The Portuguese Discovery Day 1 Lisbon After your arrival, you will be pick up by Osiris representative and transferred to the Hotel in Lisbon. Accommodation and dinner at the Hotel. Day 2 Lisbon/Óbidos/Alcobaça/Nazaré/Batalha/Fátima After Breakfast departure to Fátima. We will stop at Óbidos. This medieval town has been declared a national monument, one of Europe's most romantic medieval villages are its incredibly picturesque cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses-- all encircled by the walls of a 12th century castle. We will have a Typical Licor Ginginha tasting at Óbidos. After we will continue to Alcobaça, for a brief visit at the Church of the 12 th Century Monastery that holds the tombs of Dom Pedro and Dona Inês de Castro ( The dead queen ) UNESCO Heritage Monument. Departure to Nazaré the most typical and colorful fishing village in Portugal, known for its tasty gastronomy with special reference to the fish menus. After, we will departure on our way to visit Batalha, where we will find the UNESCO Monument of Santa Maria da Vitoria. Day 3 Fátima/Tomar/Coimbra/Guimarães After breakfast, we will departure on our way to Tomar to visit the Convent of Christ with its famous window designed by architect Diogo de Almeida, carved between the years 1510 and 1513 and considered to be the most amazing artistic achievement of the Manueline period in Portugal and also an UNESCO world heritage. Then we will departure to Coimbra, the city of Students where we can find the most famous Portuguese University. We will do a panoramic tour, with a short stop, before we continue in direction to Guimarães for accommodation and dinner at the Hotel. Day 4 Guimarães/Porto/Braga/Guimarães After breakfast, we will departure for a of visit of PORTO, the second largest city of Portugal, visit the old quarters on the riverside, the cathedral, the old train station of S. Bento and its typical tiles. Stop at downtown Porto, to enjoy the most typical part of the city, UNESCO World Heritage Center. We will enjoy a short boat trip on the Douro River with a different view over the city and a visit and tasting in a famous cellar of Porto Wine. We will continue to Braga, the oldest archdiocese and one of the major cities of the country. The tour heads to GUIMARÃES the cradle of Portugal. The historical city that had an important role in the formation of Portugal and it settled in the 9th century. Guimarães is one of the country's most important historical cities. Its historical center is a UNESCO world heritage site. The city often referred to as the "birthplace of the Portuguese nationality". We will return to our hotel, for accommodation and dinner. Day 5 Guimarães/Aveiro/Sintra/Cascais/Estoril/Lisbon Breakfast. Departure from our Hotel. The tour heads towards Aveiro, with its canals that meander through the village and the moliceiros reminding us of the Venetian gondolas. After we will departure to SINTRA region. This medieval village and UNESCO heritage site and Unesco Cultural Landscape is distinguished by its Villa Palace. (Entrance not included). After we will continue along the colorful bay of Cascais, with it s small palaces and ESTORIL were we can find the biggest casino in Europe, that inspired the famous 007 Casino Royal. Accommodation and dinner at the Hotel in Lisbon. Day 6 Lisbon After Breakfast, we will start the visit to Lisbon. The Old quarters of Alfama Moorish quarter, Downtown, commerce square, Belem quarter with its monuments, Jeronimos Monastery (Visit of the Church), the Discoveries Monument (Glimpse) and the Belem Tower (Glimpse). After we will head to Freeport outlead, one of the biggest outlet s in Portugal. Free time for some shopping. At a scheduled time, we will return to Lisbon. Accommodation and dinner at the Hotel. 4/5
Day 7 Lisbon/Évora/Lisbon After Breakfast, we will departure to Évora. This museum town, with it s UNESCO World Heritage city center, is known by its famous Roman Temple of Diana and the Loios Convent. You will have some free time for shopping and we recommend buying some cork souvenirs, wine and olive oil, the most typical Portuguese products. We will return to Lisbon, and on our way we will stop at Azeitão, for a visit and wine tasting at José Maria da Fonseca Wine Cellar. Accommodation and dinner at the Hotel. Day 8 Lisbon After breakfast, according to you flight time, transfer to the Airport. 5/5
