Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry /Suspect Information 01/19/2019 12:44am 21000 Northwestern (Old Northland Center Complex) On the NW side of the building, West of the abandoned "Wholesale Liquidators" building, and near parking lots "B" and "C," wood that was boarded up over doors was broke off the doors and glass was broken out. On 01/19/2019 at approx. 12:44am Officers were dispatched to the 21000 Block of Northwestern Hwy (Old Northland Mall) for a suspicious circumstance. The maintenance man stated he saw 3- W/M s jump the fence in the "C" lot. They also advised their vehicles were parked in the Plaza Hotel parking lot. Upon arrival, Officers located 2 Ford Escapes in the Plaza Hotel parking lot (16400 J.L. Hudson Dr.). Both vehicles were unoccupied. The R/P is a city employee who was plowing snow in the area. He saw 3- W/M s, wearing all black clothing with black backpacks, exit the listed vehicles. He saw them jump the fence and disappear into the mall. Officers found forced entry into the mall and attempted to locate suspects. The suspects were not located and their vehicles were impounded. Suspect Vehicle Information: -Tan 2009 Ford Escape. -Gray 2010 Ford Escape. Officers located a phone number and called the owner of the 2009 Ford Escape. The owner of the vehicle stated that her nephew drives that vehicle. She identified her nephew and advised that he likes to take photographs of "that type of stuff." The owner of vehicle did not know who her nephew might have been with. Incident is under investigation.

Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry /Suspect Information From: 01/16/2019 7:30am To: 01/16/2019 3:30pm 21000 Evergreen Rd Window in rear laundry room was opened. Victim states sometime between 7:30am- 3:30pm someone entered residence through rear laundry room window. The home was ransacked and several items are missing. Numerous pieces of miscellaneous costume jewelry, keys for a Ford Explorer, deceased husband s wallet containing credit card information were taken. During the investigation, a Southfield Police K-9 Unit arrived in an attempt a track. The track went from the rear window of residence to a vacant lot in the 19000 Block of Melrose St. The suspect was not located. Automobile Thefts: 01/14/2019 9:27am Date/Time Address (block range) Year, Make, Model Details 23000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Collision Shop) RS Recovered Stolen Manufacturer NISSAN Model ROUGE Color SIL - Silver or Aluminum Vehicle Year 2017 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MO License Year 2019 Silver 2017 Nissan Rogue Officers were dispatched to the 23000 Block of Telegraph (Collision Shop) for a recovered stolen vehicle. Leasing Company reported a 2017 Nissan Rogue as failed to be returned and somehow the vehicle had been taken to the business. Representative from the business states on 12/08/2018, the vehicle was towed to their business. The name of the person who ordered the vehicle be towed was given to Officers. Incident is under investigation. 01/15/2019 4:13am 18000 Midway Rd. SR - Both Stolen and Recovered Manufacturer BMW Model 530 Color GRY - Gray Vehicle Year 2004 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2019 Motor Vehicle Recovered Date/Time 01/16/2019 3:33am Victim states he went outside around 4:00am with his dog. He was outside approx. 10 minutes. Victim returned a short time later to find his vehicle was taken. Victim believes that he may have dropped his keys while he was outside with his dog. DPD sent a LEIN message to our Department stating they recovered the vehicle in Detroit and the vehicle is currently being held at one of their towing facility s. The vehicle was occupied when it was recovered and the driver was arrested. Incident is under investigation.

