Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 11/19/2015 10:28am 16000 J L Hudson Dr. (Vacant Building) Door west of the main entry door was forced open. On 11/16/2015, victim went to the property and found an open northeast door where suspects gained entry into the building. Victim observed missing copper piping. While taking the piping, suspects caused damage to the drop ceiling of the first floor. Victim contracted workers to clean up the mess that was caused. The cleanup crew left breathing masks and work clothes in the hotel overnight and secured the building. On 11/19/2015, victim entered the hotel and found the workers breathing masks and work clothes missing. An entry point was not located. Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 11/16/2015 4:44pm 11/16/2015 8:22pm 20000 Indian St. Rear door was pried. 22000 Riverdale Dr. Rear door was pried. Unknown suspect(s) appear to have pried open the rear door. The house is being prepared for sale and has next to nothing inside of it. Nothing within the house appears to have been disturbed. Victim reports that he left the house this morning at approximately 6:45am, and returned at approximately 8:20pm. At the time of reporting it appears that the suspect(s) pried the rear door without success, broke out a side light window gaining access to the lock, entered the residence, and left through the front door. The only thing disturbed within the residence was the television in the master bedroom.

From: 11/18/2015 3:50am To: 11/18/2015 9:00pm 19000 Raleigh Cir N. (Condo s) Rear door wall glass was broken out. Incident occurred sometime between 3:50am- 9:00pm. When victim returned home she discovered rear door wall glass was completely broken out and numerous personal items were stolen including a handgun. A TV, watch, glasses, shoes & clothing are also missing from the residence. From: 11/20/2015 12:15pm To: 11/20/2015 12:20 26000 Berg Rd (Apartments) No signs of forced entry. Possibly a key was used. Victim states she went to the store at 12:00pm. When she returned at 12:15pm she noticed her purse and money were gone. There were no signs of forced entry. Victim believes key was used, and management has Key s to the unit. Victim states she had an undisclosed amount of money in her purse.

From: 11/19/2015 4:00pm To: 11/20/2015 8:30am 11/20/2015 8:33pm 21000 Stahelin Rd. Rear door was damaged. Attempt only. 21000 Midway Ave. Window screen on front bedroom window was pulled halfway off the window. Attempt Only. Tips: Let trusted neighbors know if you are not going to be at home Be cautious about who you let in your home for service and repairs Contact the Southfield Police Crime Prevention Bureau for a free home security inspection (248) 796-5409 Victim advises no one was at the residence between 4:00pm and the following morning at 8:30am. After returning home victim discovered that someone had attempted entry into residence at the rear door. The residence is alarmed, no activations, no entry was gained. Victim states sometime between 6:00pm- 8:00pm someone attempted to break into the residence by removing a screen from the front bedroom window. Entry wasn t gained.

It is unknown how entry was gained. No suspect information. From: 11/19/2015 12:32am To: 11/19/2015 7:00am 26000 W Twelve Mile Rd. (Condo s) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model CRUZE Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2012 Body Style State MI License Year 2016 Description 2012 Black Chevrolet Cruze Victim states she picked up a friend and brought him back to her residence. The friend spent the night at her house. When victim woke up the following morning her friend and her car were gone. The suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. Tips: Never leave your vehicle running unattended Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible Use commercially available security devices

(Commercial Car Dealership) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from two vehicles: -2016 Dodge Journey. -2013 Chrysler Town & Country. Victim stated she parked her 2014 Chevy Cruze in the parking lot at her Apartments at 10:00pm. Victim returned to her vehicle the following morning at 7:00am and discovered her passenger compartment had been ransacked. Missing is a work backpack. The backpack contained misc. items. Victim states his backpack was stolen out of his vehicle. Incident occurred between Wednesday November 18, 2015@11:30pm & Thursday November 19, 2015@ 7:15am. Entry was gained through an unlocked door. No suspect information. Representative from dealership stated the vehicles were locked and secured the early evening of 11/18/2015 at 8:00pm when the dealership closed. On 11/19/2015 at 9:00am a 2016 Dodge Journey and 2013 Chrysler Town & Country vehicles had their Wheels & Tires taken. Both vehicles were lease turn-in vehicles.

