DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY Day 1: Departure from USA Today we depart on transcontinental flight to Austria. Meals served on board of the plane. Arrival is on the next morning. Day 2: Arrive Vienna Arrive to Vienna airport and meet your tour escort Board the coach and enjoy a panoramic overview tour en route to your hotel (time permitting). Check into the hotel Dinner at the hotel Overnight in Vienna (D) Attention: Schedule on this day is subject to change depending on flight details. Day 3: Vienna Dresden Prague Breakfast at the hotel Start the day with a Mass celebrated at St. Stephen s Cathedral (subject to confirmation) After the Mass enjoy a special tour the Cathedral (all fees included). Tour will include such highlights as the Baroque altarpieces, the miraculous image of Our Lady of Mariapocs The Weeping Madonna, tour of the Cathedral s catacombs, an underground burial place which contains the tombs of many members of the Imperial Habsburg family. Climb the 343 steps to the Turmerstube to enjoy unique views of Vienna and take a closer look at some of the cathedral's 230,000 roof tiles. Following the visit to the Cathedral enjoy a guided walking tour of the Old Town, as you stroll between University and Opera House, passing by many of Vienna s landmarks such as the former Royal Residence of Hofburg Palace, the Baroque-styled Donner Fountain and the famed Spanish Riding School (exterior views only). Lunch on your own Visit the Schonbrunn Palace (entrance fee included), the fabulous Baroque summer residence of the Hapsburg Emperors. During the reign of Maria Theresa, as an imperial summer residence, Schonbrunn Palace became the glittering focus of court life. From this time on, it played host to the leading statesmen of Europe. Here, Marie-Antoinette lived as a young girl and six-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played for the future Queen of France piano concerts inside the splendid interiors. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant Overnight in Vienna (B, D) Day 4: Vienna Melk Mariazell We depart Vienna for the Mariazell. It s a small city in Austria, well known for winter activities, but above all it is the main pilgrimage destination in Austria. Make a stop in Melk to visit with a guided tour the Melk Abbey (entrance fee included). The Baroque style structure is surrounded by a gorgeous town with Renaissance homes and winding streets reminiscent of the Middle Ages. Among the treasures housed here are paintings, sculptures, and decorative art from the 9th to 15th centuries. A magnificent library contains over 2,000 volumes from that era. One of the main characters of the popular Umberto Eco novel, The Name of the Rose, was named Adso of Melk to honour the significance the Melk Abbey played in the intellectual life in the Middle Ages. Time for lunch on your own Continue towards Mariazell Upon arrival we tour the famous Mariazell Basillica with the statue of the Virgin Mary with Infant Jesus which is the main point of pilgrimage visits. The statue is believed to have healing powers, that is why the pilgrims come to Mariazell not only from Europe, but from all over the world Celebrate Mass at the Shrine (subject to confirmation) Check into the hotel Dinner at the hotel Overnight in Mariazell (B, D) Day 5: Mariazell Admont Sound of Music Tour Salzburg Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Depart towards Salzburg

Stop en route to visit the Admont Abbey (entrance fee included), a Benedictine monastery located on the Enns River in the town of Admont. It is the oldest remaining monastery in Styria and contains the largest monastic library in the world. The abbey is known for its Baroque architecture, art, and manuscripts. The library is divided into three sections and has an overall length of 70 m (230 ft), a width of 14 m (46 ft). Celebrate Mass at the Shrine (subject to confirmation) Lunch on your own in the town of Admont Continue towards Salzburg and enjoy the Sound of Music tour en route Drive along the Austrian Lake District, with marvelous views of the Salzkammergut Region. First visit St Wolfgang at Lake Wolfgang, the major sight is the pilgrimage church, built in the 14th and 15th centuries. Visit St. Gilgen on Lake Wolfgang, which offers one of the bestknown landscapes of the Salzkammergut and the namesake fountain recalls the family connection of Mozart with this favored land. Then, continue to Mondsee to reflect at this delightful resort, where, in the movie, Maria and the Baron got married (tour with Tour Escort commentary only). Continue to Salzburg and check into the hotel upon arrival Dinner at the hotel Overnight in Salzburg (B, D) Day 6: Salzburg City Tour Breakfast at the hotel. This morning we start the day with a visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Maria Plain. The 17 th century hilltop shrine overlooking Salzburg has a painting of the Virgin Mary that miraculously survived a bakery fire. The shrine became a Minor Basilica in 1952 and was visited by Pope John Paul II in 1983. Celebrate Mass at the Shrine (subject to confirmation). Following Mass, we have a guided walking tour of the charming city of music and Mozart. During the tour we will see among others Salzburg s sights along the Getreidegasse, the city s pedestrian street, lined with authentic 17 th and 18 th century buildings, passing by the house where Mozart was born. We explore also the religious heritage of this town, including Nonnberg, believed to be the oldest nunnery in existence, founded by St. Rupert in the 8 th century, the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter, also founded by St. Rupert (exterior views only). Lunch on your own Free time at