Welcome to your new fares guide A feature of our new fares is that we are making things simpler and we re doing that in two ways. First, fares are now based on 4 zones: Bristol, Bath, Weston and West of England. So any tickets that were previously limited to our Bath and Bristol Outer Zone or Weston Outer Zone now cover the complete West of England area. Second, we are launching a flat fare in the Bristol zone, so instead of having to work out whether a single trip will attract the short or long trip price, it s just one price for all single journeys. This means we now have a flat fare in Bristol, Bath and Weston-super-Mare. We ve also now passed 10 million sales through our mtickets app, which is speeding up journeys and making buying tickets more convenient. Our new fares give further incentive to make the switch, with mtickets providing even better value compared to paying the driver. We also want to make sure that our less frequent travellers can use mtickets, so for the first time you ll be able to buy a single journey on the mticket app and save against paying on board. Even if you haven t switched to mtickets yet, the guide sets out all the places where you can save by buying before you board, whether that s online, at our travel shops in Bristol and Bath, at an ipoint at all metrobus stops, through the Travelwest Smartcard or at one of over 500 Payzone or PayPoint retail outlets. Wherever you choose to buy, you will always save if you buy before you board. With singles right through to year tickets, free travel for children under 5, up to 50% off for children 5 or over, up to 30% off for 16-21 year olds and students, and fantastic value from our group tickets, we have a great range of tickets to suit everyone s needs. Select......your ticket category and type and add it to your basket. 4. Sign up......for an account and pay by card, Pingit, Paypal, Apple or Google Pay. 5. Activate......your ticket JUST BEFORE you get on the bus. 6. Scan......the QR code ticket as you get on the bus. #movetomobile 5

Ticket types Single tickets A flat fare structure is in place in the Bristol, Bath and Weston-super-Mare Zones. This means that wherever you travel in that zone, the price of a single journey will be the same. In the West of England Zone the cost of your single ticket is based on the route distance you travel. Your fare is determined by how many sections of route you travel through, as defined by the chart on page 22. Day and season tickets If you're making more than one journey on a particular day, or are a regular traveller, these tickets can offer you great savings. Just decide which area you want to travel in and how long you need your ticket to last. Then once you have your ticket you can use it as much as you like in your chosen period of time, making as many journeys as you need to. Our day tickets are valid until 4.29am the following morning so are perfect for a day and night out! Group ticket With this unlimited day ticket up to five people of any age can travel together. Tickets can be bought after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. And as with all our day tickets, it is valid until 4.29am the following morning. 6

Ticket discounts Children under 5 travel free Unlimited children under five can travel for free with each fare-paying adult/student/16-21 year old or concessionary pass holder. Up to 50% discount for children aged 5-15 Children aged 5-15 can get up to 50% discount on all tickets across the West of England. We would advise all older children to get a free First Photo ID pass as proof of age. An application form can be found on page 27. Buy your child's ticket on your phone Child tickets can also now be bought on one mobile phone and transferred to another with mtickets. For example if a parent and child both have mobile phones with the mticket app on, the parent can buy a child ticket on their phone using their credit/debit card and then send it to the child's phone for them to use. Up to 30% discount for young people and students Young people (16-21) and students (of any age if in full time education) can get up to 30% discount on all tickets if they have a First Photo ID pass or their student photo ID. An application form for a free First Photo ID pass can be found on page 27. 7

How are West of England Zone single fares calculated? In the West of England Zone single fares are worked out based on the route distance you are travelling. Emersons Green, Sainsbury s Church Farm Road Bett s Green Distances are calculated using fare stage sections rather than individual bus stops, with each section being approximately one mile long*. Meadgate Blackhorse Lane Downend, The Leap Leap Bridge 1 2 If you travel in 1-3 mile long sections it ll be 2.50, 3-6 mile long sections will be 3.50 and so on. Four Acre Road Queensholm Crescent Wedgewood Road Quakers Road Bromley Heath Avenue Cleeve Hill 3 Here is an example route and some of the fares along it: Emersons Green, Sainsbury s to Long Close would be 2.50 as you are travelling in three sections (numbers 1, 2 and 3, Long Close is classed as section 3 in this example as it s where you are getting off the bus). Long Close Selbrooke Crescent Ettricke Drive Vassal Road Straits Parade New Station Road Fishponds, Channon s Hill Channons Hill Snowdon Road Blackberry Hospital Tendlewood Park Small Lane 4 5 Long Close to Narroways Road would be 3.50 as you are travelling in four sections (4, 5, 6, 7, Long Close is counted as section 4 in this example as it s your boarding point). Blackberry Hospital to Downend, The Leap would be 3.50 as you are travelling in four sections (5, 4, 3, 2). River View Brinkworthy Road The Chine Stapleton Church Glenfrome Road Stapleton Road Eastville, Eastgate Centre Eastgate Road Narroways Road Stafford Road Sevier Street Ashley Road, Brook Road Denbigh Street Brigstocke Road 6 7 8 *Sections are approximately one mile long as not all bus stops are exactly to the mile. Where a significant feature is on a route such as a row of shops we have tried to extend sections to include this within the mile section. Key 1 Stokes Croft The Haymarket Centre, Rupert Street Numbered sections Bold name stops - Section boundary stop (can be counted in either section) Non-bold names - All other bus stops 9 Please note: Example purposes only, not an actual route. 22

Flat fares in Bath, Bristol and Weston-super-Mare In the Bath, Bristol and Weston-super-Mare fare zones, there is a flat fare for all single journeys. This means any single journey which starts and ends entirely within any of these zones will be one price. For Bath Zone single fares see page 9. For Bristol Zone single fares see page 12. For Weston Zone single fares see page 15. Journeys out of a flat fare zone If a journey begins within a flat fare zone but travels beyond the border of that zone, the fare will be calculated as follows: Flat fare to the border of the zone, then rounded up to 3.50, 4.50, 5.50 or 6.50 depending on the distance travelled thereafter.