From: 01/16/2019 7:00pm To: 01/17/2019 10:30am 28000 Monterey Dr. Manufacturer MERC BENZ Model CLA Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2014 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2019 2014 MERCEDES CLA, BLACK IN COLOR Victim states his 2014 Mercedes Benz was stolen between 7:00pm and the following morning at 10:30am. The vehicle was parked at victim s residence on Monterey. No suspect information. 01/18/2019 3:16am 26000 Evergreen Rd. (Commercial- Office Towers) Manufacturer TOYOTA Model CAMRY NEW GENERAT Color WHI - White Vehicle Year 2007 Body Style State MI 2007 Toyota Camry Victim states he parked his vehicle at Office Complex in the 26000 Block of Evergreen Rd. The vehicle was parked on the south side of the complex at 8:00pm. Victim stated that he left his keys in the vehicle and it was unlocked? At 3:00am when victim returned to his vehicle it was gone. Building Security brought up video footage of the incident. 01/17/2019 11:46pm >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (DWLS- 1 Arrest Also) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Telegraph Rd. & W Ten Mile X - Impounded Manufacturer FORD Model EC0N0LINE Color WHI - White Vehicle Year 2018 Body Style VN - Van or Panel State AZ License Year 2019 White U-Haul Ford Van On 01/17/2019, Southfield Officer was traveling north on Telegraph Rd. near W Nine Mile Rd when he observed vehicle with no rear lights activated. Officer ran the plate in LEIN which returned as a stolen vehicle out of Ann Arbor, Mi. The vehicle was confirmed stolen and was stopped at 10 Mile & Telegraph Rd. The driver of the vehicle stated that his sister rented the vehicle and he was paying her to use it. The driver wasn t aware that the vehicle was past due to the leasing company. The driver was taken into custody for DWLS and the vehicle was recovered. Ann Arbor PD was advised on recovery. The Fail to Return Rented Vehicle is still under investigation. Tips: Never leave your vehicle running unattended Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible Use commercially available security devices

Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details 01/14/2019 2:34am 21000 Van Buren St. Manufacturer Apple iphone IPHONE UNKNOWN MODEL Victim states she went to the residence on Van Buren to pick up her belongings. She had been staying at the residence. She knocked on the door and nobody answered. When she was walking back to her car the suspect came out of the residence, assaulted her and took her cell phone. Officers went to the suspects residence on Van Buren and spoke to the suspects mother. The suspects mother was uncooperative and refused to allow Officers entry into residence to check for suspect. Suspect has been identified and incident was submitted to OCPO for Complaint & Warrant by Southfield Detectives. 01/15/2019 1:50pm 20000 W Twelve Mile (Commercial- Bank) Box of Personal Checks Victim states she has a safe deposit box at her Bank in the 20000 Block of W. Twelve Mile Rd. Victim discovered her box of personal checks was missing on Tuesday January 15, 2019. Victim last visited her safe deposit box in September 2018. No suspect information.

From: 01/14/2019 10:00pm To: 01/15/2019 9:30am 15000 Providence Dr. (residential- Apartments) Stolen Catalytic Converter From 2010 Ford Escape. Victim discovered her Catalytic Converter was stolen off her 2010 Ford Escape. She last saw her vehicle intact at 10:00pm on Monday 01/14/2019. She discovered her Catalytic Converter was taken the following morning at 9:30am. From: 01/16/2019 7:45am To: 01/16/2019 7:55am 19000 Dorset St. Stolen Catalytic Converter from 2002 Ford F-250. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (Suspects were 2- B/M s in a Black Pick Up Truck) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim advises sometime between 7:45am- 7:55am his neighbor witnessed 2- B/M s under victims Ford F-250. At first, she thought they were working on the truck, but quickly realized they were not. The suspects were driving a Black Pickup Truck. From: 01/14/2019 11:00pm To: 01/15/2019 11:00am 27000 Devonshire Apple Watch Series 3- Black and Gray Victim states she allowed a friend, who is homeless to stay at her house. Sometime between 01/14/2019 11:00pm- 01/15/2019 11:00am victims watch that was in victim s bedroom was taken. Victim suspects it was the friend that took the watch. He was gone the following morning. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. 01/17/2019 12:04pm 26000 American Dr. (Hotel) 1- Ridged Pipe Threader, 2- Milwaukee Sawzall s 1- Hilti Drill Hammer. Victim states that multiple power tools were taken from his car yesterday afternoon between 11:45am and 11:55am. Victim left his car unlocked and went inside the hotel. When he came back out he discovered several of his tools had been taken from the vehicle. Surveillance Video from the hotel shows a B/M approx. 5-10 190lbs wearing a black hat, black hoodie, black gloves, blue jeans, and black shoes stepped out of his car and proceeded to open the passenger side of victim s van and grab a set of items then walk back to his car. The suspect then walked back to victim s vehicle three more times entering the rear doors and grabbing items out of the van and placing them in his own car. The suspect then drove off southbound in the parking lot before exiting the camera's vision and headed in an unknown direction.

