Accommodations Twelve area hotels have been contracted to provide accommodations for the visiting athletes from the many countries attending. Please see your National Federation s Age Group Team Manager for more details about your accommodations. For those athletes interested, some home stays may be available. Accreditation (athletes) All athletes will be provided with a wristband when picking up the race packet. Elite and Para athletes will receive them after their race brief. Age group athletes will receive them in conjunction with the race packet pick-up. The personal wristband must be attached to your wristfrom Thursday morning until Sunday. Accreditation (managers) The accreditation badges will be handed out Wednesday at 4pm at the Team Managers Meeting at the Devon Boathouse in the Boathouse District. Accreditation (press) Press, media and photographers, please contact the LOC (info@redmantriathlon.com) to receive an accreditation for race venue access. Accreditation badges will be handed out Friday between 9am and 12pm at the Devon Boathouse in the Boathouse District. Anti-doping We work for a zero tolerance attitude towards doping and kindly ask you to thoroughly read the anti-doping international standards and the 2016 prohibited list. Athlete Medical Form Immediately after registration closes on September 1st, we will begin communicating with you or your team manager. We will provide a link to an electronic form which solicits concise but comprehensive info about any medical condition that you might have or medications that you are taking just in case you come to visit our world class medical tent. We will provide solid deadlines for your return of the information. This form requires your Bib number - which when assigned will be under the Registrant/BIB List under the Registration Tab of the Redman website and the athlete list link at the 2016 World Championship Site http://www.friendsofmultisport.com/event/ world-championship Athlete s Finish Area Athletes are encouraged to recover in the finish line tent. Here you will find a place to sit down for a while and all kinds of refreshments. Aid Stations There will be 10 opportunities for nutrition on the bike course. The following will be supplied: Water, Gatorade, Clif bars & bloks, Pickle juice, Pretzels, Bananas and many other options. Allergies Please provide personal allergy information on the Athlete Medical Form. Award Ceremony The elite award ceremony will be held at the Lake Hefner Field of Play as soon as the top 3 men and women have crossed the finish line. Award ceremony for age group and para athletes will be held on Sunday at 10am in conjunction with the 9am Breakfast and closing ceremony at the Devon Boathouse. Bag Check-in (AG only) All Long Distance age group athletes must check-in their transition bags prior to the closing of transition at 6:30am on race morning. More information about the Transition Area bags can be found under Transition Area Bags below. Bib Numbers As we get closer to the event (early September) we will want you to see the Athlete List to retrieve your bib number. We will want you to know your bib number when we request the Athlete Medical Form information, as well as when you pick up your packet. Be mindful that on-line forms can be finicky and work best with Google Chrome and Firefox browsers. 1

Bike Check-in All Athletes must check-in their bikes at the Lake Hefner Field of Play on Friday, September 23. Bike check in starts at 1pm and closes at 7pm. There will be overnight security in the transition area. Your bike will be thoroughly checked for safety issues and other issues adhering to general ITU rules and regulations. Examples: The saddle post sticker should be placed fully visible. Your brakes should be fully functional. You must not have open ends on your handle bars (bar plugs available). All stickers should be attached on your frame. Your helmet must be in good condition and have all stickers attached. Bike Service Wednesday 12pm-5pm Devon Boathouse Thursday 10a-4pm Devon Boathouse Friday 12pm-7pm Lake Hefner Saturday 5am-6:30am Lake Hefner Bike Shipment and Assembly Race Day Transport (GoRaceDayTransport.com) has become our official partner and bike shipment and assembly option. Race Day Transport and our other long-term sponsors, Schlegel Bicycles (SchlegelBicycles.com), will take exceptional care of your bike needs. Blue Bags (for all Long Distance athletes) All Long Distance Age Group Athletes will receive a blue plastic bag in the race packet. This blue bag is for your extra clothes that you wear before start and after finish. Please notice that the number tag for your bag is in the race packet and should be attached to the blue plastic bag. This blue bag must be droppedoff before the start in the area near transition. They must be picked up from the same area after the race. Boathouse District The Boathouse District is a unique destination for athletes, metro area families and visitors to Oklahoma City. The official address for mapping purposes is Boathouse District Oklahoma River 725 S. Lincoln Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73129 Briefing The Team Manager briefing is designed to provide all information about the event and possible changes in the planned schedule. This race brief will take place on Wednesday at the Devon Boathouse in the Boathouse District: 3pm for elite and para athletes and 4pm for AG Team