Prior to joining the school in 2018, he earned his Ph.D. degree and served as an instructor at the University of South Carolina in the USA. He also worked for the South Carolina SmartState Center of Economic Excellence in Tourism and Economic Development and Hilton Columbia Center. His research focuses on IT-enabled business strategies, economic analytics in tourism and hospitality, consumer decision making, and big data analytics. As the leading author, Neil s research has been published in top-tier hospitality journals including International Journal of Hospitality Management and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. Furthermore, his research has been published in highly-ranked tourism journals, such as Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, and Tourism Management.
