WELCOME TO CAMP! We offer a wide array of summer camp options to meet every camper s needs. All of our camps are designed to make summer fun, exciting, and safe while focusing on the Y s values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. PRESCHOOL CAMP Half-Day Morning Camps for ages 3-5 Monday - Friday: 9:00 am 1:00 pm MEM: $80 PRO: $110 Little Artist Camp: Bring out the creative side in your child. Campers will participate in daily arts & crafts projects and learn about different styles of art, along with outside water play and STEAM projects once a week. Make sure to send your child in appropriate clothing. There will be an art show every Friday. Parents are encouraged to come at 12:30 pm for the show. Sessions: 2-4 Splish Splash: This camp will have 30 minutes of pike/ eel level swim lessons daily. Please send your child in their swimsuit and pack a change of clothes. Campers will have water time in the morning in our little outside pools. Arts & crafts and value time will also be a part of weekly activities. A skill sheet will go home on Fridays. Sessions: 2-9 Mini Triple Threat Gymnastics: Preschoolers will participate in a daily rotation of gymnastics, dance and cheerleading, along with outside water play and STEAM projects once a week and a parent performance on Friday at 12:30 pm in the gym. A skill sheet will go home on Fridays as well. Sessions: 2-9 Little Scientist: Campers will enjoy different hands-on science experiments each day that center around a weekly theme. Outside water play and STEAM projects happen once a week. Please send your child in appropriate clothing. Parents are encouraged to attend the science fair on Friday at 12:30 pm to see what their kids have learned. Sessions: 5-9 Little All Stars: Campers will participate in basketball, soccer t-ball & gymnastics and field day on Fridays, along with outside water play and STEAM projects once a Register week. Sessions: 2-9
TRADITIONAL CAMP Full-Day Camps for ages 5-12 Monday Friday: 9:00 am 4:00 pm Free Extended Care: 7:00-9:00 am & 4:00-6:00 pm Offered All Sessions: MEM $145 PRO $175 An adventure awaits each day. Camps will meet with their counselor each morning to discuss what they would like to do that day. Campers swim twice a week and have daily reading time. Activities include: STEAM projects, arts & crafts, outside activities, gaga ball, running program, court sports, team building activities, tennis and more! Explorers ages 5-6: Voyagers ages 7-8: Pathfinders ages 9-12: This group swims on T/TH Some will swim T/TH Others will swim on M/W This group swims on M/W ADD-ON: You can add on PIZZA DAYS when you register! SPECIALTY CAMP Full-Day Camps: Monday Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Free Extended Care: 7:00-9:00 am & 4:00-6:00 pm All Specialty Camps: MEM: $155 PRO: $185 Swim ages 5-12: This class will provide 45 min. of swim lessons + 45 min. of open swim time daily. Mondays campers will be evaluated and placed into skill groups. Skill reports will go home on Fridays. Additional classic camp fun when not swimming. Sessions: 1-9 Triple Threat Gymnastics ages 5-12: Enjoy gymnastics, dance & cheerleading daily. Campers will be split into groups based on their gymnastics skill level. On Fridays, campers will swim and there will be a parent performance at 3:15 pm in the gym. Also, skill reports will go home on Friday. Sessions: 1-9 Arts & Crafts ages 5-9: Campers will do daily arts & crafts projects and a group project. Every Friday at 3:15 pm there will be an art show for parents to attend in the Y lobby. Swimming on Friday. Please send kids in clothes that can get messy. Campers will also have an opportunity to do general camp activities. Sessions: 1-5 NEW! Outdoor Science Camp ages 7-10: This camp is held at the INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SCHOOL, not at the Decatur Y. Campers wil have daily adventures outside exploring nature and science, like using a box to bake cookies and practice using a compass. Campers will swim twice a week at the local outdoor pool. Campers will choose a post-camp club each Monday morning to participate in for the week from 4:00-5:30 pm. Sessions: 2-5 & 7-9 Register
SPORTS CAMP Full-Day Camps: Monday Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Free Extended Care: 7:00-9:00 am & 4:00-6:00 pm Wolves Soccer Camp ages 6-12: Academy coaches will coach and administer skill-building games. Fundamentals, rules, and techniques will be emphasized during the week while playing games. Soccer will take place offsite from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. After soccer, camper will participate in general camp activities back at the Decatur Y. Campers must be at drop-off site no later than 8:45 am for transportation to the soccer field. Sessions: 3, 5, 7 & 8 MEM: $155 PRO: $185 Drop-off & Pick-up: Decatur Y Basketball Camp ages 5-12: Camp staff will lead skill-building games, teach fundamentals, rules and techniques throughout the week. Campers will also participate in traditional camp games, reading time, STEAM, arts & crafts and swim twice a week. A skill achievement sheet will go home on Fridays. There will also be an onsite or offsite special event or trip