Lodging: Host families, campgrounds and hostels Weather: Daytime: 20 to 25 C, may go up to 30, nighttime 15, occasionally rain shower Language: English Arrival: On Friday June 28 th, 2019, Hanover Airport (HAJ) or Main Railway Station you will be picked up by your host family
Rotary Summer Camp 2019 Sports and Culture 13 full days of sports and cultural activities in Northern Germany Program Your host family will pick you up at Hanover Airport or Main Railway Station on June 28 th, 2019. Please try to arrive before 5 pm. You will be staying at the home of your host family for the first two and the last six nights. For five days we will be biking alongside the Weser river on bike paths. The paths are easy to bike with an overall distance of 250km. You will experience beautiful landscapes, medieval cities, castles and four UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Finally, you have the chance to learn some acrobatics with a professional circus trainer. If there are less than 16 persons, we reserve the right to cancel the camp activity. RI District 1800 Mr. Henning Ahlers Henning.Ahlers@hs-hannover.de ADDITIONAL FACT SHEET Application: Acceptances will be granted on a first come first served basis subject to country and gender limitations above. As soon as the acceptance of your application is send to you via e-mail, the amount of EUR200 excl. all remittance fee has to be wired within three weeks. All applicants have to arrive with a full return ticket and necessary visa. Insurance: All participants coming to Germany have to buy a German insurance before they leave home to travel to Germany. The insurance is underwritten by the HanseMerkurVersicherungs AG and covers the risks health, liability and accident and meets the Rotary International requirements: https://www.rotary-jd.de/inbound-informationen/insurance/ Biking Tour: The biking tour will be accompanied by at least three Rotarian club members, including one female member. All campgrounds we will stay at are managed. We will provide regular touring bikes with gearing, spacious tents and comfortable air beds. Please bring your own sleeping bag and a small backpack for the day. Tents, air beds, sleeping bags and your luggage will be transported by an accompanying van. Requirements: All participants MUST be able to swim and to ride a bike safely. We will ride along the Weser river and the Mittelland Canal, therefore biking is easy with slight altitude difference. The camp is non-smoking. Clothing: Please bring casual and sports clothes, swim and rain wear, warm sweater and sneakers.
