contributed oral presentation is 17 for presentation + 3 for discussion. Speakers are kindly requested to upload the files of their presentations by 15:00 on the day before your session date. Poster presentations Posters shall have a maximum width of 90 cm and be at least 80 cm x 100 cm in size. Posters should be set up before the opening session in the Monday morning so participants may be visited during the first coffee break. Posters mounting material will be provided by the Secretariat. It is possible to set up your poster during the reception on Sunday evening (16:00 18:00). All the posters will be kept on the board during the whole conference period. Two poster sessions will be held on Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Authors should attend to their posters through the poster session period. All the posters are expected to be removed after the closing session so that participants may visit during the coffee break in the Friday morning. The deadline for the receipt of contributions to the Proceedings of HIAT2015 is: Saturday, September 5th 2015, 24:00 JST Papers for both contributed oral and poster presentations may be up to 3 pages long; only invited oral presentations may be up to 5 pages. Access to the Conference Venue The venue, WORKPIA YOKOHAMA ( ワークピア横浜 ) can be accessed by one of the following stations on Minatomirai line ( みなとみらい線 : http://www.mm21railway.co.jp/global/english/), a subway connecting Yokohama station ( 横浜駅 ) to Motomachi-Chukagai station ( 元町 中華街駅 ): (1) 5 minutes walk from Exit 3 ( 出口 3) of Nihon-odori station ( 日本大通り駅 ) (2) 8 minutes walk from Exit 1 ( 出口 1) of Motomachi-Chukagai station ( 元町 中華街駅 ) Please have a look at the map below for the routes to the venue from the stations. You can also find how to access on the following URL with Google map: http://www.rarf.riken.jp/hiat2015/venue.html Conference Reception Welcome reception will be held at the conference venue in the Sunday evening (16:00 18:00). Some drinks and snacks will be served. You can set up your poster during the reception. Conference Dinner The conference dinner is scheduled for the Wednesday evening (19:00 21:00) at Hotel New Grand. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the conference venue. Information on the hotel can be found at the following website: http://www.hotel-newgrand.co.jp/english/ Conference Outings Participants and companions are welcome to a half-day bus trip to Kamakura in the Thursday afternoon. Kamakura, a coastal town located about 20 km south of Yokohama, used to be a political center of Japan from 1192 to 1333. We will visit Kotokuin Temple, The Great Buddha ( 大仏殿高徳院 ), Tsurugoka Hachimangu Shrine ( 鶴岡八幡宮 ), and Hase Kannon Temple ( 長谷寺 ). Lunch box will be provided in the bus. For more information, please visit the conference website: http://www.rarf.riken.jp/hiat2015/program/social.html RIKEN Visit We will visit RI Beam Factory (RIBF), located in the Wako Campus of RIKEN on Friday afternoon. The Superconducting Ring Cyclotron and other experimental apparatus will be shown during the visit. Lunch box will be provided in the bus. The bus will take you back to Yokohama after the visit. Companion Program Yokohama is a large city in the Tokyo Bay area and has many world-class tourist attractions (http://www.welcome.city.yokohama.jp/eng/travel/). A program of tours to the most interesting sites in the Yokohama area will be offered to companions during the conference and information will be provided to those planning to visit the city before or after the conference.