From: 01/15/2019 5:00pm To: 01/16/2019 4:55am 17000 W Twelve Mile (Commercial- Office Complex) Catalytic Converter was taken from 2008 Ford Econoline 300 Box Truck >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (2- Suspects were possibly in a Chevy SUV) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states sometime between 5:00pm and the following morning at 4:55am someone stole the catalytic converter from victims 2008 Ford Econoline 300 Box Truck. The company has video of incident. The video showed (2- Suspects) inside what appeared to be a Chevrolet SUV. Nothing further at this time. 01/17/2019 8:00am 23000 Northwestern (Commercial- Office Complex) Manufacturer Chrysler Model Town and Country Serial No. License No. Color Radio/GPS Notes Removed from the Dash Victim states on Thursday 01/17/2019 sometime while he was at work his personal vehicle had the passenger window broken out and the In-Dash Radio/ Navigation System was taken. Victims work place was going to check their surveillance video. Nothing was available at time of reporting.

01/20/2019 4:49am 24000 Evergreen Rd. (Residential- Condo s) Prescription Glasses were taken from 2015 Audi A3. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (2- B/M Suspects were in a Dark Colored Mustang) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked On Sunday 1/20/2019, Officers were dispatched to the 24000 Block of Evergreen Rd. (Condo s) on a report of a suspicious person. R/P observed a B/M wearing a black hoodie attempting to open car doors. The suspect did make entry into a Black Audi and the passenger door was left open. R/P (witness) provided Officers access to footage from his ring door bell. On video, the suspect is a B/M wearing a black hoodie with a larger logo/ graphic on front, black pants, white shoes, approx. 5'-2"- 5'-6". The suspect was dropped off, possibly by a Dark Colored Mustang. The suspect immediately starts going car to car checking to see if any were unlocked. The suspect then checks and enters a Black Audi from the passenger side door rummaging through the vehicle. (Took a pair of prescription glasses) The suspect exits the attacked vehicle leaving the passenger door open and walks over to the vehicle that dropped him off and leaves the area. The driver of the suspect vehicle was a B/M, no further description. R/P was unable to get a license plate off the suspect vehicle.