leisure Dinner at the oldest restaurant in Europe, Stiftskeller St. Peter, while listening to the music of Mozart (subject to confirmation). Return to hotel for the evening Overnight in Salzburg (B, D) Day 7: Salzburg Passau Regensburg Breakfast at the hotel and check out After breakfast board the coach and drive to Passau. Have a guided tour of Passau, the Bavarian Venice, beautifully situated at the confluence of the Danube, Ilz and Inn rivers. In 1662 a fire reduced the town to rubble, and the Baroque town we visit today was built from scratch by Italian architects (exterior views only). Visit at the magnificent St. Steven s Cathedral (entrance fee included) containing the world s largest church organ (17,774 organ pipes, 233 stops and 4 carillons). Our visit will also include the Museum of the Treasure of the Cathedral, which shows the treasures of Passau s past when it was the capital of the largest diocese of the Holy Roman Empire. Visit the Convent of Niedernburg, where we celebrate Mass (subject to confirmation) Time for lunch on your own After lunch, you will also visit the Veste Oberhaus (entrance fee included), a 13 th Century fortress atop St. George s Mount. The castle is a former residence of the prince-bishop of Passau. Board the coach and return to Regensburg Dinner and overnight in Regensburg (B, D) Day 8: Regensburg Altotting Marktl am Inn Oberammergau Breakfast at the hotel and check out Depart for Oberammergau. En route make a stop at Altotting for a guided tour of one of Germany's most celebrated shrines and a city whose purpose is pilgrimage. For more than 1250 years Altotting has been the spiritual center of Bavaria and for more than 500 years the most significant place of pilgrimage in Germany in veneration of the Virgin Mary. While there, you will have the opportunity to see the Basilica, St. Konrad's Monastery and more.

Celebrate Mass at the Shrine Lunch is under own arrangements Drive on to visit Marktl am Inn, the birth place of Emeritus Pope Benedict. Visit his birthplace and the church of St. Oswald, the christening place of Pope Benedict. Continue to Oberammergau Check into the hotel upon arrival Dinner and overnight in Oberammergau. (B, D) Day 9: Oberammergau Breakfast at the hotel Celebrate mass at a local Church This morning, after Mass at a local church, we travel to Oberammergau for some time at leisure to stroll around the town & shop for some of the town s famous woodcarving. The history of the Passion Play at Oberammergau goes back to the year 1634, when the quaint alpine village of Oberammergau was threatened by the deadly and contagious disease known as the Black Plague that scourged Europe, killing two-thirds of the population of Germany. The people of Oberammergau vowed that if the village could be spared, a re-enactment of the life and suffering of Christ would be performed. The village was miraculously saved from the ravages of the Black Death. Since that date, the play has been performed every ten years. (B,L,D) Day 10: Oberammergau Munich Breakfast at the hotel and check out Depart for Munich, the capital city of Bavaria Stop en route to visit Wieskirche, hidden amidst green meadows and snowcapped mountains this Church in the Meadow is considered to be the most beautiful rococo church in Europe. Celebrate Mass at the Shrine Continue your transfer Lunch on your own upon arrival. Take a guided sightseeing tour of Munich. Beginning with a visit to Marienplatz, with the world famous Glockenspiel, visit Asamkirche, dedicated to the martyr St. John Nepomuk, and the beautiful twin-towered Frauenkirche Church, the most familiar landmark of old Munich. Check in at the hotel Farewell dinner at a local restaurant Overnight in Munich (B, D) Day 11: Munich Departure Breakfast at the hotel. Board the coach and transfer to the Munich Airport for your homebound flight (B) Attention: Schedule on this day is subject to change depending on flight details. DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS: A deposit of $500.00 per person is required to make a reservation. An additional payment of $1000.00 per person is due by December 20 2018. The final payment is due no less than 120 days prior to the departure date of the tour ( January 20, 2020). Payment can be made by personal check or money order. Credit card payments will be accepted but will incur a 4% Surcharge at the time of booking. Reservations received after December 20, 2018 is subject to availability and may incur additional charges due to supplier contract terms. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS: If a passenger cancels his/her tour membership there will be a cancellation fee of $100.00 per person to cover administrative and communication costs up until 360 days before departure. For cancellations 360-180 days before departure the cancellation fee will be $250.00 per person. 180-120 days before departure the cancellation fee will be 50% of the Cost per person. There will be no refund for cancellations within 120 days of departure, no-shows, or partially completed tours. All cancellation requests must be addressed to Goodshepherd Travel in writing. Trip cancellation insurance is recommended. FARE INCLUSIVE: Roundtrip air transportation from (DEN) Denver, CO International Airport as indicated on the registration form. Nine (9) nights hotel accommodations, based on two people sharing a double or twin-bedded room in four star hotels by (local standards). All meals as outlined in the brochure consisting of full Local breakfasts (B), Lunch (L) and dinners at the hotel (D). Sightseeing as outlined in the itinerary by private motor coaches, utilizing the services of a Government licensed, local English speaking tour guide. Entrance