We will journey through Ireland at a leisurely pace and see the popular sights and some not seen by many tourists. Day 1 Dublin Welcome to Ireland! On arrival into Dublin Airport, you will be met by your driver in the Arrivals Terminal to begin your Journey Through Ireland. Your driver guide will bring you on an orientation city tour and show you the highlights of Ireland s Capital City, Dublin. Guinness Storehouse No visit to Ireland would be complete without a visit to the Guinness Storehouse. Here you can learn about the famous Black stuff and enjoy a complimentary pint of Guinness in the Gravity Bar which enjoys panoramic views of the City. Relax on a 90-minute city tour and then use the bus to transfer you between attractions. Book of Kells You will visit to Trinity College with its cobbled courtyards where you will see the famous Book of Kells. Food, Folklore & Fairies This evening, enjoy Food, Folklore & Fairies at the Brazen Head Pub, the oldest pub in Dublin and take your imagination back in time as you listen to the magical tales of Irish Folklore which our ancestors shared when they gathered around the fire at night. Day 3 Galway You will depart Dublin and travel to Galway City, the friendliest of Irish cities! Galway City You will enjoy an orientation tour of Galway City. View Eyre Square, Spanish Arch, the Claddagh District and Galway Cathedral, built on an island in the River Corrib on the site of an old prison. Explore the pedestrianized streets and soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant city. Deluxe Whiskey Trail Enjoy a Deluxe Whiskey Trail which starts at 6pm. The Deluxe Trail showcases the best Whiskey paired with delicious local Irish produce. The Cliffs of Moher The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's top Visitor attractions and are a designated UNESCO Geo Park. The Cliffs are 695 ft high at the highest point and range for 5 miles over the Atlantic Ocean on the western seaboard of County Clare. You might enjoy a cheeky pint at the seaside village of Doolin, The Home of Traditional Irish Music. Set against the rugged Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by a spectacular bare limestone landscape of the Burren, Doolin is a place of breathtaking beauty. Keep an eye out for the information points on the Burren as you travel. Bunratty Folk Park Next visit Bunratty Folk Park, a living reconstruction of the homes and environment of Ireland of over a century ago. Roam through the park and see the rural farmhouses, village shops and streets which have been recreated and furnished to a time that once was. Visit Bunratty Woollen Shop for your last chance to pick up some gifts. Afterwards you might like to visit Durty Nelly s traditional Irish pub for refreshments. Medieval Banquet This evening, join the Earl of Thomond for a glorious banquet at this majestic 15th century Bunratty Castle. Day 5 Slea Head & Dingle Slea Head is Europe s most westerly point and its outlying historic Blasket Islands are known locally as the next parish to America. The unsurpassed beauty of its rugged coastline and landscape inspired the famous film director David Lean to shoot his epic film Ryan s Daughter on location in the Dingle Peninsula. The landscape is dotted with ancient historic sites and early Christian dwellings such as the Gallarus Oratory [9th century Christian Oratory], Beehive Huts (early Christian Monks dwellings) and the Blasket Islands Interpretative Centre. The route passes through Milltown and Castlemaine before arriving at the beautiful fishing harbor town of Dingle, home of Ireland s favorite dolphin Fungi. Perhaps visit to Foxy John s on Main St is one example and stocks hardware and outdoor clothing as well as beer and whiskey. Return to Killarney to enjoy your evening. Day 6 Killarney Today you can take the day to relax and enjoy the vibrant town of Killarney. Head to Killarney National Park and take in the stunning scenery of mountains, lakes and woodlands. Visit the historic Muckross House and Gardens. This 19th century mansion depicts what life was like in Ireland during this period. You might enjoy a visit to the stunning Torc Waterfall which is well worth a look. If you enjoy walking, there are walking trails mapped out beside the Waterfall which are most enjoyable. Lake Cruise Cruise on Killarney's largest lake, Lough Lein (the lake of learning) in the comfort and safety of a modern glass-covered boat. Drift through the islands on board the MV The Lily of Killarney watercoach cruiser and relax in the beauty and splendor that surrounds you. The balance of the day will be at your leisure in Killarney where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the abundance of restaurants and pubs this evening. Visit to the Danny Mann pub where there is usually traditional Irish music to be found! Accommodation: 4* Hotel, Killarney or similar Day 7 Kilkenny Depart Killarney and make your way across towards Kilkenny. Blarney Castle En-route visit to Blarney where Blarney Castle, a 15th century McCarthy Castle, is legend. You will enjoy a stroll through the estate to the castle and then climb to the top and kiss the Blarney Stone. It is said that you will obtain the gift of eloquent speech by kissing the stone, otherwise known as The Gift of the Gab!. A visit to the Blarney Woollen Mills is also highly recommended, with its fantastic variety of Irish crafts available for sale and its wonderful restaurant. Alternatively, head across Blarney square and stop at the Muskerry Arms Bar, where you re guaranteed to get a traditional Irish meal and a chat with the locals. Continue to Kilkenny.
