*Camp Fee : JPY 40,000 *Capacity : 25 (one or two per country) *Home staying: July 26-August 9, 2019 Applicants must be : 1. Those who are eager to take part in YCE program 2. Those who are interested in Japan, will try to learn Japanese language, understand Japanese ways of living and thinking, and adapt to them 3. Those who keep the camp rules of No smoking & No alcohol. 4. Those who will follow instructions of committee members, camp leaders and camp counselors 5. Those who wish to make friends with all campers who have various cultural backgrounds Participants qualifications : 1. 16 21 as of July 1, 2019 Speak Japanese or English to have general everyday communications 2. Should keep to the regulations of General Information & Rules. 3. Should not be physically or mentally disabled. 4. Must have an approval of their MD YCE Chairperson and must be sponsored by a Local Lions Club. 5. Must stay at the camp site or stay with MD333 (Niigata, Tochigi, Chiba, Gunma, Ibaraki Pref.) s host family during their stay in Japan. Participants must : a) Arrive at Narita International airport (NRT) or Tokyo International airport (HND) on July 18, 2019 (Participants will visit host family home after camp). b) Carry a medical (for sickness or injury) and liability insurance of their own. c) Bring your money or travelers checks for personal spending. US$ or Japanese yen are recommended. Some sorts of checks or minor currency may not be exchanged in Japan. d) Stay in the camp until the entire program is finished
How to apply First you must have an approval of their MD YCE Chairperson. And must be sponsored by a Local Lions Club. When it is finished please send the following documents by e-mail 1. Application form with a photo, signature of sponsored Lions Club president and MD YCE chairperson. 2. Copy of the passport to confirm his/her face and passport No. The Camp Committee will confirm these documents and Camp director will return e-mail of final acceptance to you. Then please send the following documents by e-mail. 3. Insurance policy copy 4. Self introduction letter to host family 5. Your family photo 6. Be sure to attach a copy of the E-ticket. * The dead line is 31 March, 2019. *Please inform us the flight schedule by 31 May, 2019. for Participants & Parents GENERAL INFORMATION & RULES 1. We expect you to conduct yourselves in accordance with the rules and regulations of the MD333 Youth Camp & home staying as follows. a) Show up in a meeting room 5 minutes before the meeting starts. b) The Camp Chairperson and the Committee Members are the counselors during the camp. All problems and needs must be reported to them immediately. c) It will not permitted for boys to enter girlsʼ rooms at any time or vice versa. d) No individual meals is not served except you have meal restrictions. All campers have the same meal at same time. e) Keep your rooms clean and make a bed. f) Do not make noise at hotels or condominiums. g) Drinking alcoholic beverages or smoking is not allowed during your stay in Japan. h) Driving a motor vehicle is not allowed. i) You must stay with assigned host families during your stay in Japan. (excepting the camp period) j) Bring your money for personal spending such as souvenirs, snacks, or some recreational activities. US$ or Japanese Yen are recommended. k) Itʼs very important to talk heartily each other and consider personsʼ feelings. l) You will meet many people in Japan. We suggest you to note their name and address in order to send them a thank-you letter after you go back home. 2. If you cause any troubles or do not keep the rules, MD333 Youth Camp Committee will let you return to your home country immediately. 3. You are not allowed to stay in any other places except host families before & after the camp. You must depart from Narita or Haneda directly to your home country after home staying. 4. Please notify Youth Camp Committee member or host families when you get sick. We will contact with your parents immediately in case of serious illness or accident. We need your parentsʼ permission for medical treatment for you. Your parents are responsible for any incurred expenses of sickness, injuries, or loss of life. You must insure yourself for such emergency situations. Keep receipts of medical expenses to make insurance claim. 5. You are the representative of your own country and family. You should be attentive, courteous and considerate to other participants, camp leaders, and host families. Express gratitude to them!
