MG CONNECTION EASTERN WASHINGTON, NORTHWEST IDAHO The President s Message By Bob Hughes Here it is, the end of October, and the driving season is coming to a close. We had the October meeting of the IEMGCC, with about 22 people attending. This is a great turnout! Thank you all for showing up. This month we had the great MG Shootout up at Farragut State park, with Mark Elmore officiating. There were the Elmore s, the Brennan s, Sid Kasuga, the Vollmer s, and the Hughes clan attending. It turned out to be a nice fall day, and everyone that wanted to take a turn at throwing some lead downrange got the chance. We sighted in a few rifles, and all went well. Thanks everyone for showing up. It was also a nice day for a drive. The October business meeting was held, and streamlined just a bit. The club officers were elected, (that s the streamlined part) with me, Bob Hughes, being elected as president, Mark Elmore being stood up by Sandy for vice president, Frank Newland for treasurer, and Juanell Brennan as secretary. Charles Brennan has also volunteered to take over the Membership Coordinator duties. Thank you all for your vote of confidence. Also thank you to the other new officers for stepping up to help keep the club running. Mark Elmore is sponsoring a high mileage contest for the new driving season, and will be setting forth some rules for those of us who are always looking for an edge. Look for it in an upcoming newsletter. It was brought up that the Boise Idaho British Car Club is having their summer tour / car show in Moscow Idaho this coming year. This would be a great time for our club to show up en mass. It s not too far to travel, and the meet is essentially a weekend affair. Good people to be around, with some great cars to show. (Editor s note: see page 5 of this newsletter for more info). (Cont. next page) PAGE 1

I encourage folks to pass on any ideas for activities they think may be of interest. Apologies are in order. It was pointed out to me that we had a couple of new faces in the group at the October meeting that I failed to acknowledge. They were Cal Cathcart, and Steve Smedley. Both have MGBs and I m hoping they will enjoy the club as I have over the last 30 odd years. Welcome to the club, and please accept my apologies for not introducing you to the club during the meeting. Bob REMINDER!!
