Travel insurance OVERVIEW & ITINERARY A tour to the historical sites of Mexico is a great way to get a glimpse into the country s rich culture and heritage. An important archaeological site in the world, the ancient Pyramids of Teotihuacan will leave you spellbound. Considered a place of great energy, you ll see people meditating on the top of the Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon. Take a trip to The Zocalo and watch conchero dancers in feathered head dresses and shell anklets, perform to the rhythm of pounding drums. It is a true spectacle to watch the cliff divers in Acapulco plunge from a great height into almost 4 metres of rough surf. Don t forget to bargain for some fine silver jewellery at the silver-mining town of Taxco.
Itinerary: Day 1: Australia to Mexico City Arrive at the Mexico City International airport and you will be transferred in a coach to your hotel (5 Star Hotel) located in the heart of the city, near the cultural and commercial zone of Mexico. The hotel has spacious rooms with all modern amenities, restaurant, bar, gift shop, fitness centre, beauty shop and swimming pool among others. You are at leisure for the rest of the day. Flight arrival must be between 08:00am and 8:00pm. For flights outside these times, please see supplementary costs below. In private car max 2 pax, US$ 50 (Driver only) In private van max 6 pax, US$73 (Driver Only) In private Sprinter van max 15 Pax, US$168 (driver only) Day 2: Mexico City Day Tour In the morning, accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will be taken on a tour of the historical centre of Mexico City with a visit to The Zocalo, a massive concrete area signed with a giant flag. Inside the underground Zocalo station, you ll see historical reproductions of the Square, exhibits of ceremonial offerings and stone statues of goddesses among others. Continue to the Metropolitan Cathedral which represents a synthesis of art forms in New Spain. The church has a baroque and neo classical façade, its Altar of Forgiveness, the sacristy, and the Altar of Kings are worth looking out for! Proceed to the National Palace and you ll see patios, corridors and stairways adorned with impressive murals by Diego Rivera depicting the history of Mexico. Visit the Anthropology Museum, (Closed on Mondays) one of the world s 10 best museums and take a guided tour to learn about the pre-hispanic history of Meso-America. Return to your hotel in the evening and spend the night.
Day 3: Guadalupe Shrine and Teotihuacan Pyramids In the morning, set out on a guided excursion to the Guadalupe Shrine and to the famous Teotihuacan Pyramids, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. It was a place where sacrifices were made to the god, often in correlation with astronomical events. You can even climb to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun (third largest in the world) and the Pyramid of the Moon. Visit the Citadel, a large open space surrounded by temples and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl (the feathered serpent) decorated with sculptures of serpent s head, snails, shells and symbols of water. Return to your hotel and spend the night. Day 4: Mexico City to Taxco Take a guided excursion to Cuernavaca, the city of eternal spring and Taxco, the silver city. Cuernavaca is a colonial city popular for the Palacio de Cortes, an imposing medieval-style fortress and pre- Hispanic sites. Taxco is a quaint silver-mining town nestled on a steep hillside and has narrow cobblestone streets lined with well preserved colonial buildings. You could shop for some fine silver jewellery here. You will be taken to Posada De La Mision located on a hillside in Taxco. The hotel features elegantly decorated guestrooms with terrace offering a magnificent view of the city, restaurant,
outdoor swimming pool, spa and all modern amenities. Spend the night at your hotel. Day 5: Taxco to Acapulco. Set out on a bus trip to Acapulco (approximately 4 hours) and arrive at the world famous coastal resort of Acapulco. The city is known for its golden beaches, cliff divers, resort hotels and pulsating nightlife. You will be transferred to the Fiesta Americana Condesa Acapulco hotel nestled on a hillside with stairs leading to the Condesa beach. The hotel offers 404 fully equipped rooms with private terrace, hilltop pool, sundeck, restaurants serving international cuisine, gift shop, beauty salon and fitness centre among others. You are at leisure for the rest of the day. Day 6: Acapulco Tour Today, you have the opportunity to watch the famous cliff divers show at La Quebrada, you ll see brave local men jump from a height of 25 to 35 metres into the narrow ocean cove. After enjoying this breathtaking view, return back to your hotel for the night.
