Portugal & Spain Adventure Itinerary Day 1 - Porto (Arrival Day) Bem vindo ao Porto, Portugal s second-largest city and the capital of world-famous port wine. It s easy to fall in love with Porto at first sight it is the perfect blend of culture and beauty. Take a wander in the UNESCO World Heritage city centre, where ancient medieval churches jostle for space among colourful period buildings and winding, cobble-stoned streets. You may arrive at any time. Take a taxi/uber/metro from the airport to Hotel Ibis Centro, situated in the World Heritage Ribeira district. Feel free to spend the day exploring: visit the impressive São Francisco church, marvel at the palatial 19th-century former stock market Palácio de Bolsa, or head to the Clerigos Tower for a panoramic view of the city. Your adventure starts tonight with a welcome WOD at our partner box, Crossfit OPO, followed by a group dinner. Get to know your fellow passengers over delicious local delicacies and vinho. Day 2 - Porto Today is a free day to explore Porto. You choose what you would like to do, and you choose when to WOD. Lose yourself in the twisting alleyways of Ribeira, cross the iconic Dom Luis I Bridge to Gaia and take in the most spectacular panoramic view of the city, visit one of the wine cellars and sample the world-famous port wine, or watch the sunset from a beach-side esplanade Porto has no shortage of things to do and places to see. If you fancy a day trip outside of Porto, consider a wine tasting tour in Douro Valley, one of the most stunning wine regions in the world. With the Douro River snaking its way through endless terraced vineyards, and whitewashed farmhouses perched high atop the undulating mountains, the stunning vistas alone are worth the trip. Day 3 - Porto to Lisbon After an invigorating morning WOD, today we will make our way to Lisbon (approximately 3-4 hours by train), the capital of Portugal. After checking in at our hotel, the rest of the day is free to experience this captivating city. Take a ride on the rattling, century-old Tram 28, search for the melancholic fado in the maze-like lanes of the Morrish Alfama quarter, join the locals for a sunset drink in Bairro Alto, behold the grandeur of Jerónimos Monastery, and sample the original natas at the famed Pastéis de Belém. If you couldn t make it to the morning WOD in Porto, feel free to train in the evening at our welcoming partner box in Lison, Trend Crossfit. Day 4 - Lisbon (optional day trip to Sintra) Today is a free day to enjoy Lisbon. You choose what you would like to do, and you choose when to WOD. For a day trip outside of Lisbon, take a 40-minute train ride to Sintra, considered by many as one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal. With rolling hills, dewy forests, and colourful, fairytale-like castles, Sintra will surely enchant you with its magical spell. Day 5 - Lisbon to Lagos Wake up to a morning WOD, and then board a train and head to stunning Algarve (approximately 4 hours). We will base ourselves in the vibrant seaside town of Lagos ( Solar de Los Hotel ). With its mesmerizing, turquoise sea flanked by golden beaches and towering cliffs, the coastline along Lagos is jaw-droppingly spectacular.
