SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS Applications Available March 4 Application deadline May 24 Thanks to the Camp Knickerbocker Fund at the BRYMCA and the annual Stackhouse Event at the CLC YMCA, we are able to offer camp scholarships. We believe that all children in our community, regardless of income, deserve the opportunity to experience summer camp. Financial assistance is available. Please visit your home YMCA website to download the camp scholarship application. Scholarship dollars are granted on a firstcome, first-serve basis. Please submit applications early. epact This summer, we are using epact, a secure network, to collect campers medical and emergency contact information electronically. epact also ensures we have a way to communicate with you in the event of an illness, injury or larger scale emergency. Once you register for camp online, expect to receive an email invite from epact within a week. Please set up your account, enter the required information, upload your child s immunization records and sign the e-waiver as well as a photo release form. Your camp registration will not be considered complete until you have completed the required information in epact. CANCELLATION POLICY Camps are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not reached. Cancellation decisions will be made two weeks prior to the camp session. PAYMENTS All fees are due at the time of registration. Payment plan options are available. Payment plan dates run from camp registration through the Friday before the first day of camp. All payment plans MUST be paid in full prior to the first day of camp. CHANGE FEES & REFUND POLICY A $25.00 change fee will be applied for any change to an existing registration. This fee applies to cancellations, changes in weeks, camps or campers. The balance is due at the time of the change. A full refund minus a $25.00 change fee will be given provided the cancellation is at least one week prior to the camp session start date. YMCA MEMBERSHIP Campers who are members of either of our YMCAs receive discount rates on camps. The camper must be on an active Family Membership (annual or minimum 1-month seasonal) to receive the Family Member Rate. Seasonal Youth Members with a minimum of 1-month membership are eligible for the Member rate. Cottage memberships are also eligible for the Member rate. 3

BOOTHBAY CRITTER CAMP Day Camp for Ages 3-4 Location: Boothbay Region YMCA Child Enrichment Center Critter Camp is designed to provide socialization and educational growth through fun-filled activities focused on the unique developmental stages of preschool children. Activities are planned around a weekly theme and are focused on having fun and learning through practical life activities, immersive curriculum, and sensory explorations. We will spend time on our own natural playground, grow a garden, create art, go on picnics, use books and language to learn about our themes, have fun swimming at the Y, discover math concepts in everyday activities, play at the beach and park, learn about health and nutrition, play educational games, perform science experiments, visit our community helpers, visit Camp K to enjoy Y-Arts shows, and so much more. Pack a lunch and a bathing suit and get ready for a great summer! Critter Camp is open to our Child Enrichment Center families, YMCA members and the general public. Space is limited, so early registration is essential. Only children ages three and four may attend Critter Camp. Younger children are encouraged to register for our half day toddler program. Older children are welcome at Camp K through the Scamper Camp program. SCAMPER CAMP Day Camp for Students entering Kindergarten Location: Camp Knickerbocker, 157 Barters Island Road, Boothbay This program is intended for youth entering Kindergarten. Scamper campers enjoy the traditional day camp setting with participation in all that Camp Knickerbocker has to offer. Scamper campers must be toilet trained. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Family Member $175 Member $185 Non Member $215 WACKY WEDNESDAYS This new camp tradition encourages our campers to be creative and silly at Camp K! CAMP KNICKERBOCKER Day Camp for Ages 6-12 Location: Camp Knickerbocker, 157 Barters Island Road, Boothbay Situated on an expansive landscape of forests, wetlands, and beautiful Knickerbocker Lake, adventure and friendship can be found around every bend at Camp Knickerbocker! Camp Knickerbocker campers become part of a neighborhood of friends where potential is nurtured, achievements are celebrated, and exploration is encouraged. Campers will develop skills through a diverse curriculum of traditional camp activities that encourage youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We strive to ensure that campers develop leadership skills and self-esteem and grow personally through character building opportunities in a structured and positive environment. Every Monday morning at the Camp K Checkpoint, campers will be assigned to a group of youth similar in age and ability. The purpose of weekly rotating groups is to encourage our campers to branch out making new friends and meeting new staff members. CAMP KNICKERBOCKER SCHEDULE Monday-Friday 9am-3pm Camp Knickerbocker is organized into 5 block sessions lasting approximately 45 minutes each. The first 4 blocks are scheduled activities campers participate in with their assigned pod counselors, while the fifth