CSA TRUST FUND LIMITED TRAINING EXERCISES FOR 2017 DELIVERING TRAINING, A PARTNERSHIP TO CSA MEMBERS

CSA TRUST FUND LIMITED This company began as a part of the Caribbean Shipping Association s mandate to provide training to the shipping community. It has since evolved into being a stand alone entity which has trained thousands of participants since its inception. For future, the CSA Trust Fund Ltd hopes to double the amount of persons trained to date with the many advances in technology and procedures in the shipping and affiliated industries. A yearly training schedule is prepared with focus being to provide at least 5 workshops, seminars or a mixed delivery in five different countries. For 2017, the programmes were evenly spread over the Dutch, English, French and Spanish speaking territories.

KINGSTON WHARVES LTD TERMINAL EXCHANGE- FEBRUARY 20-24, 2017 This seminar/workshop opened the training year. Nine participants from over 5 countries took part in this exercise. For five days they were immersed into the operations of Kingston Wharves Limited with various department supervisors and managers imparting their knowledge.

FALMOUTH CRUISE TERMINAL EXPEDITION As a part of the exercise, KWL was hosted by the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJ) at the Falmouth Cruise Terminal where the trainees had the privilege to see the facilities and experience two vessels on call. A walkthrough tour was conducted by head of Operations at the Terminal Mr. Senior. The Candidates were treated to an extensive background on the development of the terminal facilities and protocols.

TESTIMONIALS Mr. Sudarmo Toby, Assistant Operations Officer at the St. Vincent & the Grenadines Ports Authority, presented a group testimonial and thank you on behalf of his fellow trainees and himself to both the CSA and KWL on the closing day of the training. The gratitude for the opportunity was exceptionally resonant throughout Mr.Toby s presentation.

BROMMA MOBILE HARBOR CRANEKINGSTON WHARVES LIMITED THIS SESSION WAS THE SECOND OF ITS KIND TO HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED AT THE KINGSTON WHARVES LTD TERMINAL.

BROMMA/CARGOTEC PROGRAMME OUTREACH In an ongoing collaboration with the CSA, BROMMA/CARGOTEC hosted a training seminar at the Kingston Wharves Limited demonstrating techniques to use their latest mobile harbour crane model. TESTIMONAL The training received was very informative and extensive. The interaction with your staff members and exchange of knowledge and experiences was most welcome. In my opinion this goes well for both our ports and the Caribbean on a whole. It is also my opinion that more joint training be conducted on other pieces of equipment which both of our companies use. Example Taylor and Terex. Again thank you for the experience and opportunity. - Dale Williams Barbados Port Inc.
