Oocl.com/belgium/ My OOCL Center oocl.com/netherlands/ Issue 2012/5 Date October 21 st 2012 OOCL TIDINGS GENERAL New G6 Feeder Shuttle Between German Ports and Gothenburg It has recently been announced that the partners of the G6 Alliance will underline their commitment to the Scandinavian market and start a dedicated G6 feeder shuttle to Gothenburg. The service will provide a seamless coverage for the time of the temporary winter suspension of Loop 3. The rotation of the Gothenburg Express service (GTE) will be Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Gothenburg and Bremerhaven again with calls at both terminals CTA and CTB in Hamburg. First sailings of the GTE are scheduled for November 18 in Bremerhaven, November 20 in Hamburg and November 22 in Gothenburg (ETA). The G6 Alliance members are APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), Mitsui O.S.K. (MOL) Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) Line and OOCL. G6 Alliance implements Asia-Europe Winter Program In preparation for the vessel maintenance schedule in the winter and consideration of the forecasted lack of improvements in the market environment in the Asia-Europe trade, the members of the G6 Alliance have decided to temporarily suspend their Loop 3 service between the Far East and Europe until further notice. The last sailing for Loop 3 has been OOCL Hamburg departing from Shanghai on October 6. All ports will be covered by other services. The G6 Alliance will continue offering a variety of services between the Far East and Europe covering all major port pairs with weekly sailings. The market environment will be closely monitored for the resumption of the Loop 3 service accordingly. The G6 Alliance members are: APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Orient Overseas Container Line.
Keel Laying Ceremony for Third 13,200 TEU Vessel We are happy to announce that the third of our ten 13,200 TEU vessels ordered from Samsung, had its keel laid on September 21, 2012 at Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea. The steel cutting of this vessel was done on March 16, 2012 and the vessel is due to be launched on December 1, 2012 and delivered on February 18, 2013, as per current production schedule. New Intra Europe SBX3 Service We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new service to the Intra-Europe network, the Scan Baltic Express 3 (SBX3). The new service, which is operated by OOCL with two 1,000 TEU (twenty foot equivalent unit) containerships serving Hamburg and St. Petersburg, commenced on September 21 with the inaugural sailing from Hamburg. The SBX3 is an additional service for the Baltic network which complements our existing service offering a comprehensive coverage between Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Finland and Sweden. The commencement of the SBX3 will also provide greater shipping flexibility for customers during the winter with an overall service quality improvement across all SBX products. OOCL launches Mobile Rates of Exchange A new Mobile Rates of Exchange solution is now available from OOCL s mobile website http://m.oocl.com. The solution is the latest feature of the online interactive My OOCL Center platform, which was launched in March 2009 to save time and lower business costs. To find rates of exchange, use the vessel tracking by Bessel or by port function, and the rates will be shown in the search results.
