The Villages RV Club Minutes 2014 December 12, 2014 Interim President Mark Hulbert called the meeting to order at 10 a.m. with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. This meeting included our annual Breakfast and Mark proceeded with the announcements as members came to the table. The Minutes of the November meeting may be read on the WEB site. Mark asked for any interest in the position of WEB site manager as Don Crosby is retiring after 12 years of service to the Club. Don has built and supported the TVRVC.ORG website on his own time and expense. It has been an invaluable contribution to our Club and as Don moves forward on his retirement plan, he was wished the best. Treasurer s Report: Pat Reed gave monthly report: Opening balance: $5,097.70 Income 873.00 Expenses 3,539.76 Ending balance $2,430.94 Mark thanked Christie King and Karen Weber for their work with the annual Christmas Dinner/Dance. Mark welcomed 10 new couples a members. Sunshine Report: Jo Spinks gave the report for Maxine Bryant. Rally Coordinator Report: Iris Holzapfel introduced Wagon Masters and they gave information on their trips. This information may be found on the Web site. Mark announced the slate of officers for 2015 and asked for a vote for their approval. President: John Cormier Vice President: George Wyman Treasurer: Pat Reed Secretary: Kelly Wyman Rally Coordinator: Iris Holzapfel Membership: Christie King 50/50: Vern Hatch and Howard Ford The motion was made and accepted to approve the slate of officers. Mark passed the gavel and our RV Club sign to John Cormier. Mark thanked the officers who have served this past year: Vice President: Dennis York Secretary: Karen Weber Treasurer: Pat Reed Rally Coordinator: Iris Holzapfel Membership: Nancy Griffin The 50/50 crew who have served about 10 years: Walt McKechnie and Al Rhoton. The 50/50 drawing paid 1 @ $50, 1 @ $60, 1 @ $75 and 1 @ $100. Meeting adjourned after breakfast at 11:00 a.m. Karen Weber, Secretary November 14, 2014 Interim President Mark Hulbert called the meeting to order at 10 a.m. with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Board Members were introduced. Guests were welcomed. Secretary s Report: Karen Weber read the Minutes from the October 10th meeting. The Minutes can be read in their entirety on our Web Page. Minutes were approved as read. Treasurer s Report: Pat Reed gave monthly report. Opening Balance $4568.70 Income 529.00 Expenses 0 Ending Balance $5097.70 The ending balance represents $2315.70 belonging to the Club. $2782.00 belongs to the Christmas Dinner/Dance funds. Mark made the motion for the Club Membership Dues to be raised to $15.00 per coach for 2015. This money will provide $100 to $150 to be used for Wagon Master Rally expenses such as pizza party, wine party, or the expenses of an extra night s stay to organize a trip. The motion was approved.

Mark asked for support of the Christmas Dinner/Dance on December 5th at Lake Miona Rec Center. This is the pinnacle event of our Club with an evening of excellent food, music, dancing and socializing with fellow RVers. As of now there are 6 tickets available. A New Members Brochure is available at the entry table. Nine new member couples were welcomed into the Club. Rally Coordinator Iris Holzapfel introduced Wagon Masters. Also a Golf Rally in St. Augustine will be available if interest is shown. John Pope Lazy Days Tampa RV Show January 11-15. Will also plan a trip to Branson in May. John Cormier Clewiston/Lake Okeechobee, FL Seminole Reservation March 12-16. Joe and Karen Weber and Bob and Dot Bragg will serve as Wagon Masters. Sign up available at December meeting. Ken Hafke New England/Canada Cruise September 20-27. Omni Travel info available at sign-up table. Ron Torbic New York City Rally June 2015. Bus tours will be scheduled. Mark Hulbert Lion Country Safari, West Palm Beach area April 2015. Sign-up in January. Iris Holzapfel announced the Rally Schedule and information on how to run a rally available on our Website. Iris will have a table at each meeting with campground information, brochures, etc. from past rallies. Mark announced the slate of new Board Members for 2015: President John Cormier Vice President George Wyman