Hilton London Canary Wharf Hotel Accessibility Pack Thank you for choosing to stay at the Hilton London Canary Wharf. We are pleased to give you some information about our hotel that you may find useful when planning your visit to our hotel. Arriving at hotel You should use the hotel s main entrance on Admirals Way. There is a step between the pavement and the street in front of the main entrance. However, but to the left of the entrance, there is a ramp to get in to the main entrance. The main entrance has a revolving door, with two side doors. The width of the revolving door is 106cm. The two side doors are 107cm wide. Please use the door on the left. On the left side there is an automatic door-release button to open the door. After 11pm, we lock the revolving door so please use the door on the left. There is a drop-off point outside the main entrance. If you are being dropped off please use the area in front of our main entrance (we will not pay any parking fines you may receive here). Or you could go to our car park (details below). There is a direct entrance to the hotel from the car park without any steps. If you need help, please contact the hotel s concierge desk on 020 3002 2323 immediately before you arrive and someone will meet you at the car park. The car park entrance is on Admirals Way. From Marsh Wall turn into Admirals Way and then right again to enter the car park. The car park has six accessibility parking spaces. Further non-disabled parking spaces are available. If you need more guidance, our team of porters and concierge are on duty 24 hours a day. The concierge desk is in the lobby to the left of the main reception desk. Welcome and reception There are no steps in the main lobby area. The front desk is in front of you as you enter the main hotel entrance. On the right of the lobby is a seating area. To find the restaurant and bar, just pass to right of the reception and you will find the Cinnamon Restaurant and Bar in front of you. The concierge desk is to the left of the reception desk. The surfaces in the lobby are tiled with a carpet and a door entrance mat. From the reception area the lifts are on the right, as you face the reception desk. Check-in is at the main reception desk, which is 98cm high. The right side of the reception desk is lower (73 cm high). However if you ask a member of staff will also be able to come to the seating areas to help you. The induction loops are at the hotel reception desk by each terminal of the reception desk. When you check in, our staff will tell you about our evacuation policy. This policy is available in Braille if you need it. If you need a large-print copy of the registration card, we can provide one. 1

In the Event of Emergencies: The Hotel operates a system of PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans). On check-in to the Hotel, you will be offered the opportunity to discuss and outline any special requirements or assistance you may need should an evacuation of the Hotel be necessary as a result of a fire or other emergency. You will be given a copy of this Emergency Evacuation Plan and we will keep a copy for our Hotel Fire Team to refer to in case of an evacuation taking place during your stay. The Plan will specify which of our Team Members will be designated to assist you, should you require this. Should you have any concerns regarding emergency evacuations, please speak to the Duty Manager. Other services If you want to order a newspaper, please contact the reception team. We will deliver your newspaper each day to your room. You can order a wake-up call through the reception team. Or you can set a wake up call in your room using either the phone system or the television. Every guest room has a guest directory that contains information about the facilities in the hotel. This is also available in large print if you need it. For extra help to use this directory, please contact a member of the reception team. Toilet facilities There are three sets of public toilets in the hotel. One set is on the lower ground level. These do not have specific accessible toilets. However, you can get to them by using the middle lift. There is another toilet in the lobby on the left-hand side of the reception desk opposite the lifts. This is an accessible toilet. On the first floor there is another set of public toilets in the conference-room corridor and an accessible toilet right in front of the lifts. The door is 93 cm wide. You can find the third set of toilets next to the executive lounge on the 14 th floor. Getting around the hotel All lifts have an announcement system to let you know what floor you are on and tactile (with markings which can be felt) buttons at the regulation height. The lift doors are 110cm wide. The lifts have mirrors on the back walls. 2

