2015 VEGAS VAIRS - CORSA CHAPTER #891 MEETING OF FEBRUARY 11, 2015 At 7:01 p.m. President Paul Green called the meeting to order. Those in attendance were: Guest Bonnie Hillmer, Members were: Vic and Ingrid Howard, Arlon and Suzan Sibert, William Lager, Stephen Hendricks, Paul Green, Chuck Hanson, Howard Stoner, Bill Peterson, Steve and Sallie Wentworth, Harry Ransom, Paul and Vicki Bernardo, Bob Helt, Mel Jackson, Marty Katz, John Charaska, Jerry Chocek and Jack O Shea. Minutes of the meeting FEBRUARY 14, Old Business: Election of 2015 officers was conducted and Paul Green as President, Chuck Hanson, Vice President, Ingrid Howard, Secretary/Treasurer and Bob Helt, Director were voted and approved. Activities: Harry Ransom discussed upcoming Car Show MEETING and activities going on in the Greater Las Vegas area. Chuck Hanson said he attended the Mesquite Car Show where 4 Corvairs, including his, were in attendance and all 4 did well with prizes. Steve and Sallie commented on the good turnout at their home of the memorial for John D Angerio. Guest, Bonnie Hellmer of High Desert Embroidery made a presentation and showed offers of a logo on shirts, hats and patches that she would produce for club members. She had examples of different materials and a price sheet was presented. Each member could contact her directly to purchase any of the items offered. Jack O Shea made a presentation and passed around a tool used to prepare cylinder head gasket surface areas (see pictures on next page). Prez Green asked Vic to put information about the Make A Wish, Coast to Coast drive that Jeff Barnett in Fairview, North Carolina will be doing and asking if our club would make a donation to that worthy cause. It was decided that $100 of the monies received for the sale of the 1965 Corvair that Paul s nephew gave to the club would be donated to this event. Bill Lager went to Kingman, Arizona and picked up the donated car and brought it to Las Vegas. Since he had no place to store it, Paul Bernardo took it to his property since there were some parts that he wanted off the car. Bill asked that anything remaining on the car, including the body itself, is for sale. Both Paul Bernardo and Chuck Hanson indicated they will be interested in some of the parts. President Paul Green outlined his plan to present monthly activities, other then the regular meeting, for this year. Door prizes were drawn and the 50/50 raffle was won by Harry Ransom Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. Submitted by: Ingrid Howard, Secretary/Treasurer 4

FROM THE EDITOR As President Paul mentioned in his comments, we have committed $100 to the Make A Wish Foundation fund raising event that Jeff Barrett is making. Jeff is planning a coast to coast drive in his 1965 Corsa. He hs numerous media sources that will be with him along the way and some National automotive magazines are planning to present his story. He will also be part of the Route 66 Fun Run where some 800 cars participate in a 140 mile drive of the old Route 66. He plans to leave his home on April 23 rd in North Carolina and arrive in Bogada Bay, California on May 9 th. Not only will this effort benefit the Make A Wish Foundation with his hope to raise $100,000 from donations from car clubs and individuals along the way, it will provide great exposure to the Corvair. He is absorbing all his expenses for this trip as his donation to this worthy cause. Anyone wishing to make a personal donation in addition to what our club is committing to, contact either Paul G. or Ingrid H. for information on how to do this. Harry Ransom spent time and effort to arrange the presentation that Bonnie Hillmer or High Desert Embroidery made where we could each proudly display our membership in Vegas Vairs by purchasing shirts, hats jackets and even club patches to put on our favorite clothing articles. The patches are available for a limited time of just $5.00. Prices for the other articles were handed out at the meeting. Below is information to contact Bonnie : 8