Secretary open Treasurer Pat Reed Rally Coordinator Iris Holzapfel Membership/Hospitality Christy King John Cormier and George Wyman asked for support in giving the Club a new spark of excitement and volunteering as wagon masters. There will be some new changes and initiatives with a goal of a bigger and more active club. Mark discussed The Villages RV Parking Policy. We can park in our driveway or on the street for up to 72 hours for loading and unloading. Cannot extend into the street from driveway. Cannot block another driveway, fire hydrant or restrict movement of emergency vehicles. As always, use discretion. Our guest speaker is Mike Miller, Senior Sales Consultant with Lazy Days. Mike provided breakfast this morning and listed all of the benefits that Lazy Days will provide to our members. They have made new changes and renovations at the Park. They will schedule more rallies and attend our monthly meetings. They are hiring more technicians and now provide 243 service bays. On December 12th we will have our Pot Luck Breakfast meeting. Bring a dish for yourself and 6 others. The Club will provide plates, flatware, cups, juice and coffee. The Breakfast will begin at 10 a.m. Sign-up for rallies will begin at 9:30. Treasurer s report Pat Reed gave monthly report: Opening Balance $4842.70 Income 650.00 Expenses 924.00 Ending Balance $4568.70 This balance represents $2136.70 for the Club and $2432.00 for the Christmas Dinner/Dance Mark Hulbert announced that the Club dues are only $5 with the expectation of a large support for our 50/50 drawing each month. He asked members to please support this fund raising effort. He also asked for member support for the annual Christmas Dinner Dance which is the pinnacle event for the Club. Mark Hulbert welcomed 7 new member couples. Rally Coordinator Iris Holzapfel introduced wagon masters. Ron Torbic New York City Rally June 2015. Sign-up available today. A few tickets still available. Marty Dee and George Wyman offered a St. Augustine Golf Rally for 4-5 days in February or March and asked for member interest. They will offer it next month. Mark Hulbert asked for interest in a Lion Country trip in March or April. He will put it together. Our speaker was Rally Coordinator Iris Holzapfel. Her presentation was titled "Diary of a Mad Wagon Master". Iris suggestions on how to run a rally included: 1. Pick a Place & Date a. Check "How to run a Rally" on web site. b. Call campground- reserve a number of sites 2. Decide "What will we do?" a. Gather brochures b. Search for information on internet of the area including events, restaurants, golf, etc. 3. Advertise on Web Site a. Make up a promotion board and sign-up sheet for registration table 4. Prepare packets for travelers a. Provide envelope with information b. Brochures and information on the area c. List of members attending with cell phone numbers d. Tickets if purchased 5. Have Fun! a. Delegate duties to volunteer campers b. Offer pot luck dinner and happy hour gatherings Mark Hulbert announced that two of the recommendations made last month have been added to the Web Site. They include a "Dream Rally" page and list of previous rallies held as suggestions for future trips. Our Web Page coordinator Don Crosby was introduced. Alliance RV Coach provided donuts today and they had two new coaches in the parking lot to view. The 50/50 paid 3 winners 1 @ $50, 1 @ $35 and 1 @ $30. Mark announced the 5 positions open for 2015. If interested in President, Vice President, Secretary, Sunshine/Hospitality, or 50/50 raffle position please see Mark. Open discussion followed. September 12, 2014 President Bob Edwards called the meeting to order at 10 a.m. with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Board Members were introduced. Guests were welcomed. Bob announced his resignation as of today. They have sold their RV and have overseas travel plans, etc. Bob helped everyone for their help while he served as president. Past President Mark Hulbert has volunteered to preside as interim president until the end of the year. Bob asked that members interested in being on the nominating committee please meet with Mark after the meeting. We also need someone to volunteer to take over the