All of our camps are designed to make summer fun, exciting, and safe while focusing on the Y s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. TRADITIONAL CAMP Full-Day Traditional Camps for ages 5-10 Offered All Sessions MEM $200 PRO $230 In our traditional camps, we use challenging and fun activities that feature weekly themes, promote personal growth and encourage campers to have fun with their friends. Our qualified, trained counselors will lead activities that will help build your camper s self-confidence, develop their social skills, teach them teamwork, deepen their respect for others and build lasting friendships. Traditional camp includes age-appropriate activities including canoe rides, swimming, arts & crafts, group games, fort building, archery, sling shots and much more.
SPECIALTY CAMP Specialty Camps for ages 5-10 MEM: $235/session PRO: $255/session Campers will spend three hours each day in their specialty camp, while also having the opportunity to enjoy traditional camp activities. Splash Camp ages 5-6: Do you love the water? Come and cool off for a week at our new Splash Camp. Campers will participate in everything from basic water safety, boating activities, water games, and swim time. This camp will not require a swim test. Sessions 4 & 10 Cheer/Tumble Camp ages 5-10: Designed for children of all levels and abilities. Young athletes will dive into the world of tumbling and cheer by learning by being introduced to the basics of gymnastics on floor, beam and vault. They will also learn cheers and incorporate the tumbling into their cheers. All Sessions Art Camp ages 5-10: Exciting hands-on activities allow campers to complete inspirational art projects, meet creative challenges and spark their imaginations! Campers will unleash their creativity as they explore and investigate their own thoughts, feelings and ideas through drawing, painting, and other artistic mediums. Sessions 2 & 7
SPECIALTY CAMP Specialty Camps for ages 5-14 MEM: $235/session PRO: $255/session Campers will spend three hours each day in their specialty camp, while also having the opportunity to enjoy traditional camp activities. STEM Camps ages 5-14: Provided by Bricks4Kidz, campers will explore exciting STEM-based learning. Through collaboration, campers will expand their problem-solving and teamwork skills. STEM/LEGO Camp ages 5-8: Each week campers will work on a different LEGO build. All Sessions STEM/Robotics Camp ages 9-14: Campers will learn aspects of programming, mechanical, electrical, and control systems engineering while building their own robots. Projects will progress throughout the week. All Sessions Outdoor Science Camp ages 5-14: Did you know you can cook food in a shoebox? Have you ever built your own sundial or lava lamp? These are just a couple of activities we will be doing this week! Provided by the Chattahoochee Nature Center, campers will be introduced to a newfound love of science through easy and simple science/nature experiments. Sessions 3 & 9 Drama Camp ages 5-14: Provided by a Theater Reenactment Actor, campers will learn the fine art of drama and theater. Kids will learn theater terminology, stage prep and even learn small parts to a production that will be filmed on Friday at the end of camp. Sessions 3, 5 & 8
SPECIALTY CAMP Specialty Camps for ages 7-10 MEM: $235/session PRO: $255/session Campers will spend three hours each day in their specialty camp, while also having the opportunity to enjoy traditional camp activities. Spy Camp ages 7-10: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to hone your spy skills through forensic classes, obstacle courses, and covert training. These campers will learn to take fingerprints, become masters of disguise, and utilize clues to excel in their craft. Campers are sure to have a blast in this top secret training program. Sessions 2 & 9 Pinewood Derby Camp ages 7-10: A chance for campers to build and race their very own pinewood derby car. Each camper will receive a personal kit! A local pinewood derby expert will provide helpful tips and tricks for the campers as they build and construct their race cars and prepare for race day! Sessions 4 & 8
SPECIALTY CAMP Specialty Camps for ages 7-14 MEM: $235/session PRO: $255/session Campers will spend three hours each day in their specialty camp, while also having the opportunity to enjoy traditional camp activities. Climbing Adventure ages 7-14: Provided by certified climbing instructors/competitors, this camp is for kids who really love to climb and want to bring their skills to the next level. Whether you ve never climbed before and want to learn to do it right or are already an avid climber and want to get further into the sport, you ll find your place in this camp. We offer a full spectrum of instruction, from beginner to lead climber. Learn commands, knots, and develop proper climbing skills. Session 3 (for ages 11-14 only) & Session 10 (for all) Cooking Camp ages 7-14: This camp, provided by a Good Measure Meals nutritionist, will not only teach campers fun ways to cook with what you have in a simple environment, it will also help guide them through nutritional avenues in helping make smart choices. Sessions 4 & 7
SPECIALTY CAMP Specialty Camps for ages 11-14 MEM: $235/session PRO: $255/session Campers will spend three hours each day in their specialty camp, while also having the opportunity to enjoy traditional camp activities. Jr. Lifeguard Camp ages 11-14: This is not a lifeguard certification class, but it is a program designed to introduce campers to the necessary skills and knowledge that they will need to become lifeguards and leaders in the future. The program focuses on five key areas: prevention of aquatic accidents, fitness and swimming skills, response in an emergency, leadership skills, and professionalism. All participants must be able to swim 25 yards, and have some familiarity with treading water. Sessions 2 & 8 Babysitting & Jr. CPR Camp ages 11-14: Participants will learn basic skills necessary for babysitting including feeding, diapering, holding, and emergency response. This is the ideal class for the first time babysitter as well as helping to prepare the babysitter for an emergency situation. This camp will be taught by a certified instructor and will include Jr. CPR & First Aid which will cover CPR & First Aid skills a babysitter should know. Sessions 5 & 9
