President s message: Brierside chat GREETINGS CORVAIR FRIENDS H ope e ve r yone had a wonderful time at the Yankee swap and Christmas Party at the Onion Pub in Tilton, NH. It was great to see some of the Bay State folks. The food was tasty and lots of visiting was going on. The meeting was short so we could get on with the party. Everyone had a great time. There were many gifts of candy and chocolate; those were the top swaps. There was also some after swap swapping so everyone went home with great stuff. We will be meeting at different places for our winter meetings. Make sure to check the newsletter for the locations. They are all at local restaurants so we will be having lunch and then our meetings. You know we gather best over food and drink! It s been very cold and not much snow; most of the snow has been going south of us again. Our Bay State friends have been getting it all. And yes, Janis is planning her trip south for a few days in April but first off to Maine for a few days in February. I have been slowly starting back to work, with short trips first. I have fixed the heater on the trucks a couple of times and I m now working with a tire on my car that keeps going flat, so I just carry the small air tank with me. Not a problem. Cats are all just hanging around the wood stove, because it s been so cold. They get so hot you would think they would combust, but they don t. Hope that you all come to the meeting in February with some ideas for the 25 th Annual Dust Off. So hope to see you all at Kapelli s in Boscawen. Wayne Cox Co-President Secretary s Report January 12, 2014 CNHCA Meeting Minutes January 12, 2014 The January meeting of the CNHCA was held at the Onions Tavern located in the 1875 Inn in Tilton. There were 27 members and friends present including: Paul & Evelyn Ardito, Ray & Kathy Bombardier, Kim Boutsianis with Children and friend Chris, Bob & Agnes Brown, Wayne & Janis Cox, Ginny and Jon Guignard, Allan & Judy Jones, Dave & Debbie McMillan, Ray & Cecile Moore, Ed & Christine Morse, Tim Sattler and son Oliver, John & Lynda Teixeira, and Rhoda Hardy. Co President Ginny Blackmer called the meeting to order after dinner at 3:20 pm and thanked everyone for attending, including a special welcome to our members from the Bay State Club and our Newsletter Publisher Rhoda Hardy. A motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting as printed in the newsletter was made by Evelyn Ardito, seconded by Judy Jones and approved by those present. Bob Brown presented the Treasurer s Report which showed income from Dues less a memorial donation, and PO Box rental. Currently outstanding is a bill for newsletter expenses. A motion to approve the report was made by Paul Ardito, seconded by Jon Guignard and approved. Editor s Report - Jon Guignard: items for the next newsletter are needed by January 26 th. Thanks to everyone who has been sending in photos. Business: Meeting locations were discussed. The February meeting will be held on the 9 th at Kapelli s in Boscawen. Come at 1 pm for lunch, with a business meeting starting around 2 pm. Dust-Off letter sent to the Fairgrounds. No response yet, but they are meeting this week and noted that things looked good. The date is Saturday May 17 th. This will be our 25 th! We are also sending a letter to NECC for money from our participation in helping with the National Convention in 2012. New club mailing address: CNHCA, PO Box 197, Sanbornton, NH 03269. Update on Phyllis Turner: Judy Jones talked with her yesterday. She is in good spirits and has her daughters coming and going to help Jim take care of her. Update on Leslie Barnard: Rick has sold the business which allows him more time to help take care of Leslie. She is still in assisted living, coming along, but not ready for visitors. Dues are now due. Please send payment to the new club PO Box. A motion to adjourn was made at 3:40 pm by Paul Ardito, seconded by Janis Cox and approved. Respectfully submitted by Secretary Tim Sattler 2

From the Editor s cubicle I hope everyone now knows our new club postal address. PO Box 197, Sanbornton, NH 03269. This is where you send your dues, which are currently due. We are now into our third in a series of mystery members. Please participate by sending in your photos. You do not have to send in your guesses. The answers will always be printed in the next issue and you can say, I knew who it was all along!. The procedure for photos is explained beside the Mystery Member photo below. Our club holiday party/meeting was well attended. We had 6 crossover members from Bay State in attendance (CNHCA South). It was great to see them all (Ray & Kathy Bombardier, Dave & Debbie McMillan and John & Lynda Teixeira). I am pleased that our publisher Rhoda Hardy was able to attend. Attendance was almost too large for the room. I wish to thank all the individuals who brought in photographs for the Mystery Member feature, and ask the rest of you to do the same. Health-wise, not much has changed. I m continuing to gain strength and my hair is slowly returning. I saw the Oncologist in January for my first three month checkup and all is well. February Mystery Member Who am I now? Who is this month s mystery member at the left? Have fun guessing. We ll print the answer next month. To participate, scan your original photo at a minimum of 300 dots per inch and email the file to me at gnard@empire.net. If you can t scan the photo, I can. Send your photo directly to me to minimize handling. I ll scan it and get it back to you as soon and as safely as possible. If you don t wish the original photo to leave your sight, make a clean Xerox copy and get that to me. You may also get photos to me at regular scheduled club meetings. Here are the answers from our last issue. The December member is Janis Cox at age 14 and January member is Ray Moore in 1951. 3

January Party Pictured above are attendees at the club party. I apologize for the quality. Some of my shots where out of focus while others were too light or dark. It took a lot of manipulation to get them as good as this. I ve included our server Kathy. She was in a lot of photos where she was blurry due to rushing around taking care of us. I felt she deserved at least one shot that wasn t too fuzzy. editor 4