Victim advised she works as an Escort. She utilizes an app to meet people online anonymously and arrange times and places to meet. She utilized her Google Voice Phone number to communicate with the suspect via text message. After the suspect arrived she let him into her hotel room. The suspect stated he wasn t feeling good and went into the bathroom. After exiting the bathroom, the suspect held a gun to victim s head and stated he wanted all her money. Victim got her wallet and gave suspect all the cash she had on her. The suspect told victim to go stand in the corner and not look at him, so she did just that. After suspect had the money, he went over to the bed stand nearest the door (where victims phone was plugged in), and stole her Apple iphone SE, which is Rose Gold in color. The suspect then ran out of the room. The victim started screaming and there were witnesses that saw the suspect fleeing. The suspect was not located at this time. Be on the Look Out Highlights: Larceny from Auto Suspect & Vehicle Information: On Sunday 01/20/2019 @ 4:49am Officers were dispatched to the 24000 Block of Evergreen Rd. (Condo Complex) on a report of a suspicious person. R/P observed a B/M wearing a black hoodie attempting to open car doors. The suspect did make entry into a Black Audi and the passenger door was left open. R/P (witness) provided Officers access to footage from his ring door bell. On video, the suspect is a B/M wearing a black hoodie with a larger logo/ graphic on front, black pants, white shoes, approx. 5'-2"- 5'-6". The suspect was dropped off, possibly by a Dark Colored Mustang. The suspect immediately starts going car to car checking to see if any were unlocked. The suspect then checks and enters a Black Audi from the passenger side door rummaging through the vehicle. (Took a pair of prescription glasses) The suspect exits the attacked vehicle leaving the passenger door open and walks over to the vehicle that dropped him off and leaves the area. The driver of the suspect vehicle was a B/M, no further description. R/P was unable to get a plate off the suspect vehicle. Obstruct Police/ Disorderly Conduct- 1- Arrest 01/17/2019 11:20pm 25000 Block of Telegraph Rd. (Commercial Restaurant- Pizza) On 01/17/2019 Several Officers were dispatched to the 25000 Block of Telegraph Rd (Bar/ Restaurant) regarding a fight in progress. When Officer arrived on scene, he observed two subjects walking in the parking lot. An employee from business pointed out one of the subjects as the person that was causing the disturbance inside the restaurant. When Officer advised the subjects to stop they both ignored his order and kept walking away from him. As additional Officers arrived the subjects were again advised to stop. They eventually stopped but not until Officers ordered them several times to stop. When Officers attempted to investigate incident, and talk with the subjects one of the subjects immediately became obnoxious with Officers. This subject was vulgar and began yelling while Officers attempted to speak with him. The subject yelled several negative/ degrading statements regarding Police and gestured that the Police were going to shoot him. Officers ignored subject s negative statements about the Police and continued to advise subject to lower his voice and that they only wanted to talk to him about what happened inside the restaurant. This subject ignored all instructions and continued yelling. There were several patrons walking in and out of restaurant during this time and subject was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct. The subject refused to give Officers his name and was also charged with Obstructing Police. Officers eventually got the suspects name from his girlfriend who was inside the restaurant paying the bill. Witnesses in the restaurant stated the subject s demeanor inside the

restaurant was the same as outside and that s why they called the Police. DWLS/ Warrant Arrest- 1- Arrest 01/15/2019 1:29pm Telegraph Rd. & W Ten Mile Rd. Officers stopped vehicle for traffic violation, No Visible License Plate. Officers spoke to the driver who made admissions that his driver s license was suspended and he had no registration or insurance. The driver came back in LEIN/SOS with a Suspended Driver s License and 4 prior convictions for DWLS. The passenger in right front seat was identified and came back with multiple warrants. Dispatch confirmed that jurisdiction with warrant would like our agency to hold the passenger on their warrant. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody. R&C Stolen License Plate/ Expired License- 1-Arrest 01/17/2019 6:45pm Greenfield Rd. & W Nine Mile Rd. Officers stopped vehicle for traffic violation. Investigation revealed that the driver was driving on an Expired Driver s License and had a Stolen License Plate on his vehicle. He admitted to stealing the license plate off a vehicle in Detroit. Subject was arrested for Driving with an Expired Driver s License and being in possession of a Stolen License Plate.

Larceny from Person/ A&B/ R&O 01/21/2019 11:21pm 26000 Evergreen Rd. (Bar/ Restaurant) Officers were dispatched to location on a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, Officers observed a subject trying to get into the restaurant but there were several people holding him back. Officers intervened, identified themselves and told suspect to stop. He refused their demands and kept trying to get back into the restaurant. Officers used the necessary force to take suspect to the ground and handcuff him. The manager from Fridays told Officers that this subject assaulted another subject inside the restaurant and they didn t want him back in the restaurant. The victim was located and stated the suspect asked him for some marijuana when they were in the bathroom. The victim told suspect he didn t have any. The suspect kept asking him for marijuana and then assaulted him. During the assault victims watch fell to the floor and suspect took the watch and fled the restaurant. The subject was arrested for A&B, R&O and Larceny from Person.