duties of coffee chairperson. Members were asked to please see Mark if they will serve in this capacity. Secretary s Report Karen Weber - Minutes of the June13th meeting were approved as read on the Web page. Treasurer s Report Pat Reed gave monthly report. Opening balance $3648.70 Income $1194.00 Expenses $0 Ending balance $4842.70 ($2991.00 belongs to Christmas Dinner/Dance fund) Membership Report Nancy Griffin - Nine new couples joined today. Nancy announced that she will retire at the end of the year. Sunshine Report Maxine Bryant sent 3 cards over the summer to Carol McKechnie, Sandee Gill and Millie Sloan. Rally Coordinator Dick Scheffler stood in for Iris Holzapfel and introduced rally masters. George Godfrey Steinhatchee, FL October 19-23. Sign- up available today. Ginny Patterson Big Pig Jig, Georgia November 5-9. 3 sites available. $120 deposit is due today. John Pope Lazydays RV Show January 11-15, 2015 Sign- up available today. Call for reservation. Ron Torbic New York City 2nd or 3rd week of June. Proposed rally with bus to Jersey City restaurants, tours of NYC. Campground offers electricity and water hookups. Honey wagon available. He will begin sign- up next month. Christie King Christmas Dinner/Dance December 5. $35 per person. 28 tickets still available. Formal dress. Music Mixx & Red Sauce Caterers. Look for all these events on the Web page at www.tvrvc.org. Clothing Store is open for business. Our guest speaker today was a no- show. Bob had invited Jack Hanson, VP of Residential Safety Watch. Nine new members were welcomed into the Club. Discussion took place regarding the need for more rally masters to sign up. Suggestions included: *Develop a "Dream Rally" list from members and have people sign up to coordinate a destination. *We do have packets of information available from past rallies. Procedures are currently on the web site. *Iris has volunteered to present a program with details on how to run a rally at the October meeting. *Have 2 lists on the web site to include "Dream Rally" and "Past Rally" with packets available. This would provide suggestions for future wagon masters. Don Crosby will be asked to include on web page. The 50/50 drawing paid 3 at 1- $35, 1- $25, 1- $20. JUNE 13, 2014 Club member Mark Hulbert called the meeting to order at 10:00 am with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Reminded the members to read the minutes on the RV web page. TRIPS: Fred Bryant wanted to know if there was any interest in a trip to West Virgina next May. He will look into it. Ginny Patterson - Big Pig Dig in Georgia. Trip is full and they have a long wait list. Will need $120.00 per couple by the September meeting to cover some of the expenses. Make check payable to BJ Patterson. Mark reminded members there will not be a meeting in July or August. Six new members were introduced. 50/50 - three drawings for $40.00 each. Meeting adjourned at 10:10 am. Brenda Collins Co-secretary MAY 9, 2014 Vice President, Dennis York called the meeting to order at 10:00 am with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Introduced the board members. Motion to skip the reading of the meeting minutes for April. Reminded membership you can view the minutes on the web page. Treasurer s Report: Beginning balance $ 727.45 Income 916.88 Expenses 430.63 Ending Balance $1213.70 Membership: Nancy Griffin. Nothing new to report. Rally Coordinator Report: Iris Holzapfel. Will do a presentation at our September meeting on how to host a rally. Be sure you post your rally on the web page so everyone is aware of the trip. Jim Godfrey. Is planning an outing at a small campground in Steinhatchee, FL. Will do signups in September. Ken Griffin. Doing a trip to Cordele, GA. Trip is full but taking a wait list and thinks they all will be able to get a spot at the campground. Mark Hulbert. Annual golf scramble - September 5th. Cost is $25.00 per couple or 12.50 for a single. JoAnn Smith wanted to know if there was any interest in a trip to golf the Robert Trent Jones Trail. Will plan the trip for March or April. Howard Ford. Petoskey, Mi. Has packets in the back. Christie King. Christmas party. They have a total of eighteen tables and twelve are already sold.

