ITINERARY 5 days, 4 nights Day 1: Torres del Paine At 11:30 am, we will meet at Fantástico Sur's office in Puerto Natales for a technical talk. Then, we will take the 2:30 pm bus to Torres del Paine National Park. The trip takes about 2.5 hours (112 km). We will arrive in the afternoon, have dinner, and sleep in the Central Sector. Induction talk Departure from (approx. 2.5 hours) Central Sector Day 2: Hike to Las Torres Base Lookout Point Early in the morning, we will begin our hike to one of the park s landmarks, Las Torres Base Lookout Point. During the first stretch, we will walk through the pampa, cross the Ascencio River and then climb 3 km up to Los Vientos Mountain Pass where we will enjoy amazing views of the valley and lakes. We will continue our journey to the Chileno Mountain Refuge, and then go deep into a lenga beech forest up to La Morrena, where the hardest part of the hike begins. We will follow a rock trail to the spectacular Las Torres Base Lookout Point. Later, we will begin our descent to the Central Sector to have dinner and sleep. 8 to 10 hours 19.5 km Difficulty High Altitude Initial: 120 m Highest: 870 m Central Sector Day 3: Hike Francés Sector We will walk about 13.5 km along the shore of Nordenskjöld Lake, Almirante Nieto Hill, and the striking Cuernos del Paine. During the hike, we will enjoy magnificent views of Los Cuernos, hanging glaciers, lakes, and the abundant local vegetation and wildlife. We will have dinner and sleep in the Francés Sector. 4.5 to 6.5 hours 13.5 km Difficulty Medium Elevation gain 200 m Francés Sector
Day 4: Hike Francés Valley Our day begins with one of the icons of the circuit, the Francés Valley. We will begin early with a light hike to the Italiano Campsite. From there, we will begin our climb through the woods (about 2 km) up the Francés River Valley. We will continue to the Francés Lookout Point, where we will enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of the circuit, the view to the valley framed by the Hills Paine Grande, Catedral, Hoja, Máscara, Espada, Aleta de Tiburón, and Cuerno del Norte. It will leave you speechless. After this spectacle, we will begin our descent to the Paine Grande Sector. 8 to 10 hours Difficulty 20.5 km High Altitude Initial: 120 m Highest: 709 m Paine Grande Day 5: Hike Grey Glacier Sector - Pehoé Lake Navigation - Return to On this day, we will reach the third milestone of the circuit, a place that offers one of the most unforgettable sceneries of the park, the magnificent Grey Glacier. The trail goes around the Paine Grande Hill, the highest peak in the mountain range (3,050 m), with incredible views of its hanging glaciers. Walking amidst Antarctic Beech (ñirre), Dombey's beech (coigüe), and Chilean firebush (notro), we will reach the first lookout point of Grey Lake, where we will see floating pieces of glacier. We will continue to walk towards the imposing view of Grey Glacier to reach the Grey Sector. Then, we will return to the Paine Grande Sector and take the 6:30 pm catamaran that will take us to Pudeto. Guests must go to our office in at 11:30 am for a technical talk from the guide, as well as to get maps, vouchers, and any other necessary documents. According to the Tax Code, to be exempt from the 19% VAT, international guests must provide the following documents upon check-in: Passport and Immigration Form (given by the Immigration Officer upon arrival). If the documents are not provided, the tax will be charged in CLP at the beginning of the program. Remember, for every night you pay in one of our lodgings, USD $2 is donated to our NGO AMA Torres del Paine. This way we all contribute to the natural and cultural conservation of the Park and of Cerro Paine Reserve. At Christmas (12/25/2018) and New Year s Eve an extra USD $30 will be charged for a special buffet dinner.