Day 7 to 11: Free day Acapulco The next 4 days are free days to explore Acapulco at leisure. Speak to your travel oculate about organising some adianta tour in Acapulco. Acapulco, a beach resort town on Mexico's Pacific coast, is set on a large bay backed by high-rises and the Sierra Madre del Sur mountains. Made famous by the jet set in the 1950s and 60s, it's known for its nice restaurants, beaches and golf. From its iconic La Quebrada cliff, professional divers plunge 40m into a small ocean cove every day and night. Day 12: Acapulco to Mexico City. Transfer from your hotel to Acapulco airport for your flight to Mexico City. Transfer to Mexico City airport hotel for your overnight hotel accommodation. Day 13: Depart Mexico City Transfer from your hotel to Mexico City Airport for your flights back to Australia. Day 14: Arrive Home. Arrive Home in Australia. Tour Concludes Memories Begin.

DESTINATION INTERNATIONAL HOLIDAYS BOOKING CONDITIONS Please read this information prior to making your reservation BROCHURE VALIDITY The information presented in our brochure is correct to the best of our knowledge, but is subject to change without notice. Changes can occur with respect to prices, itineraries, duration of holidays, service standards, tour content, airfares and schedules. This is out of our control. Please ensure you advise details of your requirements at the time of booking. GOODS AND SERVICES TAX (GST) The Australian GST does not apply to international travel. Any service fees, courier, cancellation and amendment fees are subject to GST. You will be charged GST where applicable. DEPOSIT A deposit is required to confirm your booking (varies depending on package booked). Receipt of deposit will be taken as an understanding by Destination International Holidays that the customer has checked their confirmed travel arrangements and has read and agreed to the terms and conditions. FINAL PAYMENT Payment in full must be made no less than 90 days before travel, unless required earlier by any supplier. PRICES All prices for our tours are advised in Australian Dollars ($AUD). They are based on airfares, schedules and tariffs at the time of printing. Destination International Holidays reserves the right to vary the cost of the tour, taxes and airline prices if necessary by reason of currency fluctuation, cost increase, or airfare increase. All prices are subject to confirmation from local tour operators. Once full payment has been received by Destination International no surcharges in respect to currency fluctuations will be applied. ITINERARY CHANGES Destination International Holidays reserves the right to amend the itinerary for reasons such as service requirements, road or weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Where a change is of a significant nature, it will be advised to our customers in writing. Destination International Holidays reserves the right to substitute hotels, lodges, inns and camps with properties of similar standard AMENDMENT FEES Any deviation to packages advertised or quotes will incur a fee of $150 per person. Should you need to alter your confirmed reservations, there will be an automatic fee charged of $150 per amendment or transaction, plus any new arrangements made. Additionally, there may be cancellation fees levied by the tour operator or fees may be applicable where arrangements have been pre-purchased. In addition, we charge $50 per person for all airline seat reservations and baggage charges plus any airline fees. $100 per person for all Tourist visa processing plus the cost for the visa fee. $75 per person to reissue any travel documents lost in the mail. $100 per person to process insurance claims when travel insurance has not been purchased from this office. CANCELLATIONS Cancellation fees will be levied relative to the amount of notice given as follows: Days Notice 90 or more 75-90 65-75 65-1 Loss of Deposit and 50% loss of fare 75% 85% 100% The above are Destination International Holidays cancellation fees. Airlines and Tour Operators may have additional fees. Transfer of a confirmed booking to another tour or departure date is deemed a cancellation of the original booking. There will be no refund for cancellation of unused services on or after commencement date. Please note that employees of any overseas suppliers are not authorised by Destination International Holidays to make any undertakings to our clients in respect of refunds or other matters. ACCOMMODATION There will be variations in the size, standard and presentation of rooms and facilities within the one hotel. This is beyond the control of Destination International Holidays. CLAIMS If you encounter any problems on your holiday, you should to try and solve it directly with the supplier whilst overseas. If it is not possible to do so please do so in writing within 30 days of completing your Destination International Holidays arrangements. TRAVEL INSURANCE You must be insured for the duration of your trip. You need comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellation, health requirements, luggage and additional expenses. Insurance policies rarely cover for loss of cash.
PASSPORT, VISA & VACCINATIONS You must familiarise yourself with any visa and health requirements that may be applicable in the countries you are visiting. You are responsible for all entry/exit health and any other documents required by laws, regulations, orders, demands or requirements of countries visited or transited. Please note that passport and visa requirements are not the responsibility of Destination International Holidays. We will not be held liable for any loss or expense due to the failure to comply with the above. We recommend that you be in possession of a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay overseas.
