FEBRUARY/2018 The Tennessee State Club of Winnebago International Travelers INSIDE THIS ISSUE Anniversary Celebration Since both and were planning a joint campout at Salt Lick Creek campground at Cordell Hull Lake near Carthage, TN on August 17-19, 2018, RTT and VSW decided to join them for a celebration of s 44th Anniversary as a Chapter. After discussions with the Chapters, the following preliminary information is provided. Due to limited facilities and activities in the local area it is planned to have an outing to become better acquainted with some games and oldfashioned socializing with minimal work by anyone almost a true no host outing. For those who come early, there is antique shopping, museum and possible visit to the old country store and historic aspects of Granville, some picturesque country sites are a bonus. Planned activities will somewhat depend on numbers in the outing, but some current thoughts are Saturday morning some short state and chapter meetings, followed by some competitive games, i.e., bean bag baseball, which is fun for the participants, and side liners as well. Card games, holey board, are some other possibilities. Game time would be followed by in evening setting up some grills with all bringing their own hot dogs, sausages, hamburgers or other to grill. This would be followed by a 44th Anniversary Celebration with cake and home made ice cream (think we can find enough ice cream makers?). RESERVATIONS: You can start making reservations now! The campground has 30/50 amp WE or WES sites. Go on the internet to make reservations at Reserve America.com. Try to reserve the site of your liking near the shelter. It is on the point between sites 53 and 55 on the map. Sewer sites are from 10-23, but often reserved for longer stays. The map on the internet gives details of the site for your review and selection. Fees are: $15-26/night. Evidently sites fill up early for the summer months, so you need to plan now for that campout and make your reservation. After making your reservation, please e-mail Brent Nickles at brentnickles@charter.net giving the dates you reserved and the site number. EVERY WINNEBAGO IS WELCOME AT GNR WIT is making a change this year with opening up registration to any Winnebago brand product owner whether or not they belong to WIT Club. In talking to many Winnebago owners they have found that many don t understand WIT and all the social opportunities it provides. The company believes that the WIT Club Members are the best ambassadors of the Winnebago brand and will help those non-members to see the benefits of WIT membership. Inviting all Winnebago owners, and any of the grandfathered brands already eligible for WIT Club membership, RV owners will have the opportunity to experience GNR vendor seminars, activities, and entertainment along with all of you. The best part is they also can get to know the value of being a WIT Club member. We hope your clubs and chapters will take advantage of welcoming all these prospective members to your gatherings during GNR week. As many of you who ve attended in the past know, GNR is a great opportunity to make friends from across North America. Of course, as a valued WIT Club member, you will receive a discounted GNR registration fee see witclub.com for registration details. Registration is now open and you can save money by taking advantage of our early bird rate. Note: 1. Grandfathered brands are Sunny Brook & Country Coach. Grand Design owners are not currently eligible to join WIT or attend GNR. 2. If you have the opportunity to invite someone from TN we suggest that you encourage them to sign up for the TN Row unless their unit is over 40. State Rows only accept 40 or less. 2