fees for attractions if applicable. All transfers between airports and hotels by private motor coach. Service charges and taxes normally levied by hotels and restaurants. All U.S. & Germany s departure taxes are included in the price of the tour. Tips to guides, motor coach drivers, hotel porters, and restaurant staff (i.e., maitre d, table waiter, etc.) are Not included. The brochure price is per person in US dollars. Goodshepherd Travel is not responsible for any changes caused by unforeseen circumstances. TOUR CANCELLATION: Goodshepherd Travel reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the tour at any time. In the event of a cancellation deemed necessary by Goodshepherd Travel, the sole and exclusive responsibility of Goodshepherd Travel is to refund all monies recovered. NOT INCLUDED: Passport costs, visa fees (if any), and health documentation costs (when required); food and beverages (including coffee and tea) not usually included with the table d hote meals; optional sightseeing tours and excursions; accident and baggage insurance; transporting and handling excess luggage; tips to persons rendering special personal services; items of a purely personal nature such as laundry, telephone, and cable expenses, room service orders, etc.; transportation between the home city and the international departure city. AIR ROUTINGS: The brochure price includes IATA jet economy class transportation from the international departure city applicable on all IATA and ARC carriers, based on the 6/45 day Apex fare to the Europe. Goodshepherd Travel. Reserves the right to choose the air carrier, routing, and departure time for each passenger. Airfares used are based on contracted group fares and are highly restrictive. Payments for and restrictions on airline tickets are governed by the applicable fare. Cancellation fees levied by the airlines are applicable if you cancel or change your air ticket for any reason after purchase of air ticket. Ticketing must be completed 45 days prior to departure. Group fares do not permit deviations; passengers who wish to deviate may arrange their own airfare. An airline credit of $1250.00 will be given to those passengers who arrange their own airfare. Passengers planning to arrange their own air transportation must notify Goodshepherd Travel. in writing on or before December 20 2018. Seat numbers will be assigned by the airline at check-in; specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed. Passengers are responsible for providing frequent flyer information upon check-in. HOTELS: Tour prices are per person, based on two people sharing a room in Deluxe hotels. Single rooms are subject to availability and at an additional cost of $990.00 (tour participants without a roommate will have to pay single room surcharge). BAGGAGE: You may check no more than one (1) piece of luggage whose overall dimensions does not exceed 62 inches (length + width + height) and whose weight does not exceed fifty (50) pounds in total. Checking a second bag will cost up to $100.00. Each passenger may also bring one (1) piece of carry-on luggage. Tips to hotel porters are included for one normal sized piece of luggage, excluding carryon bags which must remain in your possession at all times. These regulations may change without notice so please read the monthly correspondence you will receive from Goodshepherd Travel for the most current information. Garment bags cannot be carried. Under no circumstances may dangerous articles such as firearms, explosives, oxygen, or combustible substances be contained in any baggage. Medications, valuables, passports, and a change of clothing should be packed in your carry-on bag. DISABILITIES: Due to the difficult terrain at sites we visit, persons requiring oxygen or oxygen therapy will not be permitted on the tour. For reasons of passenger safety and well-being, persons with impaired mobility, vision, or mental capacity will not be permitted on the tour. Goodshepherd Travel reserves the right to refuse passage to someone who is in such physical or mental condition as to be unfit for travel or who may require care and attention beyond that which the tour guide and tour host can provide. The tour requires a substantial amount of walking and the sites are not accessible by wheelchair. INSURANCE: Acting only as agents for suppliers, Goodshepherd Travel is not responsible for damage, loss, or theft of luggage and/or personal belongings, or for personal injury, accident, illness and/or death as a result of any occurrences or conditions beyond its control, including, but not limited to, defects in vehicles, breakdown in equipment, strikes, terrorist attacks, hostage situations, kidnappings, hijackings, protests, riots, public demonstrations, or theft. For your protection, it is important that you have adequate insurance to cover these possibilities. Additional information and application forms for all types of coverage will be supplied you prior to departure. PASSPORT: A valid passport is required and must be obtained in person by each tour member. Complete instructions and application forms for passports can be obtained by contacting your local courthouse or post office. PRICE CHANGES: Tour conditions and air fares are subject to Governmental, IATA, ARC, and airline regulation requirements in effect at the date of and during the tour. All rates are quoted in US dollars and are based on tariffs and costs in effect in April 2018, and are subject to change without notice. Taxes and fuel surcharges of $574.00 are included in your tour cost and are subject to change without notice. Goodshepherd Travel reserves the right to pass along additional fuel surcharges or additional taxes imposed by the airline.