block is an elective block that campers sign up for daily during lunch. TEEN LEADERSHIP Where Role Models are Made! Location: Camp Knickerbocker, 157 Barters Island Road, Boothbay REGISTER NOW! See page 3 The LIT and CIT programs provide one of the critical building blocks towards successfully making the transition from camper to counselor. This experience is designed to provide leadership opportunities that prepare teens to not only become staff members at camp, but to also become productive members and volunteers in their communities. Participants will work side by side with camp directors and camp staff to lead daily camp activities. Additionally, they will join forces with local organizations to volunteer in and around the region. CAMP KNICKERBOCKER LEADERS-IN-TRAINING (LIT): AGE 13 FOUR WEEK SESSIONS: JUNE 24-JULY 19, JULY 22-AUGUST 16 The LIT program is designed to begin a career in leadership with discussions and activities about types of leadership; communication styles and methods; service work; and team-building. LITs will participate in daily camp activities and are expected to work side by side with camp staff. LIT Session Fee (4 weeks) Family Member $250 Member $300 Non Member $400 CAMP KNICKERBOCKER COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING (CIT): AGE 14-15 FOUR WEEK SESSIONS: JUNE 24-JULY 19, JULY 22-AUGUST 16 This CIT program will focus on teaching styles, delivery methods, communication techniques, and planning preparation. CITs must be strong, independent and focused on helping make a better community for all. With this, they will gain valuable hands-on experience working with youth and leading programs and activities. CITs will participate in daily camp activities and are expected to work side by side with camp staff. All CIT applicants must meet with day camp director Roosevelt Bishop prior to attending the program. He can be reached via email at rbishop@brymca.org. CIT Session Fee (4 weeks): FREE Y-ARTS LEADERS-IN-TRAINING (AGE 13) & COUNSELORS-IN-TRAINING (AGES 14-15) TWO WEEK SESSIONS: JUNE 24-JULY 6, JULY 8-19, JULY 22-AUGUST 2, AUGUST 12-23 *Prerequisite: Attended the Boothbay YMCA Theatre Camp in previous summers or completed an interview with Director, Emily Mirabile. This new program is designed for youth interested in continuing their dedication to the Arts at the YMCA. Theatre Camp LITs and CITs will work with the Theatre Camp Staff to take on more of a leadership role at camp while still enjoying the perks of being a camper. Theatre Camp LITs and CITs will perform in Theatre Camp shows as well as participate in daily Theatre Camp activities. CLC SAILING CAMP Day Camp for Grades 3-9 Location: 34 R-33, Round Pond CLC SAILING CAMP REGISTRATION To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to attend Sailing Camp, registration is limited to 3 weeks per camper until April 8. At that time, we will open registration to additional weeks as available. SAILING CAMP FOR GRADES 3-9 LOCATED IN ROUND POND, ME The CLC Y would like to welcome Sam Stephenson as the new Sailing Camp Director. Sam is looking forward to working with youth campers this summer, teaching fundamentals and more! Enjoy a summer of fun learning how to sail. Our staff of experienced instructors will teach your kids a lifetime of skills in our fleet of 14 dinghies. No experience necessary. Kids should be comfortable in the water. CAMP SCHEDULE Weekly Sessions: June 24-August 23 Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm Family Member $285 Member $320 Non Member $355 Maximum weekly limit is 30 campers, except the week of July 4 with a limit of 20, and August 19 with a limit of 18. *July 4th week prorated; no camp July 4. Friday, July 5 will be a family day. Each registered camper is invited to bring a family member to join in the fun, take a sail, learn about the boats, and experience what happens at sailing camp. SAILING CAMP LEADERS-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM (LIT) Requirements: Must be 14 years old or older to apply. Round Pond sailing experience. Recommendation from Sailing Camp Director Sam Stephenson. Interested LITs should contact Sam via email at sstephenson@clcymca.org. After approval, registration can be completed by contacting the Camp Registrar at 633-2855 or campregistrar@brymca.org. Maximum weekly limit is 12, except week of July 4 with a limit of 8, and August 19 with a limit of 5. LIT WEEKLY FEE Family Member $230 Member $260 Non Member $305 CAMP PHONE NUMBER 207.529.4133 (June 24-August 23) Sam Stephenson, New Sailing Camp Director Sam has been involved at Sailing Camp since 2004, starting out as a camper and gradually climbing the ranks to Head Instructor in 2018. Sam graduated from Keene State College in May of 2018 with a BA in Studio Art, and has been teaching art to adults and children at an art studio in Pelham, New Hampshire. He is passionate about teaching and helping others learn and grow, and can t wait to see all the new and familiar faces this summer! 8 NEW ADULT SAILING CAMP: July 29 August 2 and August 5 August 9 Monday Thursday 3:30 6pm Ever wonder what is like at the Y sailing camp in Round Pond? Now you have the opportunity to experience what the youth sailors experience on a daily basis. Join Jaja Martin and other camp staff and explore the Round Pond Harbor. 8 spots available per week for adult sailing camp. CAMP FEE Member $170 Non Member $190 Registration through CLC YMCA