Managers. Late arrival athletes need to get the latest information from their team manager or look for it in the Information Area at the Devon Boathouse. Coach s Area on the Course On the bike segment there will be one coach s area for accredited team coaches to supply their athletes with their own nutrition. This Coach s Area will be located at BAS-1. All coaches must be registered by their National Federation through the ITU Online Entry System. Coach s access is given by the National Federation according to the number of athletes entered. The official aid station is located approximately 3 miles from the bike start. All outside assistance is prohibited. Along the run course, the Coach s Area will be located at R-1. Closing Ceremony - Sunday The closing ceremony and 9am breakfast will take place in conjunction with the AG and para award ceremony on Sunday at 10am at the Devon Boathouse in the Boathouse District. The breakfast is included in the entry fee. Course Familiarization at Field of Play Swim Course Familiarization: Thursday and Friday, September 22nd and 23rd between 7am and 9am. Volunteers in kayaks will be there for safety. The course will be marked with buoys. Run Course Familiarization: Athletes who wish to see the run course are welcome to gather at the TA at 10:30am on Wednesday, September 21 or 10:30am Thursday, September 22nd Bike Course Familiarization: Athletes who wish to see the bike course are welcome to gather next to the TA at 1pm on Wednesday, September 21st, 10am Thursday, September 22, or 10:30am and 2pm on Friday, September 23rd. Please note that the roads are NOT closed for traffic at this point. Body Tattoo Located in your race packet you will have body tattoos. You are responsible for attaching these to the appropriate locations on your arm and leg. 2

Cut-Off Times ITU rules require an official cut-off time for the swim: 2 hours 15 minutes after each wave starts. Distances 4km swim, 120km bike and 30km run: Swim 4km (2x2000m): The swim takes place at Lake Hefner in Northwest Oklahoma City. This body of water is the water supply for Oklahoma City and is only swam in by the athletes of our event. Bike 120km (1x120km): The course takes the long distance athletes out into the warm and humid air of the Oklahoma countryside. The course, some urban, but mostly rural, is a series of mildly undulating hills with the greatest challenge being the strong country winds. Opening times: Wednesday 12pm-5pm Thursday 10am-7:30pm Friday 10am-6pm Saturday 8am-7pm Sunday 8:30am-12pm Facebook https://www.facebook.com/friendsofmultisport/ Food Plan Box lunches will be available for sale in the Athlete s Meal Tent (Boathouse District) on Wednesday 11am- 1pm; Thursday 11am-2pm and Friday 11am-2pm. There will be chicken, beef and vegetarian options. We also encourage you to visit the following restaurants that are participating in our event related beer program. Join them and purchase a pint of Triple Threat Wheat or Transition Ale. Run 30km (3x10km): The run course, also staged on the flat and fast closed course of Lake Hefner, gives the athletes plenty of time to size up the competition as they cut through the warm fall breezes along the beautiful lake. Middle Distance Event - 1.24M, 48M, 12.4M DNF (Did Not Finish) If for some reason you are unable to complete the race, please contact the nearest official who will help you. Do not forget to return your timing chip. Entry To enter in the 2016 World Championships in Oklahoma City, you have to be qualified for the event and register participation through your National Federation. Please contact your National Federation for specific qualification criteria of your country. Entry Fee World Championships: 325 USD which includes the pasta party, the breakfast and closing ceremony. Redman Citizens Wave: Long Distance 350 USD, Middle Distance 300 USD, which includes the pasta party, the breakfast and closing ceremony. Expo There will be an expo with sale of various triathlon related products and more. The expo tent will be at the Administrative Site (Boathouse District) on Wednesday through Friday and again on Sunday. On Race Day (Saturday) the expo tent will be open at the field of play (Lake Hefner). Medical Our world class medical tent provides the best in care for athletes in need of medical attention. Nutrition There will be 10 opportunities for nutrition on the bike course. Opening Ceremony The official opening ceremony of the LD World Championship will take place will take place at the Devon Boathouse on Thursday at 6:30pm in conjunction with the Parade. Parade of Nations On Thursday, September 22nd at 4pm, all nations will gather the Parade of Nations Staging Area located on South Lincoln Boulevard near the Oklahoma River. Just look for your country s flag. The parade will start at 4:30pm and be followed by the Pasta Party and the Opening Ceremony. Parking Various parking will be available at or near the field of play. All spectators are encouraged to park at 63rd & Portland and ride the free shuttle to the race site. A parking map will be posted as race day nears. Participant Photography Photography services will conducted by JARandell. http://www.jarandell.com Pasta Party Included in the entry fee, the pasta party will be on Thursday at 5pm at the Devon Boathouse. It is possible for family, friends and managers to buy tickets for this event for 15USD. Just send an e-mail to info@ redmantriathlon.com to get more details. Preparation Area (elite and para athletes only) The preparation area will be located in the Elite Athletes Lounge and is available for elite and para athletes only. Before the start, the lounge will be the place for the final uniform check. Press See Accreditation (press) above. Press Conference (Elite only) A press conference will take place in conjunction with the elite and para briefing on Thursday, September 22 at 2pm in the Devon Boathouse. There will also be a press conference after the race on Saturday at the Lake Hefner Field of Play (approximately 1pm). You may also follow an athlete with live tracking on our event website located at http://www.friendsofmultisport.com/event/ world-championship Race Packet Pick-Up Age group athletes are welcome to pick-up their race packet on Wednesday 12pm-5pm; Thursday 10am- 4pm and Friday 10am-6pm. Elite and para athletes are welcome to pick-up with their race packet on Thursday 3pm-4pm. The pick-up requires valid identification. The packet contains race bib, swim cap, stickers set, tattoo set, timing chip and transition bags (AG only). Registration To enter into the ITU 2016 Long Distance Triathlon World Championships in Oklahoma City, you must have qualified for the event. In addition, you must register via your National Federation. Please contact the National Federation for the specific qualification criteria for your country. A list of all federations can be found on ITU s website. The Redman Triathlon accommodates 1200 athletes. If, for some reason, not all slots are used by the World Championships, athletes wishing to race side by side with the World Championship qualified athletes may register to fill any remaining slots after August 5, 2016. These slots will be open from August 5 to August 15 or until the event fills. Results Event results will be displayed after the competition is finished and available on ITU s website triathlon.org. We do plan to offer a live stream via the ITU website, as well as live tracking via our timing system. The link for tracking will be available at http://www.friendsofmultisport.com/event/world-championship as well as the front page of the Redman Triathlon site. Rules and Regulations LD Tri World Championship conforms to the rules and regulations as formulated by the International Triathlon Union (ITU). For ITU s Official Competition Rules please visit their website at http://www.triathlon.org The Citizen s wave will follow USAT Rules https://www. teamusa.org/usa-triathlon Refund of Entry Fee There will be no refunds in 2016. Schedule Please see the last page for the complete schedule. Start Procedure Elite (men and women) start at 7:30am. The age group and paratri athletes will start in waves after the elite at 7:34am. Swimming Pool There will be swimming pools located near Lake Hefner Field of Play. You must show your wristband at the front desk to use the pool. Please see the schedule for locations and hours. Timing (chip, results) For the Age Group athletes the timing is in the race packet. Elite and para athletes will receive it at the final uniform check on race day. The timing clip shall be attached with the Velcro band around your left ankle. Toilets There will be toilets close to the TA and in the event area. On the bike course there will be toilets at each aid station. On the run course there will be toilets at each aid station. Transition Area (TA) The TA is located at the field of play. There will be over-night security in TA between Friday and Saturday. Transition Area Bags All Long Distance Age Group Athletes will receive three differently colored bags. The red and the white bag must be checked in before start. You must attach the start number sticker, which can be found in the race packet, to all three bags. The blue bag is handed in at the bag drop close to the transition area. The red bag is for your running gear. The white is for bike gear (except for shoes that are fixed on your pedals). The blue bag is for your extra clothes (please section above for more information about this bag). NOTE that no excessive gear is allowed in the Transition area. The TA must be held clean at all times. Transition Area Check-Out All athletes must be out on the run before you are allowed to check out your equipment from the transition area. You need to show your bib number to collect your bike and other equipment. 5

Transportation In Collaboration with the Chickasaw Nation we will offer shuttle service on a set schedule to every event related location, including host hotels, based on the event schedule. Details and more information on other options will be available as the event nears. As a matter of formality and clarity - Any Redman/Citizen s Wave (non-world Championship qualified) age group athlete s uniform must avoid any country name or affiliation so as not to be confused with the country uniforms worn by LD World Championship Athletes. Wetsuits Weather is typically very warm all summer, but each of the last years, we have been wetsuit legal. Wristband All athletes must wear the wristband which is assigned at the registration. The wristband is your accreditation certificate and gives you the right to be in the athletes zones in the race venue and must be worn and shown for access to the swimming pools. The personal wristband must be attached to your wrist from Thursday morning until Sunday after the closing ceremony.