From: 11/19/2015 6:00pm To: 11/20/2015 12:00am 26000 Berg Rd. (Apartments) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2015 GMC Terrain. Victim advises that she parked & locked her vehicle inside her carport at the front of the Apartment Complex at 6:00pm. Victim was notified at 12:00am by a neighbor that her wheels & tires were taken. No suspect info. 11/20/2015 3:53am Civic Center Dr. (Apartments) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from Ford Edge. Southfield Officer observed suspect vehicle, Black Chrysler 300, occupied by 2- B/M s driving in and out of several apartment complexes on Civic Center Drive. (Area of recent LFA s) The suspect vehicle pulled into one of the apartment complexes and was in this apartment complex for approx. 15 minutes. When the suspect vehicle exited the complex Officers attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and fled from Officers into Detroit. The pursuit was terminated and the vehicle wasn t located. It was later discovered that a 2010 Ford Edge had All Four Wheels & Tires taken at the last apartment complex that the suspect vehicle left. One of the suspects has been identified and incident is under investigation.

From: 11/20/2015 11:30am To: 11/20/2015 12:24pm 22000 W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial- Grocery Wholesale) Both drivers side Wheels & Tires were taken from 2016 Ford Explorer. Victim parked his vehicle at business in the S/E section of the parking lot at approx. 11:45am. Upon returning to his vehicle at approx. 12:20pm he observed both driver side wheels & tires missing and vehicle sitting on bricks. 11/20/2015 6:46am 27000 Northwestern (Hotel) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2016 Ford Explorer. Victim states that he parked vehicle (backed in) in front of the building (Hotel) @ approximately 8:30pm. The following morning @ 6:45am victim discovered that all four wheels and tires were missing from his 2016 Ford Explorer.

From: 11/22/2015 2:30am To: 11/22/2015 10:00am 26000 Berg Rd. (Apartments) Front Bumper was taken from victims Honda Civic. Victim stated the front bumper was removed and taken from his vehicle on Sunday November 22, 2015 sometime between 2:30am & 10:30am. From: 11/22/2015 11:30pm To: 11/23/2015 4:30am Inc.# 15/47390 21000 Indian St. Handgun, misc. CD s and some misc. change were taken. Sometime between 11:30pm- 4:30pm someone gained entry into victim s vehicle and took the following items. Handgun, Misc. CD's, and Miscellaneous Change. No signs of forced entry. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

Citizens should meet with buyer or seller in a safe zone like a Police Department. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim stated her vehicle was listed for sale. (Craig s List) The suspect came to her home on Tuesday November 17, 2015@2:30pm to inquire about the vehicle. Victim went to her bedroom to retrieve the keys. When she came back out the suspect was pointing a gun at her. He told her to give him the keys and to go back into her bedroom. Victim complied and then looked out her window to see the suspect driving away in her vehicle followed by a B/F in suspect s vehicle. Victim knows the suspect from prior work he performed at her home. A Southfield Detective conducted follow up Investigation and identified a possible suspect. The suspect has since been positively identified by the victim. Incident is under investigation.

11/18/2015 4:51am Inc.# 15/46652 (Car Jacking!) 22000 W 8 Mile Rd. (Commercial Gas Station) Status R Recovered Stolen Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model MALIBU Color TAN - Tan Vehicle Year 2011 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2016 Recovered Date/Time 11/18/2015 9:00am Location Detroit, MI. Victim stated that she stopped at the Gas Station on her way to work. When she exited the Gas Station, walking back to her car, the two suspects came from the west side of the gas station. One of the suspects walked toward her with a shotgun pointed at her. The suspect with the shotgun told her to bring her purse and car keys to him. She gave the suspects her purse and car keys. The suspect then told her to run away. Victim advises her Cell Phone is under the front seat. Surveillance Video at Gas Station confirmed victims accounting of the incident. Video also showed the same suspects going through a vehicle just prior to this incident while the driver was inside the B/P Gas Station. Victims vehicle and cell phone were recovered in Detroit. No arrests, vehicle was unoccupied at the time of recovery. Suspect Descriptions: #1, B/M 20's, 6'-0 thin to medium weight with a tan jacket/hoodie scrunched around his face. #2, B/M 20's, 5'6" to 5'8" thin build with unknown dark clothing.

