2 THREE PHASES OF IMPLEMENTATION INTRODUCED WITH THE AIM TO: IMPROVE CAPACITY AND FLIGHT EFFICIENCY DECREASE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS 3rd phase FULL FREE ROUTE Phase 3 FULL FREE ROUTE AIRAC 08.12.2016 H24 from FL335 and above Airspace Users will plan a direct route between entry and exit points taking into account the availability of restricted areas and the preferred route. Available also for arrival and/or departing flights until/from defined points, above FL335, after/before which the flights will use standard ATS route network.

The ATS Route Network will be REMOVED 3

AUs may plan a direct route between defined Entry Point and a defined Exit Point NITAM NOSTO 4

5 AUs may also route via intermediate points as published in AIP - ENR 4.4 (upper airspace only) and/or Enroute Radio Navigation Aids published in AIP - ENR4.1.1 GOGEM ROXAN NOLSI

6 Segments between the significant points shall be defined in flight plans using the acronym DCT NITAM FPL ROUTE: NITAM DCT NOSTO NOSTO

9 If a trajectory develops too close to the LoR, there will be the definition of compulsory RESIA points to be planned MAREL After or before the correspondent Entry or Exit point NOLSI

Arrival and departing traffic have to plan according to published ATS route network for the portion of profile below FL335 The part of profile that is expected to be above FL335 has to be planned according to the mentioned guidelines FRA ENTRY POINT x Arrival Overflying Departure x FRA EXIT POINT FRA EXIT POINT x x standard ATS route network FRA ENTRY POINT FL335+

ENAV uses the same FDP system in all the 4 ACCs. Some new functionalities are required to elaborate a correct trajectory for all traffic that will fill in the flight plan by inserting ONLY the ENTRY and the EXIT points into Italian airspace. 15

16 The system needs to be upgraded to calculate the point where the flight path crosses the LoR between Italian ACCs, to activate the transfer of estimates and exchanging proper OLDI messages FLIGHT1 350 LICJ 468

Along the LoR sets of SEGMENTS are defined every 10 NM. COPs (Change Over Points) are in the middle of every segment 17