SPECIALTY CAMP Specialty Camps for ages 11-14 MEM: $235/session PRO: $255/session Campers will spend three hours each day in their specialty camp, while also having the opportunity to enjoy traditional camp activities. Specialist-In-Training Camp ages 11-14: Learn the ropes, literally, at Camp Big Creek. Our camp provides specialized activities to all of Camp Big Creek with the help of specialists. This specialty is designed to teach you the ropes, high and low, canoeing, archery, climbing wall, etc. in an intense and intentional atmosphere through that of a certified instructor type of course. Session 1 Survivor Camp ages 11-14: This camp will provide experience and knowledge about wilderness exploration, nature awareness and basic survivalist skills from a specialist who has in depth knowledge in survivor skills and backpacking. Activities include outdoor cooking, shelter creation, hiking and wildlife observation. Sessions 4 & 7
SPECIALTY CAMP OWL Program ages 5-14: This program is designed for the camper with special needs and or developmental delays. The OWL program, functions with a 1:3 staff to child ratio and fosters the core development of those we serve by engaging children in therapeutic and recreational activities designed to promote independence and confidence in small group settings. Swimming Swinging Art Climbing Obstacle Courses Nature Offered All Session MEM: $235 PRO: $255 Monday Friday, 7:00 am - 6:30 pm Space is very limited! Camp Swim Lessons Add-On ages 5-8: Learn to swim during camp with one of our experienced swim instructors. They will ensure that your child will have a fun, educational experience that will boost their self-confidence. Child must be registered in camp the week of the lesson. Sessions 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 & 9 45-minute lessons Monday-Thursday MEM: $45 PRO: $65 as an add-on class when you are registering for any traditional camp session
SPORTS CAMP Sports Camps for ages 5-14 MEM: $235 PRO: $255 Campers will spend three hours each day in their sports camp, while also having the opportunity to enjoy traditional camp activities. Sports Camps ages 5-14: Sports Camp will be lead by a sportsspecific specialist that will have an in-depth background in their sport in order to provide an amazing experience for your child. We will focus on a different sport each week with an emphasis on skill development and team building. Session 1: All American Sports Session 7: Basketball Session 2: Soccer Session 3: Basketball Session 4: Flag Football Session 8: Session 9: Session 10: Flag Football Soccer All American Sports Session 5: Soccer Session 6: All American Sports
TEEN LEADERSHIP CAMP Teen Camps for ages 13-16 Monday Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Navigators ages 13-14: Teens will be introduced to our leadership program by having opportunities to assist in leading activities to younger campers. Campers will also have a leadership class each week to help prepare them for the next level in the ALA program. They will also have the opportunity to participate in general camp activities such as climbing, outdoor education, themed group challenges, swimming, canoeing, and more. All Sessions MEM: $200 PRO: $230 Advanced Leaders Camp* (ALC) ages 14-15: Campers will learn first hand what it means to be a positive influence in the lives of others. Our ALCs will not only grow personally, but will impact the lives of the generation behind them through service projects, both on & off-site. They will also attend daily leadership classes to help prepare them for future roles. 2-week sessions Sessions 2-3, 4-5, 7-8 & 9-10 MEM: $325 PRO: $350 Leaders in Training* (LIT) ages 15-16: As we prepare LITs to be our future camp staff and leaders of tomorrow, these students will have the opportunity to use their skills at camp. LIT will be paired with a younger group and assist in leading games and building bonds with campers. These leaders will be evaluated by the head counselor to help them hone their skills. LITs will also have daily leadership classes to help prepare them for the future. 3-week sessions Sessions 2-4 & 7-9 MEM: $375 PRO: $400 * ALC and LITs must complete an interview process to be accepted into those camps. REGISTRATION INFO in person at the Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA or online through our website. YMCA Membership: Camp prices are listed for YMCA Facility Members (MEM) and Program Members (PRO). Facility Members enjoy reduced rates as a benefit of membership. For those who wish to participate in Y programs without use of the facility, a YEARLY family program membership of $40 is required before registration in the program of choice. Become a facility member today and save up to $350 per child on camp for the entire summer. Learn more about the value of Y membership or stop by the branch for a tour of the facility. Facility memberships must remain current throughout the summer to qualify for MEM rates. Payment Methods: A non-refundable deposit of $5 is required for each week of camp. Cancellations must be made 2 weeks in advance of camp start date to receive a refund of the balance of payment. When registering for any of our day camp programs, you may choose from the following payment options. Pay in Full If you are registering for a session starting in less than 2 weeks, full payment is due when you register. Auto Draft Your credit card will be charged on the payment due date which is on the Monday two weeks before the camp session. Select this option at time of registration if you only want to pay the minimum deposit. You can update auto-draft info as needed.
REGISTRATION INFO Financial Assistance: We believe every child and family should have the opportunity to participate in any Y program. Those not able to pay the full fee may be awarded partial financial assistance based on their ability to pay and the Y s ability to fund the subsidy. Since demand is great, applications are due by April 15. If you would like to donate to help send a child to camp, visit our giving page. Camper Needs: Before camp, all campers must provide the following items: 1) Medical waiver 2) Authorized Camper Pickup Form 3) Copy of your child s shot records on the school health form (3231) Forms cannot be transferred from other Y programs. Campers should bring: Lunch in an insulated box & water bottle 2 snacks (due to food allergies no nuts, please) Swimsuit and towel Spray sunscreen and bug spray Important Dates: April 27...
