Band Chatter Page 2 MINUTES OF THE February 2017 MEETING March 2017 By Secretary Joyce Shierlow. At 7pm on February 21, 2017 the regular monthly meeting of the Cen-Tex Tin Lizzies was called to order by President Robert Norberg. There were 21 members and one guest present. Robert welcomed the guest and asked him his name and if he owns a Model T. His name is Craig Warthen and he owns a 1919 Model T Woody Pickup. Robert asked the membership if they had read the minutes of the last meeting and whether there were any additions or corrections; there were none so Bob Ross made a motion to accept the minutes as written in the Band Chatter and George Brunner seconded the motion. Motion carried. Jan Donnell gave the treasurer's report that there are ample funds in the bank account for the club's needs at this time. George Brunner made a motion to accept the report as given and Gary Baker seconded the motion. Motion carried. Wellness Report: Karen Ross's left shoulder is healing and she is attending outpatient therapy for the shoulder. She again made a plea that if anyone knows of an ill member to please call her that she can send a card or flowers to that person from the club. Web Master Randy Brown said that the club has received an invitation to the Cajun Food Fest in Lago Vista on April 1 st. Calendar: Feb. 24 & 25 is the Decatur Swap Meet. Band Chatter Page 3 March 2017 Hello Tin Lizzies, We have our first outing of the year on Sat. 3-25-2017. We will meet at the Brunner Ranch at 9am, and at 10am we will ramble over to the crawfish boil in Dripping Springs. It has been a couple of years since I have been able to attend the Pre-War Swap Meet in Chickasha Oklahoma. I finally made it back this year and had a great time. I also purchased a lot of items for my inventory, but only a few things for me. I have heard a lot about this swap meet fading in the last few years however I did not find that to be the case. The number of vendors appeared to be about the same as the last 4-5 years, attendance was good and a lot of items seem to be trading hands. Ford T & A parts were plentiful and most of the vehicles for sale were Fords. I noticed many venders with various Maxwell parts which I found strange but you see a little of everything for early cars. I will admit that it is not the Chickasha of 15 years ago but times change and life moves forward and this meet is still here and moving along. This has basically been a one day meet for some time now, although it is advertised as a 2 day event. This year it was moved back a day and vendors were allowed in on Thursday afternoon at 4 to set up. Friday morning is the best time to be there now for shopping. I arrived at 8 AM and by 3 PM I had seen it all and was ready to leave but so were some of the vendors. I saw a number of dealers starting to pack up so I guess it is still a 1 day meet. Hope to see everyone one the 25 th Till next month, Rob Norberg
