Explore the enchanting Greek Isles as our privately chartered vessel slips into small harbors and shallow bays to visit Mycenae, Epidaurus, and other sites rich with mythological and historical resonances. From Piraeus, cross the Aegean to call at Delos, mythical birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. Roam its extensive ruins, then refresh with an espresso or apéritif on nearby Mykonos. Step ashore on Naxos for a tour of its excellent antiquities museum, where we will see the Cycladic marble figures that had such a significant influence on Picasso and other modern artists. On the lesser-visited peninsula of Peloponnese, stroll the narrow streets of Monemvasia, Greece s Gibraltar. In Mycenae, legendary city of Agamemnon, view treasures unearthed by Heinrich Schliemann, brilliant pioneer in the field of archaeology. By special invitation, we are invited to view a private art collection on Hydra, a haven for artists and writers, before returning to the mainland. With her billowing sails, rich mahogany, and gleaming brass, the classic barque Sea Cloud has been setting the standard for luxury sailing since 1931. Her elegant appointments, fine dining, impeccable service, and intimate size make her the ideal ship for this splendid itinerary. Weather permitting, there may be an opportunity to swim in the azure waters of the Aegean. Don t miss the chance to experience the thrill of traveling to legendary islands aboard this remarkable ship, in the congenial company of members of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Association of Yale Alumni. Sincerely, Pierre Terjanian Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Curator in Charge, Department of Arms and Armor BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB Traveling with you Pierre Terjanian Pierre Terjanian is the Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Curator in Charge of The Metropolitan Museum of Art s Department of Arms and Armor.
