Husky Families, We are excited about going through refurbishment this summer. That means the building will be redone with new flooring, cabinets, furniture, bathroom facilities and more. The building will look almost new. There will be a school board meeting in early February to approve the budget for our updates. At the present time, we are hoping to start the fifth grade area refurbishment early, February 22. Once the fifth grade area is done, fourth graders will move into the fifth grade pod, so the construction can begin on fourth. Spring break they plan to begin working on our kitchen area. Lunch will be brought in and the serving line will move into the cafeteria. Some grade levels will begin eating in the classrooms due to a lack of space in the cafeteria. From spring break to the end of the year, we will ask parents and guest to ONLY come for lunch for birthdays, as we will be very crowded until the end of the year for lunchtime. Teachers have begun the process of cleaning and some have started packing (so you may see some boxes in the hallways). We just met with the architect and building committee last week, and I will keep you all informed as things progress. We couldn t be more excited about having a new building. Have a wonderful evening, Jayne Smith