Dennis York said we are looking for someone to chair our October breakfast meeting. One guest speaker was Danny Clark, owner of Danny s Auto Detailing and Pressure Washing. He does exterior and interior work on motor homes and automobiles. The other speaker was Dave Hayhurst, owner of American -Pro RV Service. Services automobiles for $85.00 per hour and motor homes for $95.00 per hour. New Members: Four new members were introduced. 50/50 - Had two drawings for $35.00 each. Meeting adjourned at 11:00 am Brenda Collins, Co-Secretary APRIL 11, 2014 President Bob Edwards called the meeting to order at 10 a.m. with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Board Members were introduced. Guests were welcomed. Sunshine Coordinator Maxine Bryant did not need to send any cards this month. Bob stated there will be no guest speaker today due to planned Annual Picnic after our meeting. Tables are set up at the Picnic Pavilion for food and swap/sale event. Minutes of the March 14 meeting were approved as read on the Web page. Treasurer s Report Pat Reed gave monthly report: Opening balance $424.45 Income 303.00 Expenses 0 Ending balance $727.45 Membership - Nancy Griffin announced that all members present have paid dues for 2014. Sunshine Report No cards needed to be sent this month. Rally Coordinator Report Iris Holzapfel reported that we only have 3 rallies and a golf scramble scheduled at present time. We need more people to volunteer to host a rally. In 2007 we had 17 rallies scheduled at this time of year. She announced that she will present a "How to Do a Rally" at the September Club meeting followed by a session at her house with a packet of information and discussion. Iris introduced Wagon Masters. Mark Hulbert Golf Scramble September 5. Golf will be played at Plimico and Churchill with box lunch and prizes. Howard Ford Petoskey, MI May 31-June 13. 19 coaches are registered at Heartside Grove Park. Rate of $50 per night. There is room for 2-3 more coaches. John Pope He is planning to host the Lazy Days RV Show Rally in January, 2015. Dates to follow. Christie King Dunedin May 5-8. Rally is full. Christie King and Karen Weber announced the annual Christmas Dinner/Dance called "Our Main Event" to be held at Lake Miona Recreation Center on December 5, 2014. The event will be catered by Red Sauce with music by Music Mixx (a six piece band). Formal dress. Cost is $35 per member and $40 per guest. BYOB. Tables of 8 will be sold at the May and June meetings. Members were asked to be prepared to purchase their tickets with 2-8 guests at the table. You do not have to have a full table to request seats. Tickets will be sold again in September to November. Five new members were introduced and welcomed into the Club. Our summer meeting schedule will include meetings in May and June, with no July or August dates. We will resume again on September 12TH. Bob asked members to check the Web site for Club information. The 50/50 drawing paid 2 at $40 and 1 at $35. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 a.m. to begin the Picnic festivities. Bob announced our Picnic will be held April 11th at Mulberry Rec Center immediately following our 10 a.m. meeting. The cost is $5 per couple. Tables will be provided for a swap meet. A sign-up sheet is on a table in the back. Bob introduced Club officers. Minutes of February 14 meeting were approved as read on the Web page. Treasurer s Report February 14 March 14. Audit report showed all transactions and funds were properly reported and accounted for. Opening Balance $320.45 Income 214.00 Expenses 110.00 Ending Balance $424.45 Rally Coordinator Report - Iris Holzapfel introduced Wagon Masters. Walt McKechnie Valdosta Golf Outing April 21-26. Rally will include golf, fish fry and cook-out. John Cormier Cancelled rally in May to Atlanta, GA. Deposit checks are available for pick-up today. Sun & Fun Airshow Rally in Lakeland April 3-6. Blue Angels will fly Fri, Sat, and Sun. Packets are available today. Howard Ford FMCA Rally, Perry GA. March 16-21. Will leave from I75, Exit 345 at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Sixteen coaches going. They have locations in Gainesville and Ocala with 24 hour self-service check in. A high-tech vehicle storage facility with covered and uncovered storage units. T-shirts were given to all Club members today. New Members Two couples were introduced. The 50/50 drawing paid 2 at $40 and 1 at $35. Last year the Club made $960 from this drawing. Board members were introduced. Alliance RV was thanked for the refreshments again this meeting. Bob asked for a volunteer to be coffee host for our meetings. A thank you letter from The Villages Elementary School for the $100 donation was read. Minutes of January 10, 2014 meeting were approved as read on the Web page. She introduced Dee Muench who will take over. Please take pictures while on a rally and forward to Dee for the Club Album. Bob thanked Eve for her hard work over the years. Our annual picnic will be held April 11 at the Mulberry Rec Center pavilion. We will have a short meeting and enjoy a picnic lunch. Bob suggested a swap and sale meet at the same time. Bob introduced the Guest Speaker Gil Johnson from SkyMed. They are the only air ambulance service that puts the decision in the hands of the patient as to whether they need medical air transportation to their preferred doctors rather than the local medical staff. They have an office in The Villages for pre and post operative care. Rally Coordinator Report: Iris Holzapfel introduced the wagon masters. Ken Griffin asked if there was any interest in a trip to Miami in April. Will have sign ups next month.