ADVENTURE CAMPS MAINE EXPLORERS, Ages 8-14 Location: Camp Knickerbocker, 157 Barters Island Road, Boothbay Summer adventure camps in small groups explore the best Maine has to offer. Camps are for children ages 8-14 and run from 9am-3pm.Some camps include overnight excursions. Minimum 6, maximum 13 campers; see page 3 for cancellation policy. Campers will spend their days hiking regional trails, fishing, and boating at Camp Knickerbocker and other locations. Campers will enjoy a sleepover with their counselors, experiencing the best our wilderness has to offer in a safe and supportive environment. SURVIVOR CAMP: July 8-12 This camp is designed for those campers who welcome challenge and adventure! Campers will overcome fun trials through team building and basic survival skills. Our goal is to foster leadership and build positive thinking skills for our campers future. This camp includes an overnight at Camp K and structured time at the Baldwin Adventure Center. AQUA ADVENTURE: July 22-26 Our campers will make a splash exploring some of Maine s incredible wildlife and marine wonders. Field trips include Aquaboggan, Maine Wildlife Park, DEW Haven and other regional swimming holes. For the fish in your family, this is the camp for them. (This camp does not include an overnight.) LIGHTHOUSE & BEACH EXPLORATION: August 5-9 Join our adventure staff in a fun week of field trips to regional lighthouses and swimming at various beach locations. From Reid State Park to the Pemaquid Lighthouse, this is sure to be a week of fun in the sun exploring the Midcoast of Maine! (This camp does not include an overnight.) 9

MUSIC THEATRE CAMP Day Camp for Ages 6-12; 2 week sessions Location: Camp Knickerbocker, 157 Barters Island Road, Boothbay Additional rehearsals: Boothbay Region YMCA and CLC YMCA Performance location: The Lincoln Theater, Damariscotta Immerse yourself in the art of musical theatre at our twoweek day camp. Our YMCA Music Theatre Camp focuses on all areas of the dramatic arts. Campers will work in age-appropriate groups to learn acting and performance skills, theatre games, and improve their singing and dancing. Campers also enjoy traditional day camp activities including swimming and sports. Along with improving their theatre skills, campers will participate in the Theatre Olympics and rehearse and perform a fully staged Broadway Junior musical. Productions for the 2019 season will be chosen from the following shows (not necessarily in this order) and announced on the first day of each session. With THANKS to our community partner! THEATRE CAMP PERFORMANCES The first Friday of each session, campers will perform a preview performance of their upcoming musical at 2:30pm on the Centennial Lake Stage at Camp K. The second Wednesday of each session, campers will give performances of their musical for the session at 1pm and 4pm at the Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta. In a continued collaboration, youth will spend time at the Theater over the course of the session to rehearse for their production. With the exception of the day of the show, all pickups and drop-offs are at Camp Knickerbocker. Thursday and Friday of the second week of each session campers will spend time competing in the Theatre Camp Olympics. 10

In 2017 Y-Arts premiered the new musical Scary School by composer Joel Biron. Join us this summer as we film a movie musical sequel to Biron's original show. Campers will work with Y-Arts staff to learn the new songs and scenes and travel to various locations around the state to film the movie. This twoweek camp will conclude with a short preview of the movie on the Lincoln Theater big screen. The full movie will be premiered at the Lincoln Theater on August 23. Along with rehearsing for the show, campers will spend time singing, dancing and playing theatre games. The week will end with a performance for family and friends on the stage in Camp Knickerbocker Lodge. MUSIC VIDEO CAMP, Ages 6-12 August 5-9, 12:30pm-3:30pm Location: Boothbay Region YMCA Annex In this energizing camp, participants will come together to create and film music videos. During the week, campers will be divided into groups to produce an outline, create choreography and shoot their video. This full-day specialty camp is intended for kids who are new to the sport and are looking for a positive first experience with archery and riflery. Campers will learn the basics of each sport and get hands on instruction and practice with equipment appropriate to their age. Additional activities will include target making and various fun shoots (balloon shoots, etc). Participants will also enjoy swimming in Lake Knickerbocker. JUNIOR NATURALIST CAMP: July 15-19 & August 12-16, 9am-12pm Ages 6-10 Campers will travel by bus to local Land Trust Properties to discover the wonders of the natural world through play and exploration on our local preserves. A Naturalist from Boothbay Region Land Trust will offer a variety of activities that connect children to the outdoors: dip nets in a pond to see what critters call it home, adopt a tree, build a survival shelter, investigate a rotting log, create nature art, and many more adventures in this camp. FRONTIER CAMP: July 15-19 & July 29-August 2, 12:30-3:30pm Ages 8-12 The Wilderness of Maine is right at hand at Camp K. Whether it is our extensive hiking trails or exploring Jackson Island on Lake Knickerbocker, the trailblazer in your family will love Frontier Camp.