Unarmed Robbery: 11/18/2015 12:24am 16000 W Nine Mile Rd. (Bus stop in front of Hospital) Metro HTC Cell Phone in a pink case was taken. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never pull their cell phones out when in an area or with subjects that are unknown to them. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim stated she was sitting at the bus stop on Nine Mile Rd. in front of Hospital when an unknown black male approached her and asked her for a cigarette. She told him she did not have any and nothing else was said between them. Victim then received an audible text message notification from her cell phone. When she pulled out her cell phone the suspect grabbed the phone out of her hand and ran west on Nine Mile Rd. Victim last saw the suspect running north on Providence Drive. SUSPECT INFORMATION: Light skinned black male, short curly black hair, goatee and mustache, 6 feet tall, 120 pounds, early twenties, wearing a blue Adidas jacket (white stripes on the sleeve), blue jeans, and white Nike shoes. Tips: Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police

Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: Unarmed Robbery Location: Bus Stop in Front of Providence Hospital 11/18/2015 12:24pm Victim was at the Bus Stop on Nine Mile Rd in front of hospital when suspect snatched her cell phone and was last seen running north on Providence Drive. SUSPECT INFORMATION: Light skinned black male, short curly black hair, goatee and mustache, 6 feet tall, 120 pounds, early twenties, wearing a blue Adidas jacket (white stripes on the sleeve), blue jeans, and white Nike shoes. Arrests by SPD Officers: Warrant (Southfield) & Obstruct Police- 1- Arrest 11/22/2015 3:43am 20000 Block of Southfield Rd. (Gas Station) Officers were dispatched to investigate subject refusing to leave the Gas Station. Officers arrived, located subject, he was intoxicated refusing to leave the Gas Station. Officers attempted to identify subject at which time he gave a false name. Officer s located identification on subject and ran a status check on him. The subject came back with a Southfield Warrant for Shop Lifting. The subject was arrested for Southfield Warrant and also charged with Obstruct Police. Special Attention: Larceny of Copper Piping and Electrical Wiring. (Vacant Building) 16000 Block of JL Hudson Dr. Numerous Break-ins have occurred since the Hotel closed and was boarded up. Most recently entry was made into the building on 11/16/2015. Copper Piping was taken. Entry was gained through a door west of the main entrance.

Special Attention: Larceny of Wheels & Tires this past week. 1-28000 Block of Telegraph Rd. (Car Dealership) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from two vehicles: -2016 Dodge Journey. -2013 Chrysler Town & Country. 2-26000 Block of Berg Rd. (Apartments) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2015 GMC Terrain. 3-21000 Block of Civic Center Dr. (Apartments) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from Ford Edge. 4-22000 Block of W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial- Wholesale) Both drivers side Wheels & Tires were taken from 2016 Ford Explorer. (Occurred between 11:30am- 12:30pm 5-27000 Block of Northwestern (Hotel) All Four Wheels & Tires were taken from 2016 Ford Explorer. Open Intox. in Motor Vehicle/ Obstruct Police- 1- Arrest 11/21/2015 12:31am 22000 Block of Telegraph Rd. (Fast Food Restaurant) Officer was dispatched to business after employee s received a threat from someone. The employees were requesting an escort out to their vehicles upon closing. Officer arrived on scene and there was a vehicle parked at the drive thru window. (Restaurant is closed now.) Officer asked the lone male driver what he was doing. The driver said "why what's it to you, I'm trying to order food". The drive thru attendant told the subject that they were closed. The driver then started making verbal threats towards the employees inside the restaurant. Officer advised the subject to calm down and asked the driver for his driver s license. The driver stated I'm not giving you my license and sped off out of the parking lot S/B on Telegraph. Officer pursued and then stopped the vehicle S/B on Telegraph Rd. Additional Officers arrived on scene to assist. Officers could smell an odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle and there were open intoxicants in plain view to Officers. When Officers asked the driver to exit the vehicle he refused. Officers advised driver he was under arrest and when Officers attempted to take driver into custody he resisted arrest. The driver was eventually taken into custody for Open Intox. & Obstruct Police.

Possession of Marijuana- 1- Ordinance Violation Issued. 11/17/2015 8:32pm 20000 Independence Dr. Officer observed suspicious occupied vehicle to the rear of Leonard Elementary School. The vehicle was occupied by four subjects and upon observing Officer the vehicle attempted to leave the school. Officer stopped the vehicle to investigate. After approaching vehicle Officer immediately could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle originally told Officer there was no marijuana in the vehicle. A K-9 Unit responded but prior to arrival, driver gave Officer a quantity of suspected marijuana. K-9 sweep of vehicle did not locate any further marijuana. A Southfield Evidence Technician Field Tested the suspected Marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana.