each week (this fee is now included in the cost). TEEN LEADERSHIP CAMP Full-Day Camps: Monday Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Free Extended Care: 7:00-9:00 am & 4:00-6:00 pm Teen Advanced Leadership Programs (ALA): This program is designed to take teens through the different stages of leadership and preparing them to possibly be a future Y camp counselor or to work in another department in the Y. Each level helps teens develop different leadership skills: go on college tours, write to colleges of their choice, participate in volunteer projects, presentations on life skills and much more. Jr. Lifeguard & Jr. Swim Instructor Camp ages 12-13: All participants must be able to swim 25 yards (freestyle) and be able to tread water. This is NOT a lifeguard or swim instructor certification class. This program is designed to introduce teens to the necessary skills and knowledge that they will need to become lifeguards, swim instructors and community leaders. The program will focus on the following key areas: prevention of aquatic accidents, fitness and swimming skills, response in an emergency, working with kids, facilitation, leadership skills and professionalism. Held at the Decatur Family YMCA. Weeks 2-5 & 7-9 MEM: $170 PRO: $200 Navigators ages 12-14: This camp will be held onsite and off site. Teens will have the opportunity to give back to their community with weekly service projects, strengthen their leadership skills by taking weekly leadership classes and participate in fun outings. Spend one day at YMCA Camp High Harbour at Lake Allatoona. Weeks 2-5 & 7-8 MEM: $170 PRO: $200 Register
TEEN LEADERSHIP CAMP Full-Day Camps: Monday Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Free Extended Care: 7:00-9:00 am & 4:00-6:00 pm Advanced Leadership Camper (ALC) age 14: To become a part of this program, teens must apply for the program in July 2019 (1st - 31st) and come to interviews. This is a year round program and teens will meet once a month for a mandatory meetings held on Saturdays at 1:00 pm. During the summer, teens will participate in camp activities half of the time and participate in leadership competency classes during the other half of the time. This group will travel to 3 colleges and tour them during the summer. Leader In Training (LIT) age 15: To become a part of this program, teens must apply for the program in July 2019 (1st - 31st) and come to interviews. This is a year round program and teens will meet once a month for a mandatory meetings held on Saturday at 1:00 pm. This group will also have an overnight retreat where they will gain additional training for the summer. LIT's will also become CPR certified through the YMCA. During the summer teens will assist in all aspects of camp. Program goal is to prepare them to become a camp counselor when they turn 16. REGISTRATION INFO Register in person at the Decatur Family YMCA or online through our website. YMCA Membership: Camp prices are listed for YMCA Facility Members (MEM) and Program Members (PRO). Facility Members enjoy reduced rates as a benefit of membership. For those who wish to participate in Y programs without use of the facility, a YEARLY family program membership ($40) is required before registration in the program of choice. Become a facility member today and save up to $350 per child on camp for the entire summer. Learn more about the value of Y membership or stop by the branch for a tour of the facility. Facility memberships must remain current throughout the summer to qualify for MEM rates. Payment Methods: A weekly, non-refundable deposit of $25 is required for all camps. Cancellations must be made at least one week in advance of camp start date to receive a refund of the balance of payment. When registering for any of our day camp programs, you may choose to pay in full or auto charge. Select the auto charge option at time of registration if you only want to pay the minimum deposit. You can set up auto charge if the final payment is not past due. Auto charge can be set up weekly, monthly or on due date. Final payment is due two Fridays prior to each camp week. Once a camp week has started, no refunds will be given.
REGISTRATION INFO Financial Assistance: We believe every child and family should have the opportunity to participate in any Y program. Those not able to pay the full fee may be awarded partial financial assistance based of their ability to pay and the Y s ability to fund the subsidy. Since demand is great, applications are due by April 15. If you would like to donate to help send a child to camp, visit our giving page. Camper Needs: Before camp, all campers must provide the following items: 1) Medical waiver 2) Get to Know You Form 3) Copy of your child s shot records on the school health form (3231) or Immunization Exemption Form 4) Authorized Pick-Up Form: Please ensure you have listed anyone (including both parents) who are authorized to pick up your child(ren) under each child s name online. For Decatur Y camps, each camper should bring: Lunch in an insulated box & water bottle 2 snacks (due to food allergies no nuts, please) Swimsuit, water shoes and towel Spray sunscreen and bug spray Important Dates: April 27...