Cinnamon Restaurant & Bar To the right of the lobby is the Cinnamon Bar and Restaurant. The restaurant and bar is fully accessible. The bar and restaurant area has a porcelain tile floor. We can provide menus in Braille or in large print if you need. All restaurant staff can offer help with your menu choice if you need it. Bedrooms: The Hilton London Canary Wharf has 18 accessible rooms, two on each floor on the levels 3 to 11. We can link all accessible rooms to an extra bedroom. All accessible rooms are non-smoking. Our accessible rooms have the following facilities; Bathroom facilities Grab rails on both sides of the toilet A toilet which is 42cm high An emergency pull cord Low-mount towel storage and shelving A low-level bath tub with grab rails (height 55cm, width 60cm, depth 42cm) A low-level sink (76cm) The bathroom door is wider (81 cm). A phone next to the toilet Bedroom facilities Low-mounted hangers in the wardrobe Low mounted safety deposit box in the wardrobe Vibrating pillows (for emergency situations) if you are deaf and hard if hearing Low-level spyhole in the bedroom and bathroom door Wider doors (91cm) Low-level bed (48cm) Telephone at your bedside Bedside control panel for the room lights Large-print room service menus Panic button by the bed We can add the following equipment to any room in the hotel for you to use; A bathboard grab handle A handy bather Support rails A bath seat A step-two A raised toilet seat A furniture leg raiser A vibrating digital alarm clock A wire-less vibrating, flashing doorbell. Your room will have a chair at the desk. The accessible bedrooms are wider and very spacious with wider doors. 3

Precor by Hilton Fitness Room The hotel has a fitness room on the second floor. The entrance is to the right of the lifts opposite room 206. The door is 86cm wide. This door is heavy, so please contact a member of staff if you need help. The door into the gym is 91cm wide and has a glass panel. The fitness room does not have staff present. However there are surveillance cameras, which are monitored by reception. To get in to the fitness room use your room key. The doorway into the fitness room is solid wood. The floor in the gym is wooden. There is a changing room and shower facilities to the right as you enter the fitness room. Towels are provided in the gym. Bottled water is provided by the towels. The gym has two running machines, one cross-training machine, one cycle machine, one rowing machine, 2 lower-body-weight machines, 2 upper-body-weight machines and an exercise area with two fitness balls. There are sauna and steam rooms at the far end of the fitness room. If you want to use them, please use the phone in the main gym to call for help. There is an accessible toilet & roll in shower provided in this area. Conference facilities We have nine function rooms, one of which we can split into two smaller rooms. We can split the Quay Side Suite into Quay Side Suite 1 and Quay Side Suite 2. All our meeting rooms are on the first floor and are fully accessible. See page 6 for a description of each specific meeting room. The meeting rooms and the corridor areas are all either wood or carpeted. We fit all meeting rooms with an At your service call button if you need help. You can arrange to hire of audio-visual Equipment before your event. Please let the conference and banqueting sales person know when you make your booking. Business Centre The business centre is on the first floor. Take the lifts on the right of the reception desk to the first floor. Once out of the lifts, the business centre is opposite the lift to the right side. The business centre has someone on duty Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm. Reception will also be able to arrange for any photocopying services. The business centre has two desks with PCs. If you want to use the internet, you must buy a card reception. Please ask someone the business centre for any help. Reception will be able to help you outside business centre opening hours. 4

Quayside Suite From the lobby take the lift to the first floor. Go left and through two sets of double doors (164cm) opening both ways. The suite is on the right side. The floor here, and in the function room, is carpeted. The Quay Side Suite 1 is on the left and the double door opens outwards. The total width is 195 cm. Quay Side Suite 2 on the right has a set of double doors that open outwards too. The width is also 195 cm. You can see the measurements of the rooms and where the power points, phones and so on are on the floor plans. Executive Boardroom From the lobby use the lift to the first floor. Walk straight ahead and go through one set of double doors. The Boardroom is on the right. It has a double door opening inwards, which is 170cm wide. You can see the measurements of the rooms and where the power points, phones and so on are on the floor plans. Meeting Rooms 1 to 7 From the lobby take the lift to the first floor. Go straight ahead and through one set of double doors (168cm). You will find all meeting rooms on both sides of this corridor. All doors open inwards and are 170 cm wide.
