Welcome Divi Divi Air Aruba Airport proudly welcomed Divi Divi Air to the island on April 23 rd, 2018 with their new service to Curacao. The traditional ribbon cutting was performed by Divi Divi Air s Accountable Manager Mrs. Germaine Durand, Divi Divi Air s COO Mr. Reginald Richie, ATA s Senior PR & Communication Specialist Ms. Sjeidy Feliciano and AAA s CCO Mrs. Barbara Brown.
Inaugural Divi Divi Air On April 23 rd, 2018, Aruba Airport warmly welcomed Divi Divi Air for the inauguration of the new service to and from Curacao. Passengers on board were greeted by the AAA team and press members. AAA s CCO, Mrs. Barbara Brown and ATA s Senior PR & Communication Specialist, Mrs. Sjeidy Feliciano officially welcomed and congratulated Divi Divi Air on the new service and thanked them for their business relationship with a token of appreciation. Mrs. Germaine Durand, Accountable Manager for the airline, also expressed the airline s gratitude on this exciting milestone. Divi Divi Air has 6 weekly flights to Curacao and 1 weekly flight to Bonaire. Gateway 2030 PMO Offices As the civil works for the enabling works continue as per schedule, the Project Management Operations (PMO) team recently moved into their new offices on May 10 th, 2018. The purpose is to have the PMO on premises to ensure that all plans continue as scheduled.
KAAMCO Visit at Aruba Airport The Kennedy Airport Airlines Management Council (KAAMCO) chose Aruba this year as the location for their annual Convention held during the last weekend of April. The delegation of approximately 50 participants was welcomed by AAA s CEO, Mr. James Fazio. King s day was the perfect day for AAA to welcome the group with a cocktail reception where everyone could enjoy a relaxing evening with great food and beverage, music and a magical Aruba sunset experience. AAA also hosted the KAAMCO delegation at the airport for a presentation on the Airport s future developments and the incorporation of innovative techniques into the day-today operations of Aruba Airport. A tour of the facilities and the various Biometric programs was also provided. KAAMCO is an association comprised of Station Managers and vendors of all scheduled airlines operating into and out of John-F. Kennedy International Airport, New York. The purpose of the Council is to foster, encourage and stimulate cooperation among the scheduled airlines, Port Authority and other agencies, entities and partners who operate at JFK International Airport. King s Day Festivities On April 27 th, 2018, Aruba Airport celebrated King s Day and welcomed over 2000 passengers in the arrivals area. All passengers were given a small bag of crown-shaped cookies as a treat and a golden crown to feel just like a King or Queen for the day.
Fire Safety Awareness Training AAA recently held its first Fire Safety Awareness training for its Emergency Response Team, Management Team, Airside and Landside personnel, Security and Operations Supervisors, IT Department and Safety personnel on May 7 th, 8 th and 9 th, 2018. All employees received a hands-on training on different aspects of fire and safety hazards from electric overload of power outlets to trash bin fires caused by cigarettes. All employees who attended received a certificate of completion at the end of the exciting day. Official Spotter s Day Aruba Airport recently launched its Calling All Spotters campaign with the purpose of generating local Spotters registration for an upcoming first ever Official Spotters Day at Aruba Airport. All Spotters who qualify will be selected and invited for an opportunity to be able to take their pictures on the runway. The objective of this day is to build a relationship between the airport team and the spotters to create unique content and share these on Aruba Airport s online platforms whilst giving credit to the spotters. Furthermore, a contest will be held for the Best Spotter Picture and the winner will receive a prize.

AAA news In The Spotlight: Island Breeze Island Breeze Stores are part of the De Wit Stores group of stores. De Wit Stores has in total 28 locations in Hotels, Malls around the Island, including 8 Island Breeze store/kiosks at Aruba Airport established for almost 12 years. The Main Island Breeze store is located after the first security stop at the ground level and six Island Breeze kiosks are located at Gates 2, 3, 5, 6 & 8, with a total of 26 employees. The store offers a wide variety of articles ranging from Books, Magazines, Beauty & Health, Souvenirs, and Toys to a large assortment of chips, chocolates and candies. From People Magazine, Pocketbooks, Barbie, Lego, Dutch, Chocolates and Haribo candies to the ultimate souvenir from Aruba or to the number ONE selling item I Love Aruba T- shirt or a Balashi T-shirt, they have them all. Their customer service, the multiple languages that their employees can speak and the variety of the merchandise with a touch of Holland is what sets them apart. Last February, the Island Breeze Stores had been awarded with the Concessionaire 2017 prize of AAA. Winning the Concessionaire prize 2017 was not possible without the great cooperation received from all the staff members of AAA for the last 15 years, said Joanne Croes, Manager Sales & Store Operations.
