GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC) Minutes January 17, 2019 President Freddie Haugh called the meeting to order. Thirty members were in attendance. GUESTS: There were no guests at this evenings meeting. ANNOUNCEMENTS: None. VICE PRESIDENT: Freddie called for the following committee reports in Bob s absence: SECRETARY S REPORT: Larry Kopa motioned dispensing with reading of the December minutes. Carl Durbin seconded. TREASURER S REPORT: Herbie Smith: Provided the report. Received a thank you from Terry Buchanan, our web master, for the donation made to Hospice in his wife s name. Herbie reminded everyone of the organizations the Club made a charitable donation. He has received thank you notes from Alzheimer s Association, Hope for the Warriors, and Dayton Veteran s Association (VA) Volunteer Services, and Volunteers of America at the VA. Organizations receiving a charitable donation were: Alzheimer s Association American Cancer Society Dayton Veteran s Volunteer Services Hope for the Warriors Kentucky Trooper Island National Corvette Museum St. Vincent DePaul Society St. Jude Research Hospital USO Volunteers of America at the Dayton VA SOCIAL: Freddie recapped the following events in Donna Tucker s absence:: January 23: Dinner out, Wheat Penny (6:00 p.m.) hosted by Peg and Rob DeLorenzo. Rob said no reservations are required. February 22: Dinner out, Chappy s Tap House, Centerville OH, hosted by Bob and Freddie Haugh. More information to follow.

May 11: Bud s Corvette Gathering, St. Mary s OH. May 11: Dinner at Fiesta Veracruz and Elvis Tribute starring Mike Albert and The Big E Band at the Murphy Theatre, Wilmington OH. Anyone who would still like to go to the Elvis Tribute must contact the Murphy Theatre and pay the regular price. May 17-19: Train ride and dinner at the Gandy Dance Theatre in Elkins WVA. June 1: Dayton Dragon s game with Corvette show. See Old Business for more information. June 1: Brookville Open Car Show, Brookville OH. June 23: GDCC Corvette only car show. MEMBERSHIP: Carol Tavener: Reported that we currently have 117 members. Fifteen members have indicated that they are not renewing and she will contact the remaining 11 who have not paid. Sent a get well card to Larry Kopa. PUBLIC RELATIONS: Bob Sledge said everything is fine. EDITOR/ WEBMASTER: Mike Jones said all is fine. NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM (NCM) AMBASSADOR: No report as Tom Brooks was not in attendance. PRESIDENT: Old Business: Freddie said that the GDCC Corvette display and Dayton Dragon s game is on June 1. Anyone wanting to show their car needs to be at the Field between 5:00 5:30 p.m. to park the Vettes. The game is at 7:00 p.m. with the South Bend Cubs. Grant from the Dayton Dragons is holding 50 tickets for the Club. Tickets are $12.00 each. If you would like a ticket for the game, send a check to Herbie and in the memo section write Dayton Dragons. We can only send one check to cover the game and they must be purchased 60 days prior to the game. In December the Club voted to give 10 elderly people a Kroger gift card in the amount of $100.00 each. Freddie said she mailed five cards to the people from Fairhaven Church and received five additional names from Miamisburg Manor which she hand delivered to them. The people were so grateful and humble for the gift cards. Some weren t sure where their next meal was coming from. The people said they would pray for our Club for being so

generous. She has received thank you cards and has them available if anyone wants to read. New Business: Freddie Provided a number of dates and events to be posted on our website, newsletter and Facebook for this year so members can be kept current for any they might want to attend. More dates and events will be added as she receives them. Received an e-mail asking if our Club was participating in the NCM 25 th Anniversary Caravan in August. She has put off responding until Donna returns to see what she might be planning if anything. Received an e-mail from Gerry Pancott, Toronto, Ontario, Canada requesting names of repair shops and tire shops in our area. His club will be passing through on their way to Bowling Green for NCM s 25 th Anniversary. If you know of reliable places north and south of Dayton let Freddie know. Gerry is doing a dry run to Bowling Green at the end of March and she would like to have repair and tire shops available to him. His caravan will also be making a stop at the Air Force Museum late morning on August 26. Freddie would like to be there to meet and greet their club. Asked George Frymyer to conduct the 50/50 drawing which was won by Terri Kopa. Terri won $44.00. George Frymyer motioned the meeting to adjourn; seconded by Carl Durbin.
