Overview The Everest base camp trek has been ultimate destination and dream destinations for world's travelers especially after the successful summit made by duo Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1953. Prior to their successful trip, there were several attempts to make summit to the Everest but many were disappeared or died during the summit. Duo--New Zealand national Hillary and Nepali citizen Sherpa were lucky enough to be successful to have summit to this highest mountain and set the world record. Their successful trip to Everest got intensive coverage in the world media which helped to drag world's attention to the Everest, its base camp, and the land of Everest Nepal. Everest region is densely populated by Sherpa ethnic groups, who have earned name and fame in summiting of the highest mountains. Besides, the region is also home to majestic mountains, ancient Buddhist monasteries, amazing mountain vistas including that of the world's highest mountains, the Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and several other Himalayas above 8,000 m. to name a few are--mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m) and the region equally boasts other majestic mountains like Mt. Nuptse (7,855 m), Mt. Amadablam (6,856 m), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m), Mt. Thamserku (7,723 m), Mt. Kantega (6,685 m), Mt. Lingterin (6,679 m). Besides there are several other prominent mountains above 6,000 meters. During the Everest base camp trek, you will be overwhelmed with dazzling mountain sceneries of these aforementioned Himalayas from the lap of the world's highest peaks, and therefore, why the Everest base camp trek has been one of the most demanded and wonderful trekking destinations in Nepal. If you are adventure lover and wish to have real adventure trek, you can have one day drive from Kathmandu to Jiri-Bhandar, the gate way to Everest and continue trekking. But, these days the trekking to Everest base camp is usually starts with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and then continues trek to Phakding, Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorekshep and finally reach at Everest base camp and after exploring all around, you retrace back to Kala Pathar, continue trekking to Pangboche, Namche Bazar and finally get back to Lukla, subsequently return back to Kathmandu. Outfitter Nepal has several Trekking programs in Everest Region including Everest Base Camp Trek and basically we offer 16 Days Everest base camp trek for those have enough days for the trek and for those have even longer days we offer Everest Base Camp and Cho la pass Trek or Everest High Passes Trek and after organizing trek in Everest Region for many years, we realized that not all the people can have or afford 16 Days and we found that some of them have limited days and still want to reach the Everest Base Camp Trek and we have now, started to offer the 14 Days Everest Base Camp Trek and this includes your arrival and departure days to and from Nepal and 12 Days of Trek in the Himalaya.
