As a reminder, for this really LOW PRICE, you get amazing trips, fun meetings (even ones that come with food!), cool people to hang out with, and the ability to say I ve been to a lot of great places! Prez Sez. Inside this Issue Next Meeting Tuesday, Sept. 5 Harbor Hills C.C. 244 Freeman Memorial Dr. Hebron, OH 43025 6 pm - 9 pm I hope everyone is enjoying these last days of summer and that anyone they know in south Texas is safe. I m having to cut the grass and do those outside chore that I like so much. Our membership renewal meeting and college football are both starting within the next week, and before you know it, we will be raking leaves and preparing for the upcoming winter. According to my bones, we will be having an Ohio-style winter this winter. There are only 5 spots left for the Amish Country Wine & Cheese Tour, so you need to get your payment in and plan for a great time in October. Then there are three more fun Social Hours planned. Thank you Roy and Nancy! There are still a few spots open for Spain, which is an amazing looking. If you can go, you will not regret it, especially as it will be warm fun in the sun and cold fun skiing on the mountain (if you want) in the Spanish Riviera. We are also still looking for an Activities Board Member if anyone is interested, and some events for next winter and spring. Remember the club is only as strong as its members. Payment is due in full at time of sign up For more information, contact: Nancy Channell, Trip Leader Email: nanyc50@twc.com Phone: 740-501-5234 From the Membership Director: At the September meeting, you will need to fill out the 2017-18 Membership Renewal Form and a Payment Coupon to renew your membership. You can pay the reasonable fee by cash, check, or credit card at that time. Once you have turned in your forms and made your payment, you will receive a drink ticket, which will be immediately usable at the bar, and a membership card, which will be usable at many places throughout the year. You can print up the forms, fill them out, and turn them in when you get to the meeting to help save time; forms will also be provided at the meeting. Your NSC membership card is your ID to obtain ski discounts at participating businesses and to partake in discounted ski and social events. The 2017-2018 New Membership Form as well as the Payment Coupon (which is on the bottom of page 5) will need to be filled by any new members joining the club. You may also print up, fill out, and bring this form to September Membership Renewal Meeting, or you may fill out these forms, which will be made available, at that meeting. We ask for your diligence and accuracy in completion of the correct forms to obtain the current NSC membership card. Please facilitate a smooth transition for any new member you are sponsoring by printing the NEW MEM- BERSHIP FORM and the Payment Coupon of the current year. This will ensure that all our paperwork is up-to-date and the correct information & payment has been provided. Kay Morrison Membership Director

Page 3 THE INSIDE EDGE THE INSIDE Page EDGE 3 SEPT. S MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL MEETING September 5th, 2017 The Membership Renewal Meeting is Tuesday, September 5th at Harbor Hills County Club on Buckeye Lake. As always, this meeting will be catered and will be busy. Dinner will be provided by Kroger catering, and we would love it if you brought a small desert. We will be providing sandwiches, fruit, veggies, deviled eggs, mozzarella-tomato salad, chips, fiesta dip, and pudding cakes. We, the board, would like to thank everyone who is always ready to jump in and help with a dish at all these meetings where we eat; without y all, the selection would not be quite so yummy! Membership Renewal in 4 easy steps: 1. Fill out your Renewal Form and sign it. 2. Fill out a payment coupon. 3. Hand these forms and your payment for your renewal fee to either Kay or Elaine at the table near the door. The Renewal fees are $30 for a single, $50 for a family. 4. Page 4 THE INSIDE EDGE THE INSIDE Page EDGE Page 4 4 OVSC SPAIN TRIP to GRANADA & the COSTA DEL SOL March 10-23, 2018 This trip is an amazing 4 days in Granada & Sierra Nevada followed by 4 days in Torremolinos, Costa del Sol. Flights will be round trip (of, course!) from Ohio cities to Malaga, Spain. Your stay in Granada will feature a gala party, daily breakfasts, and 3 days of trips into the Sierra Nevadas. Other optional day trips might tour Granada & the Alhambra, the Tropical Coast & Nerja Caves, Alpujarras & Cordoba, or taking in a Flamenco show. In Torremolinas (a suburb of Malaga), you will enjoy daily breakfasts and possibly take day trips to tour Ronda, Gibraltar, Tangiers, or Malaga. Of course, you can always just opt to take a day out to lay on the beach & work on your winter tan. The price will be approximately $2,300 per person for double occupancy (subject to change based on currency exchange). For those interested, there can also be an extension trip to Barcelona. This would add 4 nights in Barcelona. Your flights would be into and out of Barcelona. Transportation will also include travel to the hotel, to the train station, 2nd class round trip tickets to Malaga and back. This trip will add approximately $800 per person, based on double occupancy. There are only 12 spots left for this trip in total, and we need 3 more NSC members to join so that we can make our 10 needed to be able to leave from Columbus rather than ton. A deposit of $750 and a copy of your passport is required ASAP. This is an amazing offer at a really great price and time of the year temperature-wise. You will enjoy yourself! THE SOCIAL HOURS FOR 2017 SEPTEMBER We will finish our Summer Social Hour schedule at PapaBoo s on scenic Buckeye Lake (11356 Avondale Rd, Thornville) Friday, September 22nd, starting around 4pm. Cody Marshall will be performing until 11pm, so there will be a great chance to eat, drink, dance, and have fun with friends. We hope to see you come out for this great monthly event, and don t forget the bug spray! OCTOBER On Friday, October 13 we will meet up around 6pm at the Autumn Rush Vineyard and Winery in Johnstown (5686 Dutch Lane). Please bring a snack to share, as they have no food there. They have a very large deck outside and plenty of room inside, in case of weather. They just opened six weeks ago and have very good wine and beautiful scenery! We decided to add this one even though we have the Amish Country Wine & Cheese Tour for those unable to join us on the 21st. So, please, come explore this great new place in Johnstown with us! NOVEMBER We will finish out the year by stopping by Tequilaville Restaurant, at 1225 W. Church St. in Newark, for some great Mexican and fellowship on Friday, November 11th starting at 5 p.m. Come out for fun and margaritas!!!
